Name: Higuchimon Announcement: Yet more revisions. I have decided that my first project is to work on my tumblr prompts, rewrite a lot of old fics, finish works not yet completed, Bad Things Happen Bingo, Any Fandom Dark Bingo, and then a very importanat set of edits/rewrites. Not just Reversal, but almost every fic since the middle of 2014: when I started writing for the Fanfiction Challenge forums for Digimon & YGO. Because I am no longer writing for those prompts, I have made this decision: I feel that some of the restrictions on chapter and/or word length held me back from doing my best, so I'm going to each of those fics and editing to make sure they're as good as I can make them, while no longer being limited to those restrictions. Anything written to a specific number of chapters will be rewritten to be a different amount of chapters, while anything written to a specific word count will be edited or rewritten (depending on what is most suitable) so that it no longer is that word count. This will, obviously, take me a long time to complete, but I will be working on it slowly every day. Once I have the complete list of what will be rewritten from the ground up, I will put it here. The following fics will be rewritten entirely and reposted with a new word count and new chapter count: Rewriting Reversal in general: I made a change that will require edits to most of the currently posted Reversal fics. The edits might be only a few words or a total rewrite. The following fics will be affected and will be removed and reposted once the appropriate changes are done. Some might be renamed but I haven't made any final decisions on that. Anything that's a total rewrite will be at least twice of the original word count.
Notes: I don't have the time or energy to read anything I'm not at least 98% certain I'm going to enjoy. This is how I determine if I might enjoy it: In no given order:
There are other things that will draw me to a fic; far too many for me to include them all, because I don't know them all, and I can be surprised by enjoying something I didn't think I would. But these are the basics and it's unlikely I'll like something that isn't listed here. And if I don't like something, I won't comment on it in any fashion whatsoever. So if you see a crude anonymous comment that claims to be by me, then I can state with certainty that it wasn't me. Why I Love GX So Much: It turns the standard tropes and cliches on its head. Most of the villains have reasons for what they do (Kagemaru and Daitoukuji didn't want to die, most of humanity treated Saiou and his sister like trash because of their powers, Yubel wanted Juudai to keep his promise), the heroes begin with Goal A but end up finding out what they really want is almost the exact opposite, or grow into being what they thought they never could be (Shou thought he'd never be as good as his brother; he ended up being better than Ryou). GX punches heteronormativity square in the face. Most of the major romances are human/non-human. Duel Monsters aren't considered talking pets, but treated like actual people, because that's exactly what they are. Not being human doesn't mean they're not people. When a hero turns away from the path of good, it's either shown in the end as awesome character development (Ryou's journey as Hell Kaiser) or not being possessed, like far too many other fandoms have it being (Juudai is Haou). Darkness has both good and evil aspects to it, while Light has only evil. How many fandoms can you say that of? GX takes cliches and stomps all over them. And that is why I love it with all my heart. These are the various pairings that I enjoy the most in my fandoms. Just because something isn't listed here doesn't mean I won't write or read it and just because something is listed doesn't mean I will. These are just the ones I like the most. Also, which name is in front has no bearing whatsoever on who is "on top". I don't do cliche seme/uke dynamics and find them insulting and repulsive. The ones that are bolded are my absolute favorite 'ships that I will almost always include in my writing unless I have a specific reason not to. MMPR-PRT-1:

Unless a fanfic clearly states otherwise, this is the timeline I will use for my Yu-Gi-Oh GX fanfics. Also, bold marks the winner of a duel, when not otherwise stated. Pre-Canon: 5,000 B.C. (Approximately): Juudai is born as the prince of a kingdom in another dimension, bearing the powers of the Gentle Darkness and the title Haou. At roughly the age of fifteen, Yubel becomes a humanoid dragon to protect him until he becomes an adult. Juudai swears from that moment on, he will always love only them, no matter what. Note: My name for his kingdom is Kuragari. His mother is Messenger of Hades-Kaien and his father is King Aodh. He has no siblings. 1987: Marufuji Ryou, Tenjoin Fubuki, and Fujiwara Yuusuke born. 1989: Yuuki Juudai, Misawa Daichi, Tenjoin Asuka, Manjoume Jun, Marufuji Shou, Johan Andersen, Jim Cook, Austin O'Brien, and Amon Garam born. 1990: Tyranno Kenzan and Edo Phoenix born. 1994: Mutou Yuugi, in his first year of high school, solves the Millennium Puzzle and the events of Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters begin. 1995: Ceremonial Duel of Atem vs. Yuugi. Juudai's father gives him Yubel's card on his sixth birthday. 1996: Ryou earns Cyber End Dragon after studying at Samejima's Cyber-Dojo. 1997: Juudai sends Yubel into space to gain the righteous waves of darkness, worried about them because of their attacks on people he dueled with, and hoping to heal their mind. This ends badly when their capsule instead encounters the Wave of Light. Juudai has multiple nightmares revolving around Yubel's pain and the practical upshot of this is his parents having part of his memories blanked out. It's implied this leads to Juudai not being able to hear spirits at all until he meets Hane Kuriboh. 2000: Kaiba establishes Duel Academia (headcanon, not actual canon). 2002: Yubel's capsule crashes back to Earth and is found by Cobra. Ryou, Fubuki, and Fujiwara start their first year at DA. Fubuki and Fujiwara both vanish before the end of that first year. (This is headcanon, based on the fact Fubuki doesn't get his full memories back until close to the end of the year that he returns, and then goes on to take classes with everyone else until he graduates along with them at the end of their third year. So he vanished either close to the end of that first year or early in the second. Either way, he didn't miss too much of his education.) 2003: Ryou's second year at DA. He wins the school duel. Year One: 2004-2005: 2004: October: Juudai, Asuka, Misawa, Shou, and Manjoume begin attending Duel Academia. 2004: November: After losing twice to Juudai and once to Misawa, Manjoume leaves DA and wanders for months. 2005: March: Manjoume finds North School, meets Ojama Yellow, builds his new deck, becomes the champion by defeating fifty students, and their representative for the school duel, which he loses. Juudai, Asuka, Manjoume, Ryou, Misawa, Chronos, and Daitoukuji begin their guardianship of the Seven Spirit Gate Keys. That same night, Darkness of the Seven Stars challenges Juudai to a duel. When Darkness loses the duel, his spirit is sealed into a card and the body's true spirit returns: Tenjoin Fubuki, Asuka's older brother. 2005: April: Camula's duels against Chronos, Ryou, and Juudai. She wins the first two and loses the third. 2005: May: Manjoume defeats his brother Chosaku in a duel to save the school from being bought by the Manjoume Group. His brothers acknowledge he's more mature than they thought. Taniya's duels against Misawa and Juudai. She wins the first and loses the second, returning to the monster world satisifed that she found someone strong enough for a mate, if he ever matures emotionally (Misawa) and someone who gave her the powerful duel she wanted (Juudai). 2005: June: Black Scorpions vs. Manjoume, Abidos vs. Juudai, Titan vs. Asuka. After that last, Fubuki recovers his memories and reveals Daitokuji as the party responsible for his entering the shadows. Daitokuji vanishes. 2005: July: Amnael vs. Manjoume, Amnael vs. Asuka, Amnael vs. Juudai, Kagemaru vs. Juudai, Ryou vs. Juudai (which ends in a draw). First year at DA ends for Juudai, Shou, Manjoume, Misawa, and Asuka. Ryou graduates. Hayato goes to work at Industrial Illusions. Year Two: 2005-2006: 2005 October: Second year at DA begins for Juudai, Misawa, Asuka, Shou, Manjoume, and Fubuki. We meet Edo, Kenzan, and Saiou. Shou is promoted to Ra Yellow. Edo defeats Ryou in a Pro League duel. The next day, Edo defeats Juudai. Late in October, Saiou duels and defeats Manjoume, inducting him into the Society of Light. The same day, Juudai, unable to see his cards since his second duel against Edo, leaves Duel Academia. 2005: November: Juudai arroves in Neo-Space and meets Aqua Dolphin, learning that he is the bearer of the righteous powers of darkness, and duels the Alien of Light, restoring at least some of his dueling sight. After a string of defeats in the minor leagues, Ryou enters the underground circuit at Saruyama's behest, dueling Inukai, and realizes through pain that what he really wants to do is win duels and doesn't care anymore about respecting his opponent and his opponent's duel. He becomes Hell Kaiser and eventually returns to the Pro Leagues. 2005: December: Juudai vs. Edo (round three), ending in Juudai's victory. Later, Manjoume takes over Obelisk Blue and makes it Obelisk White, then defeats Asuka, inducting her into the Society. 2006: January: Kenzan vs. Saiou, but Kenzan does not become part of the Society, attributing it to the dinosaur bone in his leg. Saiou enrolls in DA as a third year student. 2006: February: Juudai vs. Princess Rose; Juudai's victory means the class trip destination is Domino City. Kourimaru and Ikazuchimaru vs. Kenzan and Shou. Juudai vs. Iwamaru. Juudai and Edo vs. Mizuchi. Mizuchi digitizes herself into cyberspace. 2006: May: Misawa vs. Manjoume (round two). Misawa chooses to enter the Society. Samejima vs. Ryou. Ryou gains the Cyberdark deck. The Genex tournament begins with Saiou vs. Orgene. Late in the month, Juudai duels Manjoume, reminding him of his true nature as a person who'll get himself dirty to win if he must, not a person of pure light. Manjoume leaves the Society. Later still, Hell Kaiser vs. Darkness. 2006: June: Saiou's good side gives the two keys to the SORA satellite to Edo and Juudai. Seeking to regain them, Saiou's evil side completely brainwashes Asuka and sets her against Juudai in a duel. Juudai duels her, reminding her of her true fiery nature as opposed to a warrior of ice, and she leaves the Society. Ryou vs. Shou. Juudai declares that Shou is the true Kaiser, due to his better respectful dueling. Later, Juudai vs. Zweinstein, which inspires Misawa to leave the Society, as he realizes how to fuse luck/instinct (Juudai's speciality) and planning (Zweinstein's speciality), leading to his epiphany that dueling isn't his true forte, science/duel physics is. He goes to work with Professor Zweinstein. At some unknown point between now and November 2006, an accident in the lab sends him to Sand World. 2006: July: DD vs. the Collector. Edo vs. DD. Juudai vs. Orgene. Edo vs. Saiou. Juudai vs. Saiou. Ryou gives his medal to Rei and leaves the island, convinced no one there is a worthy opponent. Genex ends with Manjoume vs. Rei and Manjoume wins. Even though Rei took second place, she's permitted to join Duel Academia as a first year the next year: the first and only female Osiris Red student. Mizuchi, restored to her body now after the destruction of the SORA satellite, joins her brother. Second year ends for Juudai, Asuka, Fubuki, Misawa, Shou, and Manjoume. First year ends for Kenzan. Year Three: 2006-2007: 2006: October: Third year for Juudai, Shou, Asuka, Misawa, Fubuki, and Manjoume begins. Kenzan's second year at DA begins; Rei's first year at DA officially begins. Cobra distributes the dis-belts. Jim vs. Kenzan. 2006: November: Amon vs. Manjoume. Satou vs. Juudai. Johan vs. Geise. Cobra vs. Juudai. Cobra dies after that; the school is sent to Sand World. Misawa rejoins them. Johan duels Hell Kaiser to acquire Rainbow Dragon; it ends with no victor. Juudai and Johan duel Yubel-possessed Martin and Johan and Yubel lose the duel, thanks to Johan. Later on the day of their return, Juudai finds out about the gate and crosses over with Shou, Kenzan, Asuka, Fubuki, O'Brien, Jim, Manjoume, and Misawa. Chronos, Echo, Ryou, and Edo are also swept up in the gateway. By the end of November, Juudai has dueled Brron, his full powers as Haou activate, and Manjoume, Asuka, Fubuki, and Kenzan are dead. Juudai gathers an army and begins to conquer Dark World, using the deaths of those who oppose him to create Super Fusion. 2006: December: Ryou and Shou cross paths when Shou saves Ojama Yellow from Devil Dozer. Shou determines to watch over Juudai, no matter what, to prove their friendship. Jim and O'Brien (and later Shou) find out that Juudai is Haou. Jim duels Haou, loses, and dies. O'Brien runs in terror. 2007: January: O'Brien meets Sea God's Priestess, gets his courage refired up, duels Skull Bishop, and later Haou, which duel ends in a tie. Amon vs. Edo. Juudai vs. Guardian Baou. Ryou vs. Yubel-possessed!Johan. Amon vs. Yubel-possessed!Johan. Juudai returns a week after everyone else. Ryou returns at an unspecified time after that. Misawa chooses to remain with Taniya and her people, since he feels he is of more use there than on Earth. 2007: February: Juudai duels Trueman and later Fubuki to uncover the secrets of Darkness and the existence of Fujiwara Yuusuke. Honest walks among them disguised as Fujiwara, brainwashing most of them into believing that he is a trusted friend. After his ruse fails, he destroys the Abandoned Dorm. After telling Juudai about Darkness's slow strengthening in the monster worlds, Honest almost dies, until Juudai accepts him into his soul and deck. 2007: March: Kenzan and Rei arrange the pair duels for the senior students. Asuka decides to attend college in America. 2007: April: Inotsume challenges Ryou, who attempts the duel and fails due to lack of strength. At some later point, he also meets Yuusei and Yuugi and duels Paradox. The End Your true powers have yet to be awakened, Juudai. "The source of every conflict lies in the struggle between light and darkness. The Gentle Darkness, nurturer of life, is now on the verge of ruin by the Light of Destruction. You possess the righteous power of darkness that can fight that light." "The righteous power of darkness.
