Hmm, I guess it doesn't really matter what goes here, but if you really want to know me...
I am 18, about to go to Allegheny College. When I was young, I was taught to read at a very early age. Since then, books have been my life. At least once a day, I have to go on this site and read at least a chapter of a movie or cartoon or show. My habits as a reader are disappointing at best. I haven't written a review in over a year and it's pretty sad. I have books that I haven't read, but have been in my bookmarks (or mind) since I first started writing.
I guess it's a little humbling to realize that I'm still just a rookie. I've seen the best authors' works out there and they amaze me. Thousands of reviews from people all over the world. I aspire to be that...that's my goal, to leave this part of me a legacy. I want to reach that someday, but I have much to learn and I figure I won't get to that point until I've become my profession.
You should look at some of these guys...Kryalla Orchid, Foxy's Girl, Justthisguyyouknow, Makokam, bk00, FeiFei08. All of them, just amazing. I've never wanted to read an AU before until Foxy'sGirl put up Chasing Thunderstorms. That has to be the best AU I have ever been privileged to read. Kryalla has a mean hammer of doom and damnit, I fear reading one of his/her books because I never know want they'll put in this one. However, I'll Walk You Home...I check that story religiously. I hadn't been a Tokka fan, not a full one, until I started reading that story. Sokka and Toph's chemistry is something that almost makes me cry and I'm not ashamed to say it.
Harbor in the Tempest
Just a couple that I'm into right now and it's still not enough. It's stupid of me, but I don't follow my author's because I'm afraid of seeing something one of these guys made and being sucked right into and I have the worst case of putting a story down for a second and leaving it sitting in my phone/computer without picking it up until a year later. Some of these people should be given an award for putting up the nights and writing until their fingers cramped.
Umm, a writer had put something in his summary that made me think, Lee Kyle, does Let Me In fics. Every story that he reads, until the end, he reviews. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. If you're reading this right now, do this in his name; every story that you read, every story that you like...give that person his or her credit. Make them feel like their doing something worthwhile because in the end, that's what all authors really want, for their work to be loved and appreciated. Tell them that. It's been so many times where I felt that what I was doing wasn't really good enough, but I never stopped because in the end, someone will want to read it and if I made the effort to actually make it good, they'll want to talk about it. They'll want to tell me how good it felt reading, that way I know it was good enough for me to write it.
And for everyone who's waiting on my Our Love fic...I'm finishing that this year.
