I live in Vancouver and write for a living - in fact, manage a team of technical writers - but I am not a 'writer'. I am not that creative :)
I created a profile because I wanted to be able to have an online "personality" on this site so that I could leave personalized reviews. I mean, heck, all of you authors work so hard, the least I can do is leave you a "thank you". And, I get to use my little yellow T'Pol avatar - the best!
I LOVE Star Trek - well, not all of the series, but love love love Enterprise. I began watching the original series in syndication in the early 70's with my Dad. My first love was Mr. Spock. Heck, I specialized in math in school and eventually university (going on to a MA in Economics) because I wanted to be like Spock. And I do like Voyageur and TNG - even the 2009 Star Trek movie but what the hell, they blew up Vulcan - but Enterprise is my favorite. No prime directive, no replicators to make anything to fix everything, lots of Andorians and Vulcans...it is the best. And I love the personalities especially T'Pol and Trip ... but Phlox is great, as are Hoshi, Jon, Soval and Shran.
Went to the 2010 Las Vegas convention - great array of Enterprise cast on hand. Connor Trinneer and John Billingsley were super nice and quite talkative, given the lineups. Shatner and Nimoy were hillarious (just watch "The Captains" for brief glimses of what went on), as were Jonathan Frakes, Brent Spiner, Patrick Stewart, Michael Dorn etc etc etc. Best fun in years.
My oldest daughter was and is lovingly appalled with my geeky trek passion, cautioning me not to turn into one of those people that 'wears the ears'. My 14 year daughter ignores it all but my son watches Enterprise with me ... I think he thinks Vulcans are as cool as I do. Or maybe it just T'Pol :)
