What I Am
I am a serious writer who emphasizes characterization and character relationships. I thoroughly enjoy getting inside a character's head and writing about them - what they think, how they feel, what kind of inner turmoil is going on that drives their outward actions. I like writing characters even more than developing plot - not to say that the plots of my stories are lacking, just that they are not my main focus, so to say.
Also, this is not to say that I can not/will not write humorous situations; I rather enjoy doing so. I just don't like writing characters in an OOC manner (and honestly, I don't like reading about them, either). I try to keep the people I am writing about in character to the best of my ability and understanding; however, at some times I do go a step beyond and take insight into a character's personalities that is not revealed in the canon work.
I am the type of person who writes about developing relationships first and foremost. Even if my stories have an M rating, it is doubtful that there will be any detailed explanation of sex in them. Simply said - sensual I do, explicit I don't.
I am the sort of person who takes suggestions and critique - as long as it is constructive. I may not write about some things if I don't feel the proper inspiration for them. On the subject of critique, unnecessary, unreasonable and unsupported dislike of my writing - ie: "flames" - are not accepted. If you feel like there is something you want to alert me to improve upon, please explain what it is, how you might like to see it, and back up your reasoning. I appreciate good critique, because it alerts me to possible places and methods to improve upon in my writing.
I sort of require reviews to continue writing. I like writing for the sake of writing, but feedback is a main motivator, because there are a lot of other things I could be doing. I appreciate feedback and encourage reviews as much as possible. If you enjoy my stories, please review.
What I Am Not
I am not the type of person who writes about OCs. In my experience, OCs tend to be inappropriate - a self insert, a love interest for a character, etc. In almost all cases of AUs, OCs can be avoided, and I have not yet had to create a character in any fanfiction I have written (I've written many that are not on this account) that is an OC. If I ever do in the future, it will be strictly for fulfilling a role that I cannot fill with a canon character, and the character will probably not be terribly important.
I am not a crazy fangirl/fanboy who writes shit about OC's and prattles on and on at the beginning and end of each chapter about said OC's, or characters they are borrowing for their fan material in an entirely out-of-character way. Don't expect a lot of filler material besides warnings - though I may decide to recognize reviewers and thank them personally in the following chapter.
I am not the sort of person who writes quickly. I know this isn't a good thing in the world of fanfiction, because readers usually read a lot of fanfiction and forget very quickly what the one they were reading is about. I have had problems with writing very, very slowly in the past, and I am trying to speed myself up some because I know it is in the best interest of the readers. I apologize for being slow.
I am not the type of person who inserts any sort of material in the middle of my writing, be it random OOC, explanations, or anything of the sort. If I need to explain something for any reason, I will provide an annotation at the bottom and a reference number in the text. I don't want to distract the reader with senseless information while they are enjoying my fanfiction and I never understood why anyone else felt it was necessary.
If you like my stories, you might be interested to know that I am in the process of writing a novel trilogy. I will update with information on it as more is released. I am still working on the rough draft of book 2 (the first one I am writing, actually, I am writing in the order 2, 1, 3), so it will be a while...
