NEWSFLASH: Hi. I'm a procrastinator with a tendency to DOTFOTE. (That's an acronym I made up that stands for "Drop Off The Face Of The Earth" and refers to any unexplained extended absence from a given website (or the internet in general). Feel free to use it if you want! It can be modified for context as follows: DOTFOTEs, DOTFOTEd, DOTFOTEing, etc.) Now that that's cleared up, you may continue. :)
I love Pokémon! My dream was always to work for Satoshi Tajiri – or even just meet him! – because I have so many ideas that I'd like to put forward! My favorite Pokémon is Togetic (and the rest of the Togetic evolutionary family as well, of course), but I think Ditto is the Pokémon that is most like me. "Why?" you ask? Well, because I can copy just about any Pokémon (or at least their voice; unfortunately not their appearance)! Additionally, just like Ditto, if I try to recreate (in my case, draw) a Pokémon solely on memory (i.e., without a reference picture), I tend to get some minor details wrong (again, like Ditto).
I am obsessed with Doctor Who (as well as Torchwood (and even The Sarah Jane Adventures))! Like many Whovians I differentiate between each of the Doctors by using their number like a name; for example, Ten is my favorite! I am primarily a New Who fan, but I do like Old Who as well; thanks to Inter Library Loan I have access to just about anything, from classic episodes to new novels, and more I watch/hear/see/read, the more canon fodder (pun not intended *roflsnort*) I'll have at my disposal – and the less likely I am to unintentionally contradict something previously established in the franchise – and I even know about the goings-on in other stories because of the TARDIS wiki!
I'm a huge fan of Harry Potter, too. (I trusted Snape after the 6th book before the 7th one came out!)
Oh, don't forget My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (though I am a bit behind on watching it. I'm pretty far behind on Supernatural, too, to be honest).
Let's see, what else have I been wasting my li– I mean, ahem, spending all my time with… Divergent? I have only seen the first movie, but I have read all three books.
You know what? Why don't I save myself some time and just direct you to my list of what I'm willing to beta for the rest of my interests; that encompasses pretty much everything I like.
Now, how about I include an actual bio in my bio? I am a girl in my 20s with an April birthday and one sister: Mysteryfan17, who is 3 years plus 11 months minus 6 days (a.k.a. almost 4 years) older than me.
Random tidbit: I don't always leave reviews because quite often, if I really like a fic, I don't have much to say about it. It's weird, I know, especially since I crave reviews for my own fics, but since I'm saying this in my profile now I will try to remember to review more – even if it's nothing but a short little "This is good" and/or an emoticon of my reaction to it. Therefore, I will take the time now to humbly ask you readers to extend the same courtesy to me.
I made a community!
It's called Nuzlocke Central, and it's for stories like my "A Challenging Journey" that tell about someone's in-game experiences. It's not just for Nuzlocke Challenges, either; I'll gladly include other styles as well, e.g., speedruns. PM me if you want to suggest any fics – your own or someone else's – and I'll check them out! Only in rare circumstances will I reject an applicable nomination, and whether I do or not I will put the story on alert and continue to read and review it. And so, on that note, don't give up if your fic isn't added right away; I might change my mind and add it later!
Now, if you will indulge me, let's talk about canonicity for a little bit. I know that, in some people's opinion, any fic is basically AU (the common acronym for "alternate universe") because it's something that doesn't actually happen officially in canon. That is one way to look at it, but my view of it is somewhat different. I believe fics could be divided into categories based on how much the story takes canon into account. Here I will expound on what I mean.
If you’re just taking the characters and throwing them together however you want and putting them into a situation that would never have happened in the original universe, that's fine - no, really, I'm not against it! - but in that case there is no question that it is AU... I'd even go so far as to call it MU for "messed up", but it may still be enjoyable to read if written well!
However, if you only take characters that would logically be together within the constraints of canon and put them into a plausible situation that could have happened, that is not AU at all as far as I'm concerned but rather canon-compliant (as long as you don't present any contradictions with things that did or will happen). This category also encompasses fics that are about something that actually happened - without changing anything - but just giving introspection or insight or an alternate perspective
Now that you've seen both ends of the spectrum, let's look at what's in between... The first two are well-known examples which might also fit into any of the categories listed below them.
If your fic sets out to change something you don't like about what happened in canon, that's a "fix-it" fic.
If the whole purpose of your fic is to rework the story from a certain point based on one (or more) specific changes, that is a "what if" fic.
If a story contradicts an aspect of canon that happened before the start of the fic, your foundation of canon is cracked and the story has skewed away from strict canon compliance; let's call it SU for "skewed universe". If you skew it too much, however, it may get to the point where your changes overtake the remaining canonicity, in which case you might cross the threshold into MU ("messed up") territory. Not a terrible thing - like I said, if it's well-written it can still be an enjoyable read - just something to keep in mind.
However, if your contradiction is with something that would have happened after your fic started and the reason it doesn't happen is a direct result of something done in your fic, you have introduced a parallel. I will call this kind of fic PV for "Parallel 'Verse" (because PU as an acronym stinks ;)), but notice what I italicized.
Conversely, if your fic contradicts something that would have happened after your fic started but there is nothing in the fic that would have prevented it from happening then that's different. Let's say you want to change something that happens in canon that you don't like (a "fix-it" fic), or maybe you simply don't want it to happen in this fic for whatever reason. That would make it another SU or "skewed universe" fic.
These categories are not necessarily accurate to crossover fics, however, as by the above definitions pretty much any crossover could be construed as MU because it's "a situation that would never have happened in the original universe". In the case of crossovers, canonicity would only be dependent on keeping the characters in-character and, if your setting reflects an actual situation, keeping said situation as canonically accurate as possible unless and until circumstances are altered in such a way as they can no longer logically occur the same.
Firstly, there are straightforward character insertion crossovers, in which characters from one fandom are inserted into the world of another, i.e., if Maddoc (from Dragonlance: The New Adventures) performed some sort of summoning ritual that dragged the young dinosaurs out of The Land Before Time and into that world. However, it may not necessarily include any sort of explanation like that.
Then there's fics where characters from one fandom are changed to be like those of another. These character alteration crossovers might involve Link from The Legend of Zelda becoming a wizard enrolled in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry (the world of Harry Potter).
Next, we have character replacement crossovers, where characters from one fandom are directly substituted for those of another, such as putting Disney characters in the roles of Fire Emblem characters.
Finally, if you were to, for example, turn all of the characters from Doctor Who into Pokémon but leave them with the same personalities, you could call that a character transformation crossover.
Our quinary example will be what I have dubbed a one-verse crossover, which works under the assumption that the fandoms in question take place in the same universe. For example, if Sam and Dean (from Supernatural) somehow manage to cross the town line and find themselves in Storybrooke, Maine (Once Upon a Time), that could imply they take place in the same universe even if they've never had a canon example of them intersecting before.
Senarily, depending on how you do them, songfics can be considered a type of crossover; your characters will potentially in some way be filling the role of someone in the song (or perhaps the singer thereof) that the fic is based on.
If anyone can think of a category I forgot to mention, please PM me and let me know so I can add it to my list.
So, with that being done, here is a list of information concerning the fanfiction that I've not finished and/or posted here for one reason or another, so now you can see the sort of stuff my mind comes up with. Whether I post it or not, however, I (unlike some people) never delete my works – even when I know they're not going anywhere – since there could always be a few nuggets of inspiration there that can be used later for something else! ;) You wanna know something funny? Most of these fics didn't have titles until I put them down here! Now I know why my friends always ask me for ideas for titles for their stories/chapters.
(BTW, here's another term I made up: "RE/MOD" (that is, "rewrite/modification") refers to a fic that is written by the author following along with an existing work – be it a TV show, movie, game, book, whatever – and writing it out directly unless or until the story deviates from canon. When I do RE/MODs, I have to pause frequently to type out each scene exactly in detail; it is therefore very time-consuming but ultimately satisfying when it's completed. Also, as a side note to this tangent, chapter titles for my RE/MODs will be based on if not identical to the chapter/episode titles of the respective section of the original work it is taken from, if applicable.)
Drabbles of the Doctor Whoniverse – various 100-word stories about characters from Doctor Who.
I'd welcome any drabble prompts my readers have to offer! The prompts I have worked with in the past have all been either a single word or short phrase theme or topic suggestion.
Potential to be expanded upon. Review or PM with requests or suggestions.
Commercial Breakout – a new drabble series telling various stories inspired by TV commercials.
I am open to suggestions on this one too! I have two ideas that I have not written yet but hope to soon; one is based on a comment my mom made about how a commercial for Pillsbury crescent rolls might have continued past the end of it, and the other involves my own made-up version of something from a Heinz ketchup commercial.
None posted yet as of most recent profile update. Potential to be expanded upon. Review or PM with requests or suggestions.
Doctor Who: A Christmas Song – Jingle Bells, reworked to be Who-centric. :)
Merry Christmas! Or Happy Christmas in July! And when neither of them apply, just think: it's Christmas Eve somewhen! xD
Potential to be expanded upon. Review or PM with requests or suggestions.
The Impossible Zorua – Doctor Who Pokémon AU featuring Clara the Zorua.
Inspired by a pic of a bowtie-wearing Pikachu with a bright-eyed Zorua. Based on portions of the episode The Name of the Doctor.
Potential to be expanded upon. Review or PM with requests or suggestions.
Beyond Time – a crossover between The Land Before Time and Dragonlance: The New Adventures.
This started as an idea I came up with whereupon myself and LostInTheDreams would each make a list of categories we liked and put them in a random number generator and whatever fandoms we wound up with would get paired together so that we could RP a crossover of them. She no longer wants to continue it with me at this point, so it is on hiatus until someone volunteers to take her place. Anyone interested?
Introduction posted. Please review or PM if you're interested; I'm still waiting for someone to ask. :(
I Don't Belong in NCIS – An NCIS fic that features the insertion of my sister, 'Mysteryfan17'.
Uh… this really has to be a collaborative effort between my sister and me; she knows the show better than I do, and while I can keep everyone in-character pretty well by myself, I sometimes miss something (a subtle quirk or habit, for instance) inherent to someone's personality. Unfortunately, even though Mysteryfan17 has finished her RPing with LostInTheDreams that they've posted on their shared account, LostInTheMystery, we still hardly get a chance to work on it at all. :(
Chapter 4 posted on my sister's birthday 2016! Chapter 5 unfinished as of most recent profile update.
The Weakest Doctor – Doctor Who, meet game show; game show, meet Doctor Who.
This fic is evil. It assaulted me. It twisted my arm behind my back and held me there helplessly until I had written several "before" scenes with no "after"s. Now I'm only a couple short of being done with all of them – "after"s included now – except I don't have much to show for it overall because beyond that I've hardly worked on the rounds at all. After going back and forth in my mind over whether I should start by posting the aforementioned "before" scenes or post an initial introduction first, I have changed my mind again, and will probably start with the initial introduction and have flashes of before scenes scattered throughout the rounds, with the first one preceding the initial introduction just to set the scene and show what I mean and then subsequent ones heading each subsequent chapter. Just now, writing this, I have decided that each chapter will not be an entire round per se but rather the rounds will each be broken up into… um… 2 or 3 chapters each I guess; one for the question-and-answer portion and another for the voting off of the eponymous Weakest Link in any given round, and then there will be discussions etc to drive the plot during the designated commercial break times; these will either be in their own chapter or included as part of the voting-off chapter. Hey, at least this way I can start writing the rounds and begin posting without worrying about finishing the before-and-after scenes first since they'll be staggered! Quite expedient, right?
Chapter 1 undecided upon as of most recent profile update. That paragraph is ridiculous. Why did I write it that way?
My Life as a Fob Watch – Ever wonder what's going through the Doctor's mind while his mind is not in the Doctor?
In the Doctor Who episodes Human Nature and The Family of Blood, the Doctor has used a Chameleon Arch to make himself human. Meanwhile, his Time Lord consciousness is transplanted into a fob watch which can, at times, communicate with people around it. Inspiration: write those episodes from that point of view. :D RE/MOD
Unfinished as of most recent profile update. Since they took Doctor Who off of Netflix I'll have to order the DVDs through Inter Library Loan.
The Doctors, Plural – The Doctor may be one-of-a-kind, but sometimes in Doctor Who there are more than one of him…
So I was randomly wondering one day what it would've been like if the Eleventh Doctor's Ganger (Flesh doppelganger) – let's call him 11.2 – from the episodes The Rebel Flesh and The Almost People had been able to stick around; you know, travel in the TARDIS with the original? But then my mind went further back to the Tenth Doctor's Meta-Crisis (half-human clone) – I think of him as Ten-and-a-Half, so 10.5 – from the episode Journey's End, and what if he had left in the TARDIS as well after they returned Rose to the parallel universe? RE/MOD
Chapter 4 – "Brotherly Love" posted. Chapter 5 unfinished as of most recent profile update. Since they took Doctor Who off of Netflix I'll have to order the DVDs through Inter Library Loan.
Neville Longbottom (and the …) – An AU to the Harry Potter series in which Voldemort targeted Neville as a baby instead of Harry.
I love analyzing the possibilities here! How many things would be completely different, what will there be that hasn't changed at all… And, most importantly, just how well can it coincide with basic canon when the foundation of this fic disregards the entire premise of the main series? :D RE/MOD
Chapter 1 of Sorcerer's Stone – "The Boy Who Lived" posted on Neville's birthday. Chapter 2 unfinished as of most recent profile update. This one is different from other RE/MODs as I will be combining aspects of the movies and the books to establish a storyline that encompasses both; bear in mind that I will have to use my own discretion where they irrevocably contradict each other.
A Challenging Journey – My Pokémon Black Version Nuzlocke run.
Nuzlocke Challenge: play any Pokémon main series game from the beginning, releasing any Pokémon that faint and only catching the first wild Pokémon you meet in each route/cave/forest/etc. RE/MOD
Chapter 9 - "Who's That Pokémon?" posted. Chapter 10 unfinished as of most recent profile update.
Another Brother?‼ – A Pokémon fic in which *gasp* James has decided to become a good guy!
This is a (slightly disjointed) work in progress. It wasn't really AU when I got the idea, but it is now; it picks up from just after Ash's journey through Sinnoh.
Chapter 3 posted. Chapter 4 unfinished as of most recent profile update.THIS IS NOT A RE/MOD; they will be traveling to the region that I made up, Pécco, which is where my fic Disturbance in the Unown Forest takes place.
I Don't Belong in Pokémon – A self-insertion fic that follows the Pokémon anime from the very beginning, told from my POV, altered to accommodate my presence, and influenced by my actions.
Obviously the first episode ties in exactly at the start, but changes will become more and more evident as I continue to do things that are different from what takes place canonically in the show. I've completed episode 1 (Pokémon – I Choose You!) and started episode 2 (Pokémon Emergency!), and I've also done the scene at the Pokémon Center with Damian in episode 11 (Charmander – The Stray Pokémon). Yeah, I know, talk about a jump, right? I do that sometimes, unfortunately. Case in point: all my Doctor Who stuff. So, really it's not just sometimes; more like usually. Seriously, at one point or another I've written parts that are not contiguous with the rest of the story for over half of the fics on this list! RE/MOD
Episode 1 – "Pokémon – I Choose You!" posted on Ash's birthday! ;) Episode 2 – "Pokémon Emergency!" unfinished as of most recent profile update.
I Don't Belong – A prequel of sorts… Explains how my sister and I wound up inserted in TV shows; Pokémon.
This is the only thing listed here that I haven't got anything written for yet; I've got plot ideas, event plans – even a cutscene or two – all worked out in my head, just nothing on paper (er, I mean… on file? lol).
First part unwritten as of most recent profile update.
Pokémon Trainer Twins – This is "my book" that I've mentioned.
I've been saying for a long time that I wouldn't post this. (I fantasized about it being published officially and/or becoming the basis of the first ever live-action Pokémon movie. I fear it is a doomed hope. DX) This is book one in a series for which book two is not done.
Finished. Maybe I'll start posting it. Maybe. :P I'll have to look over it first, though, because I was basically still a kid when I wrote it so it may not be in the most pristine condition at the moment… rest assured, however, that I will thoroughly beta it before posting!
Twin Trainer Team – The sequel to Pokémon Trainer Twins.
This will not be posted until book one is posted in its entirety (obviously). If book one does not get posted, this one never will either. I haven't worked on it for a pretty long while, but if I do post it it will be gradual (one chapter at a time) so I can work on it with plenty of leeway for slacking off as I am wont to do. :/
Unfinished as of most recent profile update.
Back to the TARDIS – Back to the Future, except it's Doctor Who.
Yeah, I've thought for a while that Doc Brown looks quite similar to the First Doctor. I have come to the realization that perhaps it is him through the use of his Chameleon Arch. (This fact alone would make it AU because before Ten uses it in the show he says he's never used it before except for the fact that that two-part episode was actually based on a Seventh Doctor novel!) While I have already decided on certain things being different from the movies, it will still essentially be a RE/MOD.
Part One unfinished as of most recent profile update.
Delcatty Don't Dance – A Pokémon version of Cats Don't Dance.
What it says on the tin. :P RE/MOD
Act One unfinished as of most recent profile update.
Walt Disney's The Sacred Stones – Fire Emblem: the Sacred Stones storyline, except they're Disney characters instead.
My mind is so messed up… What could possibly go wrong with this crossover, I wonder? How about unconsciously picking who's who based on personality and situation while giving no thought to their actual roles? Sadly, my brainstorming has already made a villain a good guy and cast a hero as one of the people you wind up battling against. RE/MOD
"Prologue: The Fall of Renixipydas" posted, along with cover art of my own design! "Chapter 1" unfinished as of most recent profile update.
Ghost Magic: Deathly Mysteries – Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective storyline, except they're Harry Potter characters instead.
I hate my mind. Not only does this crossover involve characters 'switching sides' so to speak (good guy - bad guy, bad guy - good guy; just like the Disney/FE:SS Xover above), but I have recently had to rework almost the entire cast because the way I had it ruined just about all of the mystery from the storyline for anyone who knows HP. Sorry about that, and for future reference: take nothing for granted, be it identities or relationships, because I jumbled them up to keep you guessing. ;D RE/MOD
Chapter 1 – "7:02 PM" unfinished as of most recent profile update… and I am working on making my own original cover art for this one too! :) …which is giving me more trouble than I expected. :(
The Legend of Potter: A Link to Hogwarts – A Harry Potter / Legend of Zelda crossover in which Link goes to Hogwarts.
Pretty much self-explanatory.
Chapter 1 – "Knil Gnissim" posted. Chapter 2 unfinished as of most recent profile update.
Suy Mare – a Pokémon / My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic crossover that really has nothing to do with Pokémon.
A character from my book somehow winds up as a pony. Don't ask me how, because I won't tell you. SPOILERS! :P
Introduction posted. Next part unfinished as of most recent profile update. Ending complete. …Wait, what? *facehoof*
The Pokémon Princess Bride – A Pokémon version of The Princess Bride.
I took over this fic from 'wellnoduh' since she offered it to me when she decided to discontinue hers. In other words, she gave me express permission to use her writing and ideas for my rendition of this story, in whole or in part, as I wish lol. I got farther than she did, but unfortunately I have not completed it either. Sorry wellnoduh! I still intend to finish it, though! …Eventually… RE/MOD
Act I posted. Act II unfinished as of most recent profile update.
Something I found in an old Reader's Digest:
Jesus and Satan were arguing over who was better with computers. Finally God suggested they settle it: Each would spend two hours using spreadsheets, designing web pages, making charts and tables – everything they knew how to do.
The two sat down at their keyboards and began typing furiously. Just before the two hours were up, a thunderstorm knocked the power out. Once it came back on, they booted up their computers.
"It's gone! It's all gone!" Satan began to scream. "My work was destroyed!"
Meanwhile, Jesus began quietly printing out his work. "Hey, he must have cheated!" Satan yelled. "How come his stuff wasn't lost?"
God shrugged and said simply, "Jesus saves."
Thank you for visiting my profile! I hope you will read and review the fics that I have posted (and come back again if you enjoy them)! :)

Continuity - Some of my fics share continuity with each other. These are considered to be part of a single universe, or 'verse. Mine are as follows:
CC'verse - My primary, "canon-compliant", Doctor Who universe. These stories are all self-contained, but some of them may reference one another. This 'verse includes Doctor Who: A Christmas Song Mario Kart Wii One Terrible Night The Good Stuff Happy Father's Day, Pete Tyler! (Chapter 3, not Chapters 1 or 2) At Your Service A Lesson in Shakespeare Donna...Noble? If She Ever Remembers Me The Demon Went Down to Cardiff The Last Day of the Doctor Drabbles of the Doctor Whoniverse (only #s 2, 4-6, 8-16, 18, and 21-26).
Of these, the following only take place in Pete's World. The Last Day of the Doctor Drabbles of the Doctor Whoniverse (#16) The Good Stuff Happy Father's Day, Pete Tyler! (Chapter 3)
IDB'verse - The "I Don't Belong" series. This 'verse encompasses all of my fics with "I Don't Belong" in the title. They are self-contained at this point, but they might intersect eventually... I Don't Belong in Pokémon I Don't Belong in NCIS
Pécco'verse - Pokémon stories which take place in the Pécco region (a region that I made up myself) for any length of time. They are also all self-contained. Another Brother?‼ Disturbance in the Unown Forest Toge-Trilogy Pokémon Trainer Twins
Any of my other stories are standalone - drabbles individually so - unless otherwise noted, though if they don't contradict one another they could technically happen in the same universe.
