Ni hao ma. Konnichiwa. Ciao. Hola. Bonjour. Hi. Just Watanabe Maya here, greeting you all with a big hello. :D
Things About Me? Hmm...Let's See:
I'm an aspiring artist-author-mangaka-violinist-pianist-fencer-nerd-geek-and-dork. Manga and anime-centered pieces are pretty much all that I ever create. I am currently trilingual and speak English, Filipino/Tagalog, and Japanese (though my reading and writing skills can still use a lot of improvement, I can pretty much hold a fair conversation verbally). I look forward to a future where the ideal me can speak fluent Italian, French, Spanish, and Chinese along with all those aforementioned languages. Highly impossible, I know - but it doesn't hurt to dream. ;) As you can see from this list, I am a very very proud Hetalian.
Writing in Retrospect:
No one can say exactly, with a precise, perfect definition, what love really is. It is copious and abundant; a vast expanse of descriptions and forms. And all our stories are but renditions of feelings, of emotions, and opinions influenced by the individuality of our psyches. But the words with which we use to describe the love that we feel and experience, as well as the love that we observe and see, is the only way in which we can convey the numerous forms of this beauty to others. It is an art. Every story and literary piece that an author creates weaves a new definition to love; as our words, like colors, vividly enhance its beauty.
I believe everyone deserves to be appreciated - from mangakas to editors; directors to animators; scriptwriters to voice actors/actresses; authors to artists - regardless of whether one is a novice, a freelancer, or a professional. Reviews and comments are wonderful things; when one's judgment and occasional advice is passed down onto another, so long as they are not deprecating and odious. Writing is a form of self-expression; an exhibit of our talents and support for the shows which we love. We, as a fan-base, are a community and we are united by the same cause - show - for which we support. And, I believe, that opinions regarding shippings are all personal and should be respected. No one has the right to force their ideals *ahem, shove their opinions down another's throat, ahem*; as no one deserves to be put down for their choices and preferences.
With all that being said, I will not wage wars against those whose ships contradict mine. It is your choice and opinion, and I respect that. Nor will I tolerate, however, flaming insults against the pairings which I -as well as a number of other people- support; both in canon and fanon verses. I am a fangirl, and I am more than willing to go down with my ships. :)
On Favoritism and Fangirling:
All-time: Hetalia & Kyoukai no Kanata.
Shoujo: Ouran High School Host Club & 07-Ghost.
Shounen: Full Metal Alchemist & Bakuman & Shingeki no Kyojin.
Josei: Nodame Cantabile.
Slash: Sekaiichi Hatsukoi.
And yes, I admit, I like shounen-ai and all; but only when it is mild. It's sweetness and complexity makes it a delightful read, whether in fics or in manga/doujinshi. I'm just in it for the fluff, you see. Heehee. But things can only go so far for me. I can tolerate yaoi but only to a certain extent; it's impossible for me to stomach shoujo ai and yuri though. Forgive me. [/shotshotshot.]
With Much Love
