I've been a reader of FanFiction.net for many years and can remember a time before this site was built where a Reader could only search high and low through Forums to find the occasional story posted Online. (^o^)
I was even chastised once by a Professor who claimed FanFiction was a waste of time and energy that could be directed towards study instead. Oh, how wrong that man was! Now, both Film and Television reaches out towards avenues which were once forged only by fans of FanFiction. Whole franchises can be built up over night and fans branch out to demand for more due to their creative desires for their favorite stories to continue.
I read and write stories daily, though only recently have thought about posting my own work. I just bounce from Genre to Genre. Medium to Medium. It never gets old. I've watched as family members and friends have grown addicted and held debates with Professors at the Collegiate level about the changing times.
I enjoy many different types of writers and find that I'm challenged by their desire to post their own works. (*^^*)
I can only hope that my smartphone never breaks because even I will admit my Safari App is set to FanFiction.net pages only. (~_~;) That might help explain the level of my Addiction.
