![]() Author has written 33 stories for Lord of the Rings, Alice in Wonderland, 2010, Dark Angel, Merlin, Chronicles of Narnia, Harry Potter, Inheritance Cycle, Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles, Firefly, No. 6, Supernatural, Black Jewels Trilogy, Pitch Black / Riddick, and Digimon. Hey there and welcome to my little corner of the world! A little bit about me...cause that's what these things are for right? My name is Gen. I've been an avid fanficker for over ten years now (did the math today and can I just say ouch!). I started out on this site as chiquitagoddess (gotta love bananas!) and wrote mainly really bad Mary-Sue Legomance, seriously find one of the awful self-inserts kicking around the LotR fandom these days then up the badness level by about ten. Except for spelling and grammar which I have always been pretty good with! I left the site for five years, but continued writing (check out Twisting the Hellmouth, for my older Buffy crossover stuff under the same pename) and now I'm back in the game! Some faults, I have chronic writer's block. I start new fics before I've finished old ones. I still like the Girl-Falls-Into-ME plotline (though now I'm a bit more discerning about spelling, grammar, character development and the like). Updates come when I have the chapters, so it could be hours, it could be months, it could be over a year. I don't really ship per se, I write mostly slash (M/M) cause I find it easier to get into my characters' heads that way but I like to try new and exciting things and rarely get squicked with non-traditional romance (currently I am enjoying writing all kinds of polyamory). All my stories have some hint of romance, I'm a sucker for it. I prefer happy endings to angst ridden death and doom (though I like putting that in the middle!) I am continually shocked by the people who actually read my rambling Author's Notes and would like to take this opportunity to formally apologize to all the author's whose notes I skipped over the years, nothing personal, I'm just impatient. I don't have beta-readers, so to ensure you get quality plot, spelling, grammar and format, I check, double check, and do it all over again before posting. Honestly I would never post if I didn't mind reading my own writing so many times! I love reviews! What author doesn't? But a nice long review can make my entire week! I read them all, sometimes two or three or twenty times, and they help me when I'm stuck on story ideas. So thank you to all my reviewers past, present and future, even if I don't reply to you personally rest assured that I'm grateful for your time and have taken what you have to say into careful consideration. On the subject of flames, I don't get a lot of them (which I hope means I'm doing a good job) but I don't take it as hard as other authors seem to. In my book flames mean I've got something that needs to be fixed in my story, even if it's just putting a better content warning in my summary so that people can avoid the stuff they don't like. That being said I don't flame, it's too easy to crush the fragile author's confidence in their abilities if you flame and then they don't fix anything they just kind of yell at you or curl up in a corner and cry. So I support long winded reviews that gently point out specific mistakes and offer advice on how to fix them when I come across somethiing I feel needs work. Better to have them fall asleep at their desks than give up writing altogether. Alright, well, Kudos if you've made it this far down the page of my self-centered rambling! Here's hoping you found the above info a useful insight into my process or brain! Hope you enjoy the fanfiction you are about to read, and I highly recommend if you like my work even a little bit you check out the stories in my favorites tab, some of them are really mindblowingly awesome! Have an awesome day! -Gen
