"Why fit in when you were born to stand out?" -- Dr. Seuss
(to be perfectly honest, I am of the opinion that Dr. Seuss quotes have the power to change the world)
Update (29/10/16): I know I have basically been MIA for the last year, year and a half, and I apologise. There were a lot of things that happened that made me no longer want to write or even have time to. Mostly, 2016 for me has been about writing my thesis, which honestly has left little room for non-academic writing. I just literally have had no time, and sadly, as much as I would have liked to keep writing my stories on here, they just dropped off my radar.
But I wanted to let any of the readers still wanting to read my stories know that I am trying to get to it, and even though I've been basically non-existent, I have still appreciated all the favourites, follows, and reviews. They mean the world to me.
If you're taking the time to read my profile, then thank you! If you've reviewed, favourited or followed one of my stories, or me for that matter, thank you! It means so much to me, and it makes my day! You are amazing.

P l e a s e v o t e i n m y p o l l !
I randomly command, at odd intervals during the day, for people to one-v-one me IRL because I hear my brother (who is a gamer) say it far too often, and it gets stuck in my head. I'm a female university student who is definitely not studying creative writing (I took one course as an elective one semester -- that had been a mistake), but who is aspiring to maybe, someday, possibly, be considered an author. In the mean time, I'm a part-time waitress, part-time online marketing writer, and full-time psychology student.
Aero mint chocolate is my kryptonite. Humour is my Achilles heel (throw "tall, dark and handsome" out the proverbial window and open the door for "funny, intelligent and witty"). I have a surprisingly loving relationship with statistics, who, for the last half-decade of my life, had actually been the bane of my existence. I honestly didn't see it coming -- I was completely side-swiped.
My pointless hobbies include over-organising my life (because I never stick to my schedule), baking delicious goodies (because I never actually eat them, I just like cooking them. I bake when I'm nervous, or when I have no time to do anything, which of course, only makes it so I have even less time to do anything.) and sleeping all day (some would argue that this is not pointless, and I agree wholeheartedly. My best friend who is reading this over my shoulder made me put it in this category - shout out to Rits).
In a couple words though, I'm a reader, a writer, and a history lover.
About my writing?
I'm a firm, 100% believer that happy endings should be mandatory. I know it's not realistic, and I know it's not how the world works, and I know that some of the best stories ever imagined and written down were complete and utter tragedies. I know this. But just personally, I need to write happy endings, because I need to hope that it's possible. And it makes me unbelievably happy.
I love OC stories, and I only write OC stories. Why? Because I already know the canon character's stories - they were fantastic, and complex, and nothing I write could ever compare, nor would I want to. In their own right, those stories and those characters were perfect, and I only want to add to the story by throwing in my own characters. I love this site because it gives me free reign to do just that.
I promise to always try to write real characters (some of my old stories have such blatantly obvious Mary-Sue characters that it makes me cringe. But I keep those stories posted, as a reminder of how far my writing has come - or at least, how far I hope it's come).
I'm easily distracted and caught up by other fandoms, which means I'm near-constantly writing up new stories (most of them don't ever get past the first chapter). To be honest, I just have too many stories on the go, and too many sitting in my head or on my hard drive, than I have time for. I don't write a whole bucket load of chapters out first before updating a chapter or posting a story. I definitely don't plan my stories out. I write when I feel it, and what I feel, or when I can't stop thinking about it. Which means that when chapters come out mostly rests upon how popular or how many reviews a story has. I'm currently a fourth year university student who is undertaking a lot of extra-curricular activities whilst managing two jobs. My free time is severely limited, which accounts for my terrible updating history, so it takes a long time for me to update a story, I'm sorry.
Beta Profile: At the moment, I am not beta-ing any stories. Thank you for your interest, but I just don't have the time, and it's not fair if I can't dedicate enough time to helping you.
Fan Art: DancerOfDanger has created some really awesome cover images for my stories Evermore, Evermore, The Art of Pretending (Or Not), and Things With Teeth. I'm pretty sure she's doing a book cover service, so if you're interested, PM her and ask really nicely! I created the cover image for my story Forgive My Sins.

Where you can find it: My favourite stories list
(These are the stories that are stuck in my head that I haven't yet got down on paper. You can vote in my poll for your favourite!)
With the Tide
[Black Sails : VaneOC : Rated M; sex, violence, language : pre season 1]
OC: Mary-Jane Foster
Summary: "You think you're tough," he growled out, low and rough, his lips a half-smirk. The innocence on her face would not do her any favours in a place like this, walking around men like them - in fact, places like this and men like them slowly pulled girls like her apart, bit by bit, before tainting the bits that were left.
Additional Information: Eleanor Guthrie thought she made Charles Vane stronger by taking away his weaknesses. Mary-Jane is the opposite side to that coin - the girl who insisted that weakness was okay, human even.
[The Walking Dead : RickOC : Rated T; violence, language, sexual situations : slowburn : season 4 onwards]
OC: Delilah Jenkins
Summary: Delilah Jenkins found it odd that after everything Rick Grimes had been through, he had not - as might have been expected given the current state of the world - gone completely and utterly insane. It was just something she'd observed.
Additional Information: They never would have crossed paths before the Zombie Apocalypse. So it literally took the end of the world as they knew it, to bring them together.
Black and White
[Harry Potter : RegulusOC : Rated T; violence, language : Marauders Era]
OC: Poppy White
Summary: Poppy White couldn't help but watch him. Especially when he was enigmatically beautiful and walked like he carried the weight of the world on his shoulders. A world that was not a happy place. He looked like he needed saving. --between an empathic-to-a-fault, caring girl, and a darkly twisted guy--
Additional Information: A novella about Regulus Black in the months leading up to taking Voldemort's horcrux, and his fate.
[Harry Potter : Teddy LupinOC : Rated T; language, mischief, sexual situations]
OC: Charity "Rit" Weasley
Summary: We weren't fast enough. There was a loud, reverberating bang. Thick, sludge-like goop landed on my head, sliding down the sides of my face and into my eyes, slapping onto my back and sticking to my uniform. There was a moment of stunned silence. Then I grinned. "Told you we wouldn't blow up." --between the explosion-prone, lover of pranks, and her blue-haired, metamorphagus best friend--
Additional Information: Typical fall-in-love-with-your-best-mate story, minus the pathetic pining, add a lot of detentions.
[Outlander : JaimeOC : Rated T; sexual situations, violence, language : slowburn : AU]
OC: Abigail Marek
Summary: I'm an accidental time interloper. At least, that's what I call myself. It could've just as easily been inadvertent time meddler, but that's neither here nor there. You see, I go back and forth between my time, the year 2015, and the early-to-mid 1700s - I never know when, exactly, or where, only that he will be there.
Additional Information: Main character moves back and forth between the two times and makes a real mess of things.
Dead in the Water
[Vampire Diaries : StefanOC : Rated T; violence, language : season 3 onwards : AU]
OC: Gwen Gilbert
Summary: You know, I'm sure there's a logical, rational, perfectly sound explanation for all of this, I just haven't figured it out yet. There's probably a justified reason why I'm telling you this - all of this - as well, but hell if I know what it is. I'm just trying to figure out where to start. I'm dead. Yeah, that's a great beginning. I'm dead, but I'm, you know, still around.
Additional Information: Maybe Stefan chose the wrong sister to save that night on Wickery Bridge. Maybe if Elena didn't look so much like Katherine, he would've chosen her instead. Maybe.
[Robin Hood, TV series : GuyOC : Rated T; violence, language, sexual situations : AU]
OC: Beatrice of York
Summary: Bea would not be swayed by the paltry likes of logical reason and good sense. No. She was far too stubborn for any of that. Instead, she much preferred to barrel impulsively and recklessly headlong into situations which - in retrospect - were quite more than she could handle. But that was all just part of her method. The second part usually involved teasings and insults and would only serve to get her into even more trouble, especially where Gisborne was concerned.
Additional Information: Typical love story where the lovers in question are on opposing sides, working towards different ends, and if any kind of sense pervaded their minds, they'd surely hate each other.
