[UPDATE: February 1st, 2013]
You guys, I'm definitely alive, sorry. I just haven't considered myself a part of the One Piece fandom for a long while now (since I moved to Japan, coincidentally) and have been working on fanfic for other fandoms under a different pseud. I've let Politically Correct sit on the back burner while I worked on those fics, but I'm going to actively prioritise PC from here on out.
[Recommendations] (none of which are One Piece, but both of which I respect on such ridiculous levels and both of which are monster projects)&ALSO. I pretty much now consider both these fics to be canon. They are that good.
(FAKE) Everything brit-columbia has written in her LJ. Seriously. As much as I love Matoh-sensei and her series, I am so terribly terribly unsatisfied with where FAKE ended (even with FAKE II). brit-columbia and her FAKE First Year Together project fills that gaping hole with all sorts of satisfaction (also, that link only takes you to May. June, aka Justice is currently being written) It is so well written and so in character and so hot that I absolutely love it.
Brief summary: It, simply, is a continuation of FAKE from when Dee & Ryo and that one night on the bridge where Ryo finally confesses. i.e. continues where Matoh-sensei left off after Volume 7. IT IS SO GOOD YOU GUYS.
(Harry Potter) The Shoebox Project aka SBP by ladyjaida and dorkorific aka Rave: (Technically a WIP I guess, but it's better to assume that this is the end.) This is the fic that made me want to write. This is a marauders era fanfic. It is THE marauders era fanfic. Whenever someone asks me who my favorite characters are in Harry Potter, I immediately say "Remus Lupin and Sirius Black and kindof James Potter as well. Oh and Lily Evans." And everyone else goes "but what? They are barely in Harry Potter" and I go "Whatever. SBP is so much better than canon." AND IT IS SO TRUE. I must warn you that a lot of it is verbal, literary, and grammatical wit/humor. (if you like Jane Austen, Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, and Joseph Heller (specifically Catch-22) then you will probably love this as well)
It also comes with drawings and hand-written notes and hand-written letters and it is very much a shoebox.
Brief Summary: it is simply the lives of four boys in school and the mischief they manage. It is: The Adventures of Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs and how they became friends in Hogwarts with eventual SiriusxRemus (it is shounen-ai, but mostly towards the end).
