Author has written 10 stories for Supernatural.
Hi I'm 43 and hail from Scotland.
I've been a member of the site since July 2010 and it took quite some time to put any details into my profile.
So, if you're interested here's some info about me.
I've been reading and adoring fanfiction for years, Buffy, Angel, SG1 and Supernatural being my all time favourites.
Favourite Movies: Avatar (Amazing in 3D) Armageddon, Pretty Woman, the original Alien movies (the AVP movies killed the franchise for me!), Speed, Matrix and generally every musical ever written. I'll watch any movie once, good or bad just to form my own opinion. As a result I've watched a lot of great movies and a lot of not so great movies. I love Action, Adventure, Horror, Musicals and Chick Flicks so I'm basically a movie freak. :-) I try to go to the movies at least a couple of times a month, thank God for Orange Wednesdays.
Favourite Authors: Steven King, John Grisham, Cathy Riechs, Patricia Cornwall and Nora Roberts (I'm sure there are a few more in there!) and have hundreds of books in my collection. I started reading my mom's old Mills & Boon romance noval's (did I just own up to that!! lol) when I was 14 and became addicted to the written word. I lose myself in the stories that allow my imagination to run wild.
Favourite Music: I don't really have any specific artist that is my favourite. I like what I like ;-)
Writing: For as long as I can remember I always wanted to write, but never had the confidence to put pen to paper. Supernatural Fanfiction has allowed me to test the waters and see if I can write stories that people can enjoy. I love to write about the boys and since I started writing in July 2010 I have tried to stay true to the characters and only write stories sympathetic to the show. My writing is still in its infancy but I hope I'm getting better.
I have re-read some of my earlier fics and oh my God do they need work. I've finally bitten the bullet and am going to edit then repost all the updated versions of the stories. I still love the stories and was proud that I managed to produce them but they could definitely be better. If you read them, I promise my writing does get better.
OC/OFC/Sister Fics: Here's the thing I wrote my first story The Other Winchester before I knew that there was an aversion to sister fics. I've always felt that female characters get a bum rap on Supernatural and the introduction of a strong female character, not just shoehorned in as a love interest would be great. I don't know why I wrote in a sister, it just seemed that with family meaning so much to Sam and Dean that there was lots of room for one, without taking away from the boys relationship.
The term "Mary Sue" really made me stop and think. Personally I think that there is room in any good story for original characters, provided they are done well. If they are they can really enhance and bring a story to life. The writers write in new characters in guest roles, why can't we? Feel free to PM me if you want to debate the issue.
Reviews: Feed the creative mind - It's more than that for me though. When I write I become so entrenched in telling the story that I want to share the experience with other people in the fandom that I love. I like reviews because it allows me to do that. I PLEDGE TO REVIEW EVERY STORY THAT I READ.
Open Dialogue: I love to chat with readers and other authors. It's great to know what other people are thinking and loving.
