I enjoy reading and writing fanfiction, although I haven't yet published any stories. I don't have any finished, and I don't want to start a story only to let it linger unfinished.
*My Soapbox Rant*
If ever I do publish one of my stories, rest assured I will NOT hold chapters for ransom. I find it strange that people will say "I've gotten so many alerts but no reviews so I don't know if people like the story". Well, it's my opinion that if people want to be alerted, they must like the story. Make sense? Also, I know many people, myself included, prefer to leave a review at the end. Maybe the first two chapters aren't to my liking but the rest are. Isn't it better to wait, than leave a possible negative review? (I don't mean flames, those are never acceptable!!!)
I've posted other types of stories at other sites, and while yes, it is nice to get reviews (always nice to get one's ego stroked) I rely on the numbers more than anything else. If the numbers go up for each progressive chapter, I count it as a win. If even only one person reviews, I'm happy to have brought enjoyment to that one person.
