Author has written 22 stories for Sonic the Hedgehog, One Piece, Ninja Turtles, Pokémon, Fairy Tail, Ico, My Hero Academia/僕のヒーローアカデミア, Kimetsu no Yaiba/鬼滅の刃, Digimon, Dragon Ball, and Mario. Hello ! I'm still here! ... Yeah. Life goes on, priorities change, but writing will forever be in my blood. It occurs to me that those who know what they're doing- or at least, those who pretend to, which is better than I can say for myself- use this space for things like update schedules and relevant details that readers might be interested in. Therefore, here's some of that. I'll add dates and other things later on. For today, all of these details have been newly posted here. The Coward's Redemption: The first arc of the story has been posted. As I mentioned in the first author's note, the idea for the story came to me around a year ago now, and I was working on it for ten months, at least eight consistently, before I began posting any of it. I did so because I wanted a buffer of a sort, I suppose. I'm as far as the Skypeia arc, and that's where a few hurdles have given me trouble. I request your patience and allow a break between the end of this first arc and the beginning of the next so that I can tackle Skypeia. I'll give myself three weeks for that, and by the end of the fourth, progress or not, I'll provide the next update. I wouldn't approach the schedule the way I am if I didn't care immensely for this story, and I desperately want to do it right. 9/19: I live. I'll respond to reviews in the morning. I love you all. Thank you. Please stay safe and healthy out there. Chapter 7: Luffy's 'new' attack is the Gomu Gomu Boomerang, by the way. While I'm on the subject, Coby's fruit, Toki Toki, translates to Time Time, and Shoukan means Redemption. Chapter 9: For the record, I have nothing against Nathan Drake. I haven't even played any of the Uncharted games, I only know about his propensity for wisecracking one-liners despite perilous situations. I just thought that attitude would get him more or less reamed in a world like One Piece. Chapter 15 (16th posted, named 15): I got the idea of writing from the katana's perspectives from A Different Take by pervertmonster. Picture the One Piece storyline darker and suited to a soundtrack by the band Disturbed rather than uplifting wind and percussion. Not updating anymore that I know of, but credit where it's due. I have made a point to respond to all reviews I can without posting a review myself (for obvious reasons), and so to those reading on Ao3, I do read and appreciate each and every comment I receive. I do not reply to them on Ao3 because, unlike , doing so appears as another comment, and, to me, it feels like artificially inflating the number of comments on the story. Immersion Therapy: This is intended to be a mostly light-hearted first romp through the BNHA fandom for me- closer to a sort of stress relief than a new major project. Might evolve slightly like What's Left Unsaid. In sum, just another story wherein 1-A is a family and Eri is adorable. Because there aren't enough of those in the fandom archive, right? What's Left Unsaid: More of an indulgence than anything. It's not really a story, so I won't make any promises about updates. This and something else that's niggling the spaces of my mind not occupied by Coward's Redemption will probably be more of a way to detox than anything. Sporadic is the word I'm looking for, and one that readers aren't all too fond of. Caught Off Guard: Obviously there won't be any updates for this. It's complete, it's been complete since I spent three straight days writing it and then posted it years ago. Nevertheless, I do feel the need to say... *Full prostration* I'M SORRY! Looking back, I made Sanji commit a grossly out of character act- I made him take away someone else's food. He would never do such a thing, short of possession or mind control or some fundamentally scarring event in his childhood, and I had none of those. The story stemmed from what it would take for him to act a little out of character, but not like that! FORGIVE ME, SANJI! Nagaro Monosuto: Working title and main character name of the other indulgent fic I'm chewing on. Details will be forthcoming when they're actually relevant and I'm ready to consider posting. Mutual Burns: I'm an adult, so I'll be an adult about this- I haven't thought about the fic for a couple years now. I can force myself to call up certain imagined scenes, but really, the whole story was more or less just one long series of fights and clashes. Cool and flashy fights, I suppose. Still, I don't anticipate wrapping it up anytime soon. If that changes, will be the first to know. Passing Flame: More adulthood time. This one at least has more diversity in what I had planned than MB. Rest assured, if I return to it, I'll put notice up on here. Everything Else: Yeah, I'm casting a wide net, but let's be honest, everything else is comprised of stuff I started almost a decade ago. If it's not been finished, short of a serious de-angst-ification, I'm not going to revisit them. I can do angst better now, but looking at the stuff I wrote when I was fifteen hurts my eyes a little bit. An occupational hazard of writing, that. Fear not, I will never take down anything I post on here. The one thing worse than a story much enjoyed being left unfinished is one much enjoyed that suddenly disappears. I've got- one, two... a few other story ideas rolling around in my mind that may see the light of day, many that even grace the printer paper pages I have scattered around as my notes and first drafts. One in particular is about as fleshed out as Coward's Redemption (I was working on it in tandem), though that one's suffering from its own block for different reasons. As ever, I am grateful for your feedback, for your time to read my content, and for and Ao3 for providing a place for me to share the ideas. Shadic's Principles Train like a Saiyan Party like a Pirate Plan like a Ninja Fight like a Scout Adapt like a Joestar Work like a Hunter Think like an Alchemist Rage like the Black Swordsman Love like a Samurai Live like a Shonen Hero Anime I adore: DBZ, GT inclusive because Super Saiyans (or Saiyajins, depending on weeaboo levels) are awesome, Naruto, One Piece though I haven't checked in for a while, Fairy Tail of course, FMA and Brotherhood (I still need to watch the thing!), HunterxHunter, Digimon, Pokémon (I'm old-school though so nothing past Johto will I know). I got a niche, they fill it. OH! Hajime no Ippo is BA! Love me some introverted boxing action. One Punch Man is great. I liked Blue Exorcist, and enjoyed The Devil is a Part-Timer (haven't read the manga for either of those, though.) I've started Death Note, but each episode requires a lot of concentration and the genre isn't one of my very favorites so I'm taking it very slow. I binged Noragami and Noragami... er, (checks the name) Aragoto within the same month, and enjoyed both of them, because they're funny and interesting! In the same span of time I also binged the first season of Black Butler, which I liked because of the setting and the demons mixed with a bit of a Sherlock Holmes/young Batman vibe from the young master whose name escapes me. ... I binged a few different anime this January, I guess. Hrm. Ah well! Cartoons: I can't make this list now, I'd be here all night. Video games: Mario, Sonic (I 100 06, that's how dedicated I am. It was a MASSIVE migraine.), Zelda, Punch-Out! (HELL YEAH). Characters I Love- I can't put just one for each anime, that'd be boring. Fairy Tail Favorite character- Natsu. For aforementioned beloved idiot hero reasons. Most interesting character- Hm... Gray, Gajeel and Laxus all come to mind for this one. Gray because of his disposition, Gajeel because we know so little about him, Laxus for similar reasons and his daddy nonsense. Who I'd want to spend a day chilling with: Erza. Or Lucy. Or Lily. Nothing bad would ever come my way if I just gave Erza her favorite dessert, and as serious as she is, she'd be endlessly entertaining so long as I don't break any of her rules. Lucy and I share the writer thing, and I think we could talk about fairy tales and theory craft on story ideas all day. Lily is just so understated BA that even if he refused to acknowledge my presence (not unlikely given that he's Gajeel's cat), I'd love to see his Musica sword in action just once. Also, his deadpan for everything ridiculous in Fairy Tail would be hilarious to document. Who I'd wanna travel with: Cana. Or her pops. With Cana's alcohol consumption, I presume I'd be able to learn a lot about the hilarious stuff about the guild that only she and Mira know. My head canon makes the two of them very close friends given that Mira tends the bar and Cana never really sits anywhere else during the day. With Gildarts, though, I imagine I'd need to tread carefully at all times just because he's got way too much magic power. But I do love a challenge and with him, I'd be hella stronger in just a day. HunterxHunter Favorite character- Mmmm... Gon. So far. Mainly for reasons that he's got an overarching goal and he's more than just an idiot hero to a large extent. Most interesting character- Killua/Kurapika. Hands down, these two got some deep dark stuff going on. I haven't watched everything in the anime that's come out yet, but I could learn about either of these two for days. Funniest character- Leorio. I can't stand what's-his-fatass-face from the Hunter exam. I get that he's supposed to be funny to an extent too, but much like Leorio, I just find him aggravating. Leorio's tragic backstory also interests me because that tragedy is accentuated by his loud and occasionally overtly obnoxious character. Though sometimes the absolute LACK OF F*S that Killua gives throughout the anime also makes me laugh. Not because it's comedy- it's just AWESOME. Dude (because there's really only about a half dozen females so far as I can see) I do NOT want to chill with- Hisoka. For obvious reasons. The guy is damn creepy, looks and acts like the Joker with a sado-masochist fetish that makes my spine shiver, and just... no. ALTHOUGH. Genthru has got to be given honorable mention for being plain psychotic. Even if he is driven more by greed than anything else, the guy murdered at least as many people as Gon's clown stalker/fan. Hajime no Ippo Favorite character- Ngh! I love them all! I know I usually go for the protagonist, but... MAMORU MF TAKAMURA! YOSHA! Biggest baddest flop- Aoki. Kimura to an extent, but Aoki gets the short end of the stick no matter what to an even larger degree, and I love him for putting up with it. Punch I want to learn- Hm. Takamura's kind of out of this one, since every punch he throws is of Sunday punch caliber. Kimura's Dragon Fish blow was incredible. Dempsey Roll would also be awesome. Who I want to chill with- ... Coach. The rest of these guys are total jackasses! Ippo's much calmer, but he's got an obsession problem and a self-confidence issue that rivals Peter Parker's guilt complex. With Coach, I'd still be getting yelled at, but I'd be learning a lot of things. Pokémon Favorite character- Eh... Pikachu. Pikachu is loyal, started with an attitude, keeps Ash in line, has a great character development from being a scaredy mouse to taking on literally any opponent that Ash pits him against. Do not screw with this little guy once he grows a pair. He'll take you into a world of hurt. Most interesting character- Mewtwo. The humans in this show for the most part can lose massive screen time and I'd still be happy. Largely because every new rival Ash gets has to be a huge dick for the entirety of a season without the compensating factor of being Gary MF Oak. Call me old or a stickler, I've got no problems with the new Pokémon, just the way the anime works, in large part because Ash keeps regressing in terms of age. I digress. Mewtwo because he's got a screwed up backstory, a ton of potential character development, and his powers are of course ridiculously awesome. Broest brosif- Brock. No, I'm serious. Brock Takeshi what'shisothername. Dude starts out as a 'bad guy', turns out to be the coolest big bro in the history of ever, and he basically plays papa to every Pokémon he comes across. Regardless of his perverted tendencies, I'd appreciate having him on my side. Fave Pokémon- Char-I-Zard. Lizardon. Take your pick. Whatever you wanna call 'im, that's my guy. Say what you will, his typing isn't fantastic, but give me a line up of all the starters ever, I might hesitate for two seconds due to the promise of fire/fighting. Charizard. Fan Characters You'll Run Into (This is ALSO five years old! Oh, nostalgia! Hand-in-hand with embarrassment!) Jenso: One of the fan characters mentioned above, this guy isn't my creation. I claim no credit for him whatsoever. As for a description, he's essentially Mario, only several times more powerful. The only confirmation of this strength is that he's been seen getting crushed between hands with the strength to shatter a small mountain, and was then thrown by the same hands into the ground, his impact making a huge crater. His friends thought he was dead, but a loud snore from Jenso confirmed he was perfectly fine, sound asleep. He has also exhibited the ability to freely wield flames with his hands, and, like Mario, can infuse the flames with his fists. His main differences in appearance from Mario include having a yellow cap and shirt, with orange overalls, and a bold orange J on his hat. Ryu: A Yoshi of the dragon tribe, I am proud to say that this character is in fact my creation, aside from the Yoshi aspect. Like the rest of his tribe, he is colored black, has dragon like wings in contrast to the blue Yoshi, with oval feathered wings, and has the ability to breathe fire like the red Yoshi, cause minor tremors with his feet like the yellow Yoshi and fly like the blue Yoshi. There's something else that also makes the dragon Yoshi special and unique, but that will be revealed in time. Ronin: A warrior who's name literally means 'Samurai without a master', it may be presumed he is capable of amazing feats of strength, having been threatened by Jenso with a fireball and not even flinching. Always wearing a cloak, it is unknown to all except Jenso and Ryu who and what this mysterious figure is. Despite his secretive nature, he is fortunately fighting alongside the good guys. Non-Fan/Official Characters You'll Run Into (Two descriptions, one for the 'Real World' one for in the stories of mine they appear in. Edit: This stuff is like FIVE years old, but just for the heck of it, I'll leave it here!) Mario Real World: Nintendo's mascot for nearly 30 years now, this chubby, mute plumber never fails to leap, dash, fly or swim past any obstacle or enemy in his path to save Princess Peach, regardless of her kidnapper. (Though it's still usually Bowser who's behind it.) He's gone through many changes as he's jumped from 2D to 3D and back again in his numerous games, many requiring that he befriend creatures along the way, and in some cases, partner up with his little brother, Luigi. Story(s): A loyal older brother, an experienced fighter, and a wielder of fire, Mario is a hero of the Mushroom Kingdom. Protective of his little brother, Luigi, Mario is constantly concerned about him when they are separated for lengthened periods of time. Though not as intensely as for his brother, Mario does also share a protective instinct in regards to his friends, willing to put his own safety at great risk to keep them from harm. It is because of this protective instinct that Mario is currently in a semi-depressed and guilty state of mind after being gone from the Mushroom Kingdom for a week. Signature Technique(s): Flame Dragon Luigi Real World: Younger brother of Nintendo's prime mascot, Mario, Luigi has never enjoyed the kind of limelight his brother has, despite having joined Mario on multiple adventures and a couple of his own. His primary differences between himself and his older brother is that this green-clad plumber is taller, skinnier, and, in the 2D games, can run slightly faster and jump a little higher. Because his brother is usually the one who gets all the praise, Luigi's confidence has suffered as a result, usually preferring to stay behind and be the brothers' housekeeper whenever Mario is away, showing his tendency towards cowardice. Despite this, should his brother ever need his help, Luigi will loyally pull through without fail in the end. Story(s): Luigi seems to have made progress in regards to coming to terms with his fearfulness, and has exhibited courage in situations he previously might not have. He still has his moments of fearfulness, however, such as when he met his first Chaos clone in the forest and ran out into Robotnik's polluted city. He has proven extremely loyal, even to those who he's only recently met, i.e. Tails and Knuckles, such as when they were paralyzed and he defended them from Robotnik's flying Mechs. He has also shown a high level of adaptability, able to figure out that the Chaos clones would be weak against his thunderhand just by looking at them. Signature Technique(s): Thunder Serpent Sonic Real World: Sega's answer to Nintendo's Mario, the speedy blue mascot has been going strong for almost 20 years. Sonic has a fairly short temper, but never allows dark emotions get the best of him, always remaining confident. He takes his role as a hero seriously, though not so much so that he puts himself above having a good time along the way. He especially seems to enjoy fighting his arch-nemesis, Dr. Robotnik/Eggman, playfully insulting the evil scientist even when faced with overwhelming odds. Sonic almost always fights solo or with his closest friend and sidekick, Miles "Tails" Prower. Amongst Sonic's other occasional fighting partners, Sonic has the strongest bonds with Knuckles and Tails, though he will run to anyone's aid, regardless of whether or not he knows them. Story(s): The Final Game- Sonic's fun-loving attitude has been extremely toned down in place of a much more serious side which has rarely been seen. Though not as apparently as Mario, Sonic does have regrets in regards to the state he left things in Mobius during the week he was recovering at the Gateway prior to the beginning of the story. Sonic has showed a partial upbeat demeanor, though only when working alongside his old rival and good friend, Mario. Like his chubby rival, Sonic is an extremely strong fighter, able to alter his fighting style as needed to adapt to the enemies present in the Mushroom Kingdom. Though he does dream of Mobius, Sonic seems to be of the mindset that Tails and Knuckles will be able to hold up until he finds a way back home. STH: Ten Years Later- Bound to a wheelchair due to having lost his legs ten years ago, Sonic's handicapped state has left the remaining inhabitants of Mobius disheartened and broken. Not one to be saddened by anything, Sonic has, with effort, maintained his cheerful and upbeat personality, while at the same time growing intensely more serious. The unofficial leader of the group of survivors, Sonic has clearly learned how to make fast decisions when required, and usually leading to beneficial results. His fighting prowess seems to have diminished only minimally, if at all, despite his severe handicapped state. Having taken Tails as his student in learning how to fight, the blue hedgehog's hope is that the young fox will one day grow strong enough to do what he cannot. |
