Author has written 6 stories for Pokémon, and Persona Series.
So. I'm Jimmy, male obviously, age 30. I'm just a guy who writes during his free time, that is in desperate need of practice, and likes to rant. Which is funny because I'm actually a really quiet person.
Huge thanks to my beta reader, DarkAngelTorchic. I promise to go easy on you.
And that's all I can stand to discuss about myself and my interests, so instead how about we move on to some notes, comments, and progress reports about my stories that I couldn't think to put anywhere else! Oh and then there's some other extra rants and opinions after that. Ignore if you so choose.
Sweet Sacrifice: A standard OC Journey intertwined with a more seasoned plot which I must give credit to my friend (username Plasma Pegasus on here) for, as she granted me exactly the inspiration I needed to make this more than just a badge quest. This is the one I'm going to be really focusing on. Also, I may make references to the plots of other fics that I've read and enjoyed, with credits to the fic and author in a note. Progress: Posted ch. 19 on 2/23/19. Chapter 20 has been started because I decided chapter 19 would be better off ended where it is and I moved the last scene to the beginning of chapter 20 instead.
Eventually I plan to also release an "Extras" story, which would actually only be some one-shots, side stories, and trivia for Sweet Sacrifice that I wouldn't be putting into the main story for some reason or another. The following list is mostly for my own reference, though if anyone has any specifics they'd like to see, feel free to let me know (fair warning, there are spoilers here). While I sincerely doubt most of these would make for interesting reading, I will keep this list here as a reference anyway. Current ideas include: A page of trivia and comparisons between the original story and the current version; Shadow's training of Thorn before the official start of the journey; Kirsten's battle with the forest ghosts; the story of exactly how and why Kirsten became a poison-type specialist.
Guardian of the Sea: Probably going to be another fairly standard OC journey type thing, just in a fairly uncommon setting. Or, at least, I haven't seen a single other 'fic out there set in the Orange Islands, so if you have (and it's good), please do direct me to it. There is a bigger plot to it than just the gyms though, as hinted in the summary. Progress: Posted ch. 5 on 1/26/15. Chapter 6 is started but not very far along; SS has been the focus recently.
Johto's Dark Secrets: Bit of a different plot, but I'm not happy with how I've started it, so I plan to re-write this eventually, perhaps starting a bit further down in Carrie's quest. Progress: The overhaul has not begun, so all of the glaring flaws are still there in all their painful glory.
Proteus: A bit of a different story than my typical writing. This is a one-shot, about twice the length of an average chapter of mine. It is yet another OC story, but unlike my others, this one does not follow the entire badge quest, but rather the rest of the adventure and the relationships that this particularly different main character forms, both with her team and her traveling partner. Of course, she has a secret she's keeping from them all and has to live with the unexpected results of hiding it.
There Is No Greater Hell: An OC-centered Persona story. Basically my own "game" with my own characters. Progress: Posted ch. 5 on 5/29/19. Ch. 6 and 7 both in-progress.
As for the last one... well, it's not really even a story, just excerpts from the others. I was going to take it down once it wasn't needed anymore but I think they're fairly good examples, so I'll leave them there. If it gets taken down for me, so be it, but why not let someone else get some use out of it while it's there?
Other Authors': My OC's I've submitted to other authors. Currently three have made a debut of the five I've submitted: First, Krystina Marshall, in Frozen Archer's A Legendary Cure. Second, Savannah Grace Decaro, in Starspejd's The Gawaro Chronicles. And third, Cassandra Pierce, in Engraved.In.Ink's Ripples in the Water.
Reviews are called that for a reason: Unlike most people on here I'm not craving reviews, since I write for my own enjoyment rather than praise or criticism. But if you feel like leaving one for any reason, I'm not going to stop you. However, that means an actual review, please. Tell me what you liked, didn't like, theories, predictions, problems, possible solutions, etc. It's got nothing to do with "not being able to handle flames" but more with the fact that flames offer no real feedback and just wastes the time of both the one writing them and everyone who happens to read them. Don't like, don't read, don't comment. It's not rocket science.
On a related topic, I fully support Farla and co. While I realize their reviews can be taken as a little harsh, all of the ones I've seen have been genuinely informative and intended to be helpful. If you don't want constructive criticism, (or simply don't want to improve/would rather people flower your story in compliments), then you might want to specify that in the summary or something when you post your story. As for me, while I'm not actively looking for feedback, I'm not going to turn it away. You can see the comments on JDS if you need that validation.
Know any good stories?: I'm a little bit obsessed with finding other good 'fics, which on this site seems to be only slightly easier than finding a proverbial needle in a haystack, so if you think you've got something worth reading I welcome you to harass me with links, via PM. Just a heads up, I generally prefer OC-based stories. Just try to keep it within the Pokemon universe; that's all I really enjoy reading (in terms of fanfiction).
And that's about it... Yeah, that got long. Oh well. Feel free to PM me if you have questions about stuff.
Last profile edit: July 4, 2019: Forgot I've had a birthday this year. Also added a bit of critique ranting.
