I am Yikari and I am here to read and appreciate interesting fanfiction.
I am male
I am 20 years old
I live in N. Novgorod.
I'm strangely fascinated with many of sideline characters of various anime and absolutely love tinkering with them and putting them in all sorts of difficult situations inside my head...
I happen to dislike yaoi\yuri in the stories I read. I don't really know why, maybe I've just never read the good ones - my sister finds them interesting enough to sit in net all night long...
You can find me in:
Bleach, Naruto and Code Geass mainly; also in FF VII/VIII/X, Fullmetal Alchemist, Harry Potter and some of the others occasionally.
As for my own work, it's nothing to write home about - that's for sure.
Currently (as of 17\06\10) I'm trying to compose the first chapter of my own version of Naruto's second season while trying to fight off relentless assault plot bunnies are laying on my mind every waking moment (the crossover ones seem more appealing by the day...). Hopefully I'll be able to post it some time this year (XD).
As of 21\05\11 - still not postable :(
Hmm... It seems that I've finaly been able to decide which of the numerous fanfic ideas I should scrap before even starting on them. And that leaves me with three concepts:
1). A Naruto AU.
The basic premise was to fool around with the (lack of) plot in Shippuden part of the series, play up various background characters' roles and plots surrounding them, add a bit of coherence and depth to Naruto himself...
As it turned out later, there were a couple of things I'd need to shift around in that whole mess that was Chuunin Exams, add some minor scenes throughout the rest of the first part with the use of flashbacks and change the emphasis of existing canon scenes - all to plug in some of the most obvious plot holes and start a couple of plot threads that would be impossible otherwise.
But still, even with all that adjustments (and there will be more to come, if this story will ever see the light of day), the main point of divergence remained pretty much the same since this skeleton of a story was formed: right after the disastrous experiment with the Fox's power Jiraya and Naruto tried to do during the timeskip, Samehada's unique tracking ability lead Kisame and Itachi to their location. Epic confrontation ensues. At the end of it all, Jiraya manages to escape with his life intact. But during all that chaos he was separated from Naruto. Despite all the resources at his disposal the Toad Sage is unable find the missing student and is forced to send dire news back to Konoha: Genin Uzumaki Naruto is missing, presumed dead.
Two and half years after that day Naruto suddenly shows up alive and well - that's where the story starts...
As of 29\11\11 this stump of a story is the nearest one to having readable prologue. But, even, though I could technically prepare it for reading in a week's time, most likely I'll have to delay the posting until the whole first arc is complete - some plot points are still up in the air and it may need editing later on.
2). A Bleach AU.
Now that I think about it, the idea of Ichigo having an anime-esque amnesia is overdone. Urgh. Had to send almost three chapters' worth of drafts to the trash bin. But not all is lost yet.
After some searching for useful material among TVtropes, unresolved canon plot threads and my own cranium, I've composed a list of plot points I can use to expand the Big Bad's (and quite a bit of Lesser Bads' too) motivation, some of the workings of Seiretei, inner conflicts in the Soul Society, extrapolate the undeveloped aspects of mechanics shown to the specifics favouring facilitation of kickassery and termination of boredom, etc...
Having OOC Ichigo reestablishing his relations with various characters in unusual ways while trying to find his identity could serve as an interesting core for such a story. The option of crossovering it with the story above is just a bonus ^.^
3). A Code Geass AU.
This little tidbit has started as a simple question. What could be done to make Lelouch less of an obstinate arrogant self-deceiver than he is in canon with as much changes to canon as possible?
My answer to that was: make it so that Lelouch lost sight of his dear blind crippled sister during the invasion, but don't let him die or do something especially stupid by placing Suzaku with him.
Though I'd fleshed out (somewhat) the resulting Lelouch and the way he would interact with other characters, the plotline didn't proceed beyond the generic "fix fic that kicks every pet peeve along the way". The main reason: with quite different Lelouch, the plot would have mighty changes too. And, however full of holes the canon is, I simply cannot think up a coherent story beyond the events of the first episode. So, the fic is not going anywhere for even longer time than the above, and that's saying something!
Anyways, if anyone has some future fic ideas to discuss, I'll be glad to join in.
