I'm an almost-thirty single Catholic geek girl ... and how many more adjectives can I get into one sentence? My name is Alicia. I am a dreamer and poet; I am fire and shadow inside. I am silly and outgoing, and I'll geek out with you about just about anything I know enough about to geek out about.
I am an avid reader of all kinds of fanfic. I'm a huge angst and h/c fan (you'll find that out soon enough). I discovered fanfiction with GreenWillow's "The Journey Home" Ninja Turtles story, and I've never looked back from that. I have assorted fic projects from different places that I finally decided it was time to dust off.
I have too many "favorite" fan interests to put a comprehensive list here. I'm a lifelong Trekkie (and also into Star Wars, but for different reasons). My old fandoms (in more or less chronolical order): Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Harry Potter, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Xena: Warrior Princess. The only fandom I've been an active participant in is Xena. A lot of my fic is about that show. I think it will always be my home. I'm not a subtexter; I have shipper tendencies (but my favorite ship for Xena is Marcus), but I still think the heart and soul of the show is Xena & Gabrielle. Right now I'm also interested in Rurouni Kenshin, Battlestar Galactica, Stargate:SG-1, Sanctuary, Robin Hood, and Legend of the Seeker. I'm a spoiler fanatic, and I'll read a fic written in a show I've never seen. I enjoy crossovers, but only the serious type -- I don't like the farce crossovers. Oh, and I've been into X-Men since I started reading comics. I like reading science fiction and fantasy (are you sensing a theme here, lol ... usually if a story could happen in this world, I'm not so interested). C.S. Lewis and Mercedes Lackey are my overall favorite fantasy writers. However, I also have a longtime interest in Lichtenburg & Lorrah's Sime~Gen universe.
I'm a Catholic convert, Christian my entire life, and my conversion story is quite long and confusing. I've noticed that it comes into most of my writing. Usually I don't set out to write allegory; it's just that the more confusing something is for me, the more I need those words to try to make sense of it. God is at the heart of my life, my best friend as well as my Lord. And I adore the quiet serenity of Catholicism, and the way that now I can honestly "seek God where He is to be found."
I hope you enjoy the stories -- drop me a note and let me know who you are!
