Poll: For "Darkness Comes Before the Dawn," should I go with Jason/Reyna or Jason/Piper as a pairing? Vote Now!
Author has written 13 stories for Detective Conan/Case Closed, Sherlock, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Doctor Who, and Hetalia - Axis Powers.
Alright, I'm cleaning this page up a little bit, so...
Hi. I'm Atheleia. If you've been in the Detective Conan fandom for a few years, I was known as tonsostuff. I've changed my name because a) tonsostuff was really a rather stupid name that an indecisive kid chose; and b) because it reflects a little how I've changed over the past few years.
To be quite frank, you shouldn't expect me to stay in any single fandom long enough to finish a long piece. I promise, promise, promise I will wrap up Darkness Comes Before the Dawn. I had it all plotted out. But what some people thought of as my "crowning achievement" (and also simultaneously, the one work I'm most ashamed of)—Taken—was never completed though I spent almost a year and a half painstakingly working my way at it.
Currently I don't write much on Fanfiction.net anymore. You can find me on Ao3. Not that I write much there either.
What you'll likely see from me...my previous fandoms were Detective Conan and Percy Jackson. I am currently in Sherlock, Doctor Who, and Supernatural; however I write very little for any of the above. You might see me in Marvel or Hetalia. I write most for Hetalia but I post very little of my writing on Fanfiction.net anymore.
Do you plan to finish Darkness Comes Before the Dawn/Forever Young?
Yes and yes. I promised myself I would finish them; at the very least, I will most certainly finish Darkness Comes Before the Dawn. I am no longer that attached to the Percy Jackson series (they were written more aimed towards a preteen group and to be honest I really don't like what Riordan is doing with the HoO series) but I did plot out so much for Darkness that it'd be shameful to stop. Forever Young I have less plotted out but it was something I was excited for so we'll see how that turns out.
I can't believe you discontinued Taken! Please, will you start it again?
No. I will not, under any circumstances, ever continue Taken. It was poorly written by a kid who thought she could write well. Perhaps she did in a way, but the plot holes are numerous. The story would have to be rewritten from the ground up for me to be satisfied. I can't take the time to do that now. I have been out of the Detective Conan fandom for over two years now; I have no desire to ever go back. Taken was wonderful for me at the time. It proved to me I could write, that people were willing to read my writing. But even then...Taken also represented a rather bad part of my life so far. Which sounds crappy and cheesy, I know, since I'm young and have barely lived, but it's true. I left the fandom because I fell out of love with Detective Conan and where it was heading, but also because I had a few bad experiences. Most of them were my fault, but I left it all behind. I moved on and I'm happier now and I'd really rather not go back. I'm sorry to disappoint people because you really were the best. Your reviews made my day; every time after I published a chapter I just stared at my email with joy. You guys always made my day. And I hated to disappoint you, I really did, but at the time I was struggling a lot and I had no one to turn to. Sure, Taken itself isn't related to what happened then, but I ended up linking everything about how I was then to it. It's why I switched schools, why I moved, why I dropped out of the fandom...it was rough. I'm not going back.
You sound harsh. :/ Won't you even consider?
I do, don't I? I'm usually not. And I'm sorry to disappoint people, I truly am. But no. I won't consider it. I'd be happy for other people to take a shot because it really was a good idea...just not one that I could ultimately execute. I don't want people to gain any false hopes about the subject. But like I said. Taken to me still symbolizes a part of my life when I was depressed and felt really rather shitty. I'm glad I got out of it. So thank you for continuing with me on this journey and I'm sorry to have to step away, but those are the facts and I'm not going back.
Will you write anything else/are you still writing?
Of course! I could never stop. :) Darkness Comes Before the Dawn started shortly after my departure from Detective Conan. Strangely, I think of that as my year on hiatus from writing. Around September of 2013, I discovered roleplaying. Nah, not the bedroom kind...the innocent sort. I like to call it collab writing. It's great, really. You can never completely anticipate what's going to happen and you become so much more involved in your character because you get to focus on them. The people I write with are so knowledgable about their characters and have such great writing...it's honestly intimidating. I'm the youngest among them and I'm amazed at what they can do. Also they're all beautiful, vibrant people with amazing personalities. They're so different yet they're somehow all here and willing to write with me. They're so much better than me in terms of writing and personality. It's an honor to write with them.
But that being said, I rarely write to publish on Fanfiction.net anymore. I probably will at some point in the future. But I'm not in any fandom right now that would offer me enough material to do so.
If you've read this far you deserve a prize. Jeez, this is just me ranting. XD Thank you. For whatever reason you came here, thank you so much.
STORIES IN PROGRESS
Darkness Comes Before the Dawn: The Battle of Camp Jupiter ended with a crash and the demigods have scattered. Some remain together, but more are dead or missing, including one Percy Jackson. After a similar attack on Camp Half-Blood, the situation is even worse. Finally, in desperation, a quest is sent out. They can only hope it isn't too late. Set about four months after the Battle of Camp Jupiter. Percabeth.
Forever Young: It was all an accident. This wasn't supposed to happen, but it did. The Achilles Heel has another secret, one that defies normality, even for demigods. Percy Jackson has just woken up from a 75-year coma...and he still looks exactly the same.
Tips for Writers:
- Go back and edit. It pays off. Try spell-check too, it usually works. Oh, and do your research properly.
- Don't write "I suck at summaries, so just read it" because that discourages most people from reading it. As long as you try your best, people will want to try it out.
- Go back and read what you've written before you publish it. If you have to read a sentence twice to understand it, then change it, because your reader won't have any idea what you're talking about.
- Try not to start stories you won't finish (I am officially a hypocrite on this, but I'm trying! I've already sworn to myself that I will finish Taken before I start any other story, not including oneshots)
- Don't write "no flames!" or "don't read if you don't like" or something of that sort. This shows that the writer has a lack of confidence in their own writing. If you've got decent reviewers, they will try to be unbiased (if you have pairings, etc.). It's perfectly acceptable to tell the reader what things they should expect from the story, but don't try to dissuade people who don't share your view (Example: writing, Character1XCharacter2)
- Make an Outline: If there's anyone who hates planning out stories more than me...well, I'm sorry to tell you that if you want a successful story, you're going to have to make some form of a plan. Specifics are amazing. An outline/plan keeps you motivated and keeps you going and you won't get three chapters in and realize you've completely gotten off topic. An outline gives you a goal to work towards. At the same time...be flexible. Your characters will change as you get to know them better. Your writing will change too. Anticipate that and be willing to shift things around.
Come Back, Kudo. Come Back Alive: A short (very short!) piece on how Heiji might've felt after Conan's phone call in The Raven Chaser. Status: Complete
Forever: A songfic. What might be running through Conan's head as he takes his last breaths. Done with the song Forever by Plus One. Status: Complete
Poker Face: 10 years ago, Hakuba revealed Kaito's identity to the world. 10 years later, they meet again. Alone. What do they have to say to each other? Status: Complete
You'll Never Know: I got bored, so I posted an idea of mine. All told from Ai's point of view: on life, family, tragedy, fate, and love. Some happy, some sad, some sweet, some bitter. Published since I have a major case of Writers' block and this was easy and fun to write about. Short, sweet, simple, that's all I aim for. Status: Discontinued (Note: May occasionally be updated as it is a collection of random oneshots)
Taken: What if Gin hadn't immediately killed Irish in "The Raven Chaser"? What if Conan had been captured, with Irish knowing his true identity? Based on the 13th DC movie, "The Raven Chaser", will definitely spoil movie. Chapter 8 up! Status: Discontinued
Reset My Life: When Conan is given a chance to go back to the day everything changed, he takes it. With the side effect of Conan's memories lost and a voice calling out to him, what will he do? Did he make the right choice? Status: Discontinued

Drowning: It is almost the 100th day since Percy was brought deep into the ocean by Polybotes to be tortured. It is his birthday. Percy doesn't think he can last much longer. Minor spoilers for the Son of Neptune. Two-shot. Status: Complete

3. Coming Home Series by Becky Tailweaver (In Progress; On Hiatus ?)
III. Coming Home
Note: The Magic Bullet Murder Case is actually the sequel to The Case of the Hidden Epidemic. There is no united name for which the two (or three, if you count The Case of the Haywire Heist) thus they are put separately. They do not need to be read together, however, this is highly recommended.
