Author has written 24 stories for Harry Potter, Misc. Plays/Musicals, StarTrek: The Original Series, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Star Wars, Les Miserables, Atlas Shrugged, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and Discworld.
Although pretty much all the fanfic I write is Potterverse stuff, I haven't read the books in several years (and I have not and do not intend to read Deathly Hallows) and I don't actually like Harry himself that well. And, well, it's all a bit AU, but considering the wide variety of fics that exist, I don't think my family constructions are too terribly outlandish. I don't know when you'll get to hear about my OCs, though, since they are somewhat erratically written up and they exist so vividly in my head (although they evolve a little over the years) that it can be a little hard to introduce them when you don't know them!
I prefer fairly well-written, not overly cliched stories, and though I, being the Mizzie and Pratchettian that I am, don't mind liberal sprinklings of decently used italicization, parentheses, footnotes, semicolons, overly long sentences, ellipses, and such, I don't enjoy stories that are full of spelling and grammatical errors. I do read a lot of SS/HG, although I don't write the ship.
One part of my Alternate Universe involves some shifts in character age, so be forewarned.
I pair Severus with an original character, Minerva w. TMR/LV, RL/NT, Hr/BZ, D/G, H/G, LM/NM, and, probably the only other canonical pairing, Eileen Prince with Tobias Snape.
I do sometimes read HG/TMR fics, and for some reason or another, I do pair up my original Gaunts in relationships that verge on incestuous, but they're not very romantic, and, hey, they're purebloods, what do you expect? (About the most romantic they get is love potion induced infatuation-gone-wrong)
After spotting a community called "Slash is Like Coffee", I must say I find it a very apropos analogy, as I very happily do entirely without both.
Regarding the avatar: I made up some wizarding family seals. The main one is the Prince-Mazzim-Gaunt combination, embellished with a few assorted symbols of associated families. At bottom are: Gaunt, Malfoy, and Black. I'm not entirely satisfied with Malfoy and Black yet, but, hey, I'm not a great artist, and it's Paint!
It has become clear to me that I really prefer writing about the old Slytherins, my own Ravenclaws, and only my own future gens over the book era and the canonical next gen. (Not that (See: Deathly Hallows, handschuhmaus's having not read) I could write much about them anyway).
I'm currently writing:
Spectacles is one of those Voldemort-has-to-go-and-do-Muggle-things stories. A rather pointless fic about eyewear and the trials of new contact lenses.
The Chartreuse Sequence will be a series of drabbles, on various topics, of various genres, all titled with a color. So far: Orange (SS/OC), Black (SS/OC), Yellow (LM). In Progress: none at the moment. Potential future drabbles: Red (LV), Green(MMG), Pink (probably TS), Purple (AD), Gray(HP), Blue(EPS).
Possibly a few adaptions of classic novels. Don't get your hopes up, though, because I'm plagued with a plethora of sometimes sterile ideas, and I haven't worked out the casting at all.
A fic entitled "An Extraordinary Family", which, will hopefully be a nice change from the numerous Severus-mentors-Harry fics out there. The premise? Harry disappears from the wizarding world apparent that fateful Halloween, and everyone at Hogwarts, except Severus Snape, believes he's dead. No, he's not being raised by Severus. Features my version of Abraxus Malfoy, Voldemort's great aunt and great-grandmother (both OCs), and the Snape family. However, there are bits that I'm toying with rewriting (it's sort of AU to an AU...!), and scenes that I have to write out versus merely denoting their existence.
A story (And I'm really not quite sure what the point of it is yet) about Voldemort's great grandmother, Albus Dumbledore, her cousins, and a sometimes unintentionally infuriating Ravenclaw, and her experiences playing Quidditch in a multi-school match.
A songfic-ish Voldemort's daughter story. Don't think it will involve romance with any known characters, but!--as I am writing a bunch of backstory and a bunch of stuff about Professor McGonagall into the beginning, I haven't gotten around to the beginning of the school year yet. Or anyone going to get Harry, either. (The three songs, by the way, are "Hellfire"-Frollo, "O Valencia"-The Decembrists, and "Drops of Jupiter"-Train)
A silly final battle fic that probably will win the prize for "Most Unlikely Place to Defeat Voldemort". And where exactly will he be defeated? Hmm... I haven't yet decided. Maybe the produce department?
A story currently entitled "Surrogate Monarch" has taken over my brain, although I keep imagining potential scenarios and discarding them when they get too crazy... It's my offbeat version of a Snape-is-Harry's father story, and please note that a LM/LE ship features... my muse insisted I was going to get them together after I decided I would write Lucius on the side of the light. Also includes a meddling Dumbledore... I might write a few one shots based off this, although this is, obviously, an AU to my fandom-verse.
Some challenge responses--"Let Us Escape from the Laundromat!" is the first of quite a few I have received prompts for.
And quite a few other random fics!
Above information was current as of 9-22-2010.
I think I shall be writing crazy crossover fic. Some things that I think will occur (descriptive text will probably be phrased differently):
Dumbledore: "Well of course I obliviated him. It seemed like a good idea at the time"
Everyone else: *facepalm*
Snape: "You know what? Life is tremendously unfair, but sometimes it throws such ridiculous curves that I'm reduced to incoherence. Would you quit reminding me that she's a victim of a transporter error?"
Darth Vader: "Quiet. Yes, I'm trying to reprogram them, but they seem to be a bit...stubborn. Also, they want a doctor and the medical droids can't figure out what's wrong with them."
Qui-Gonn: If anyone could do it, I'm confident Anakin Skywalker could.
Voldemort: Vulcan mind-meld.
Qui-Gonn: Excuse me?
Voldemort: Oh. Sorry.
The Master: Hello. I'm the Master. (*iz mocking his enemy*)
R: Shut up! You're ruining Enjolras's musical interlude!
I also have a one-shot going that might contain hints of Lumione but is otherwise not likely to be very funny.
Qoheleth (I may have his name wrong) has sent me a prompt for the St. Malachy (? oh dear.) challenge, and if I can persuade the muse, I hope to have that up soon.
