Alright, you little heathens, I’m sure you’ve been hearing about this for the last few days courtesy of the lovely ladies on twitter typing their thumbs off to spread the word. Don’t think we haven’t noticed- or that we don’t appreciate the lurve, because we most certainly do. Officially, we are announcing the 7 Deadly Sins Contest.
Lust. Wrath. Greed. Envy. Pride. Sloth. Gluttony.
This will be an M Rated contest, which means all entries must include something that would make us want to run to the nearest confessional and beg forgiveness for all of our impure thoughts. But since lust will be required for this contest, we’re requiring that you use at least one of the other sins at some point in your story. The more the sin, the better. If you can somehow figure out a way to use all 7 in your one shot, well, you’re our kind of writer.
All entries must feature Eric and Sookie as the main couple. Other characters are welcome to join the fun, but they shouldn't be your main players.
All entries must use at least one of the six remaining sins outside of lust.
All entries must have lusty citrus in them. With this particular pairing, lust is... well... a must. I apologize for rhyming *hangs head*
AU & AH entries are totally acceptable here. There will be no discrimination against an Eric with a pulse, I promise.
If you're not legally allowed to vote, buy cigarettes or porn then you need to click that sweet little back button on your browser. In other words, if you're under 18, it's no dice for you.
All entries must be a one-shot and must be a new story with a minimum 2,500 words. Max 10,000. By all means, feel free to continue your one shot after the contest has ended. Please adhere to the word count rule. We’re serious.
You may submit more than one story, but 2 is the limit. No more than two one-shots per author.
Collaborations are allowed. (Thanks to chiisai-kitty for asking that question)
All entries must be beta'd. No exceptions. If you need help finding a beta there is a thread on The Sookieverse forum to help you find one.
All entries must be submitted no later than 11:59 PM CST on September 1st. You snooze, you lose. Voting will open to the public on or around September 14th.
Once your story is complete and beta’d, please send us a copy of it so that it can be uploaded through the special page made for this contest. Anonymity is fun and only the Mods will know who the authors are. Please email your document to 7deadlysinscontest(dot)gmail(dot)com for entrance into the contest. Make sure your document is the way you’d like it to appear when posted, as the mods will not be making any edits for you. What we see is what you get.
All entries must feature the name of the contest in their story description, and the following heading:
Eric & Sookie 7 Deadly Sins Contest
Your Pen name:
Please do not post your story from your user account until after the contest winners have been announced. We want this to be a blind vote. It’s more fun that way.
There's rules for a reason, baby birds. We want everyone to have fun, but things can get a bit chaotic, so help us to keep things somewhat orderly. Happy writing!

makesmyheadspin (Meg)- Founder & Ringmaster; I’m looking forward to seeing what sorty of tasty nomnoms you can come up with.
Please don't contact the judges with questions. If you have any you can PM this account, Meg, Vickie or Tammy. We'll do our best to answer any questions you may have.
Also please note that the judges & mods will be unable to offer their services as a beta for this contest. While this is a contest about sin, we still want to try to have a level playing field. We won’t be playing favorites here.
So what’s the prize for doing all this? Bragging rights. This is all about the fun of it. There won’t be any fancy prizes other than being able to say that you won, were a finalist or competed in this contest. What can we say? We’re poor writers ourselves *shrugs*
The contest is now closed. Congratulations to Slacker Dee, who won the judge's vote for her story "Taking Chances" and the popular vote for "Bonfires, Tequila and Cameras". Thank you to all who entered the contest.
