Friending Alistair is the first in a series of stories set using the choices in the game of Making Loghain a Grey Warden. Cailan did not die at Ostagar and traveled with the Wardens as the united Ferelden and gathered the armies in the treaties. This is the telling of that story the chaos and aftermath of those decisions.
Seeking Alistair A multi chaptered work that takes place in a world where Cailan survives Ostagar. Alistair left the Grey Wardens due to Loghain joining the Grey Wardens. And more than two wardens survived the joining. It is set during Dragon Age II with flashbacks to Origins. It is a slow start as the chapters were originally a couple thousand words a piece. And it was suggested not to make chapters more than a thousand.
I am posting a chapter a week now that most of us are out of lockdown.
These are the first two stories in the Forgiveness is Divine series.
If you notice similarities from this story and Age of Dragon you find out that our warden looked into the Mirror of Transfiguration in the black Emporium causing events to twist in all the lines of Warden Amells lives. (Combined updates)
This arc was inspired by the conversation between the Inquisitor and Flemeth when she said, “I nudged history when it was required… other times a shove is needed.” And in-game conversations by companions of all of the Dragon Age games.
Each story is told as a day/event in the year. Calendar month in () Consider these as flashbacks/ cut scenes.
I have gone to great length to get accurate dates from books/comic/cannon (DA wiki) game. Where there was conflict in the time line, I used the cannon time line.
Alistair - Kingsway(9)
Ciara – Harvestmere(10)
Cullen - Drakonis (3)
Cullen - Kingsway (9)
Ciara - Drakonis (3)
Each chapter is posted calendar order only because there had to be an order or each one needed to be a different (stand-alone) story. And I didn’t to force the readers to wonder if there was another one for the said year. Also, I will mark the story incomplete because at this time (1/20) My focus is with DA O and DA Awakenings. But I have some for DA 2 and DA Inquisition later or the chapters might remind me that they did something else that year important to their lore. With that said, I may have additional chapters for the same character for the year.
Also some characters may not show up in every year because their year was mundane and status quo that year.
I ran into the same problem here. If it were possible, I would make it one large story with years being the chapter. But with FFN it is not set up like that.
Closure – released 12/5/19 When Cullen was talking about he wished he could tell the Warden that he didn’t mean all those things he said before she went in the Harrowing chamber during broken Circle. My character decided she had a few things to say to the Inquisitor Romanced former Templar also. This was originally a one shot but it was screaming to be included in the Age of Dragon cycle= has only been updated as far as Adding a date to harmonize with the other parts of the series.
And as always feeding the author with Reviews is highly encouraged.
