Ninja Mage World challenge
Update: I plan to write this challenge myself in the future, however any are free to try.
Basically in canon Fairy Tail when Lyon went to use Iced Shell before Ur had a chance to during the flashback of Gray's past, Lyon was saying that Ur was the best mage ever and Ur replied by saying that the mages from the Western nations were much stronger then she could ever hope to be. Now it isn't to hard to believe that 2 different cultures such as one revolving around shinobi and another revolving around mages would be mostly shut off from one another, as something like this could have happened given the nature of how American Indian and European cultures came to meet.
Anyway given the nature of magic power and chakra being somewhat similar(magic almost seems like the spiritual side of chakra, right?), this could stand for a reason to state that Fiore and the Elemental Nations could coexist on the same planet thereby allowing you the author to skip the standard Kamui or Anima that are used in many of the Naruto/Fairy Tail crossovers. It also helps given how Fiore had things like Deliora and other magical demon-like beings running around while the Elemental Nations have the Bijuu that cause havoc.
This also opens up new ideas on plot given that you can run the two stories concurrently in a sense since Naruto would still be able to use his Summoning jutsu to keep in contact with Jiraiya. The point in time where I'd like to see this idea started is during the Land of Sea filler arc so that Naruto has the Rasengan and he is out on the open ocean however it can be done at any point where Naruto could fall into open water of some kind, where his dumb luck can lead him to the other side of the world. My one true requirement is that Naruto has the Rasengan and frankly I could care less if it is done before Sasuke leaves the village or not so long as it begins at any point after Tsunade becomes Hokage but before Shippuden begins.
As for how Fairy Tail canon plays into this, you can pick whatever point in time you wish before the Tenrou Island events happen as I'd prefer that Naruto be on Tenrou Island to stall events pertaining to Akatsuki. Frankly the idea of Naruto arriving in Fiore right as Lucy is being rescued by Natsu before she joins Fairy Tail is the most pleasing idea, but I wouldn't mind if something like the Galuna Island arc or Tower of Heaven arc is used instead. If possible, I'd love to see Tenrou Island under Fairy Sphere be used much like a reverse Hyperbolic Time Chamber, eg during the seven years that happen in the real world, the Tenrou Fairy's get something like 3 and a half years to train themselves. This would be better then the 7 years of nothing Fairy Tail canon brings.
Naruto is still at a young enough age that he can be molded into using both magic along with jutsu and not be too overpowering to the rest of the characters in the plotline of either Naruto or Fairy Tail that you choose to work with as well. From there you can do with what you will, but keep in mind people like Makarov, people his age, or the Magic Council themselves might know the true nature of Naruto's abilities since they are the most likely to have had any kind of dealings with people from the Western Nations(as the Elemental Nations would be known by the masses) or at least have records of said dealings.
Anyway as to a possible pairing, I leave this choice up to the author. I have no real preference on whether it becomes a harem or a single pairing as I would be happy either way. If possible I'd like to avoid ideas that bring crossover elements from other shows since the idea in mind is to present the Fairy Tail and Naruto worlds as one and the same with differences in customs and use of magic/chakra provided from being on 2 separate continents. How the Sage of Six Paths might play into this is again up to the author, because he may have passed down the idea of Chakra the same way in Fiore as he did the Elemental Nations, but as time passed Fiore changed their ways. Using Zeref might be a good idea in this regard, but it shall be up to you.
Please let me know by PM if you wish to take this challenge.
My thoughts on an Uzumaki bloodline
We have seen many fics out on this site where Naruto gains or was born with a bloodline of sorts, especially in fics regarding the rebuilding of the Uzumaki clan. I will now provide canonical evidence as to my beliefs on a potential Uzumaki clan bloodline. I won't try to change your opinions on the matter either way, but am merely trying to put forth evidence that it is possible that Naruto's healing could in fact be a bloodline despite each individuals thoughts on the matter. As Kishi has neither confirmed nor denied this in one way or the other but has put forth other instances that can imply the case in either way, it is up to the fans to determine one way or another. My listing this is merely a basis one can look at that is non-bias using mainly canon evidence regarding Uzumaki clan abilities for potential stories.
Now I would like to start off with expressing my belief that Naruto's healing is in fact a bloodline ability rather then something brought as a result of Kurama being sealed inside of him, however in canon this is not a bloodline due to the simple fact that the Uzumaki clan has so many varied abilities associated with the 5 known named clan members. I will of course start at the beginning of canon events, as this places the most important reason why Naruto's healing is most often associated with the Kyuubi. By this I mean events during the Wave mission after Naruto's hand healed from his confrontation with the Demon Brothers. Kakashi believed this was due in part to the Kyuubi and as the series had just started, there was no setup that stated Naruto had come from a clan. Completely believable and understandable.
We then move on to the Chunin Exams, after Naruto has already had the Kyuubi sealed away by Orochimaru. The event in particular that I bring to light is when Hinata offered her medicinal cream up to Naruto after his win over Kiba. The cream healed Naruto's wounds almost immediately and Naruto offered Hinata praise. This is not the end, as Kurenai thought on how Hinata's cream does not usually work that fast. Due keep in mind this was after the Kyuubi was sealed and Naruto had no access to his chakra. I imagine one might argue that this is a passive ability as a result of having Kurama sealed away inside of Naruto, however please wait before making this decision as I have more to say.
I will now move on to the battle at the Valley of the End with Sasuke, as this is the next major junction and the first true point at seeing Naruto's healing factor working on a major scale. Naruto was using the Kyuubi's chakra during this battle and at one point he had a Chidori shoved through him. He continued the battle as a result of Kyuubi's chakra healing him on a massive scale. Again this may seem like another point in against my thoughts and considering canon still does not have a reference to an Uzumaki clan at this point, it could be argued as such.
I will now move on to Shippuden, bringing our first Uzumaki clan member outside of Naruto into the stage. Due bear in mind that Kishi is working retroactively to tie up loose ends to fill his plot and thus could be construed as means to an end after playing up certain factors. I will explain as I go on. My subject here is Karin Uzumaki, confirmed member of the Uzumaki clan by Kabuto during the war arc, but first appeared during the Searching for Itachi arc which is where I want to start. Karin herself has shown no real signs of a healing factor in the same sense as Naruto mind you, but all the same does have healing abilities based in her chakra. This is deduced in part by all the bite marks on her body that never heal, but can in fact be explained away due to not having the Kyuubi enhancing her already present healing ability. That said, the idea that she can heal others based on certain usage of her chakra when one bites her implies that she could technically heal herself in a similar way to Naruto, however on a much smaller scale.
My next piece of evidence comes from Kushina Uzumaki, in two distinct forms. One as an actual piece of healing in work or rather outside of it working during the Kyuubi attack and the other is the nickname of Uzushio being the Village of Vitality. When she had the Kyuubi stolen from her body, it was mentioned by Tobi that it was her Uzumaki Vitality that kept her alive. This can be construed in many ways, but here is my take on it. Vitality in essence is life, and one needs to stay healthy to live, yes? So a backwards way at looking at this might be that the Healing factor displayed in Naruto and also in Karin might in fact be the true reason for the Uzumaki clan's vitality.
Farfetched I understand, but there is not much else to consider as a reason. I do however feel the need to mention another fact on this topic though and that is the distant relation of the Senju and Uzumaki clans, as well as the Senju ancestors' gift received from the Sage of Six Paths. This gift was in fact the Gift of the Body and to date in canon, there is no real psychical nor named equivalent to what this truly is outside of some mention on Willpower which really explains little. It should be noted though that Hashirama Senju was able to heal himself without the need of Handseals, much like any Uzumaki I have mentioned should be able to do.
Now my last piece of evidence regarding the Healing factor and probably the most farfetched of them all is in regards to Nagato Uzumaki. Nagato as everyone no doubt knows was confirmed as a member of the clan by Tobi as he came to steal the Rinnegan eyes. Where my evidence in regards to him comes from though is much later in the story though, as it happens during the time when he was revived via Edo Tensei. I will explain myself in this though. As you are all well aware, Nagato was revived without the use of his legs and still had his gray hair much like he did at his death. A point that should be noted though is how nearly every zombie outside of Madara has been revived to look and act much they did at their time of death. I mention this because it is key in my argument. Nagato when fighting Naruto and Bee was able to use his Preta Path ability to suck massive amounts of chakra from Naruto Kyuubi Chakra Mode cloak and then as a result of this regain not only the full use of his legs, but also his physical appearance to that of when he was in his prime. This is something not done by anyone else as a zombie, as even Madara was shown to already look at his prime when he was shown in the war for the first time. I know one could argue that the Lifegiving Chakra provided by the Kyuubi Chakra Mode can be the reason for such a drastic change, but in regards to this it has not been shown to work in such a manner. My reason for stating this is because it primarily has been shown to work on the Mokuton cells that the White Zetsu are made with and they tend to grow into fully grown trees, not revert in age to a younger state as shown by Nagato.
Now I do understand why many others may believe that Naruto's healing is not a bloodline, as there has never been an outright statement that the Uzumaki clan had a bloodline to begin with. However important points such as only an Uzumaki can handle the Kyuubi's chakra in its' natural state are difficult to ignore, but I do concede how Bee in his Jinchuuriki forms outside of Full Hachibi look the same as Naruto and other jinchuuriki aside from Gaara. I must also point another key factor in regards to this however and that is the Empathic abilities that 3 Uzumaki have shown to some degree, those being Naruto, Mito, and Karin. Naruto and Mito have flat out been stated to have Negative Emotion Sensing provided by the Kyuubi. I do need to point out though that Mito Uzumaki was never a jinchuuriki with full control over the Kyuubi, otherwise this would have been mentioned during the Kage Summit arc when it was stated about Madara, Hashirama, Bee, and Yagura. Karin on the other hand has shown slight Empathic ability during the Kage Summit as well. This is in regards to Karin sensing how Sasuke chakra has become cold and dark. Granted this doesn't prove much, but it does border on the idea that the Uzumaki clan are sensitive to emotions.
This does drag away from my focus on the healing factor, but I bring this up with good reason. I personally believe that any potential Uzumaki bloodline is not in fact just limited to healing, but a wide assortment of Body related abilities related to the Chakra of the clan rather then a single specific ability whether passive or active expect there is no defining show of this potential bloodline like the Sharingan eyes. By this we can define Kushina's Chakra Chains as an active portion and Healing or Empathic abilities as a passive portion. Given that Kushina's Chakra Chains are unique even among the Uzumaki, it can be thought that such abilities don't show often. I understand that Tobi has shown the ability to use Chakra Chains, however there is a distinct difference in his use and Kushina's, namely Tobi requires the Rinnegan to use these Chakra Chains where as Kushina does not.
Another thing I feel worth mentioning is Karin's chakra control and chakra sensing. Karin has shown exceptional chakra control during the Kage summit in her ability to completely hide her from C while he was trying to sense her location. I bring this up because it relates more to the Senju side of things. Tsunade herself has perfect chakra control and also Tobirama has shown rather interesting use of chakra in how he is able to sense people during Danzou's flashback. I must mention however that Minato showed the very same chakra sensing ability during the Kakashi Gaiden and Sakura is flat out stated as equal to Tsunade in chakra control, but I will leave that for now due to canon inconsistencies. Anyway, given my prior mention of the Sage of Six Path's gift, the Gift of the Body, Chakra related abilities such as highly tuned chakra sensing along the lines of Karin or impressive use of jutsu as shown by Tobirama using Water style could in fact be more examples of this potential unnamed bloodline in action. Another potential thought is Hashirama being the only true wielder of Mokuton ninjutsu despite Yamato having Hashirama's cells implanted in him, Tobi with his half Zetsu body, and the many Zetsu made straight from Hashirama's cells. All these latter people and clones are making use of the original's cells and Mokuton can be considered instinctual/Active because of this, but then why would only one man in hundreds of years of stated warring between 2 clans have this ability? Such a thing makes little sense and frankly should be deemed a plothole in essence, but is not due to reasons like Mutation. Wouldn't a bloodline in general be deemed a mutation? Kushina's Chakra Chains are one of a kind as far as we know from canon(though filler has shown us otherwise), so couldn't they be deemed a mutation of the potential basic Uzumaki/Senju bloodline provided from the Sage of Six Paths?
The Sharingan shall be my next piece of my argument. As you all know, the Sharingan evoles into the Mangekyou and then somehow with the fusion of Senju DNA evoles into the Rinnegan. Canon fact. This is not where I want to go, but it does have a small bearing on my argument due to the fact that a bloodline can have multiple forms. What I want to touch on is how the Sharingan evolved form(the Mangekyou in particular) seems to have personalized abilities that relate depending on the user. This does not mean Amaterasu as has been shown to be used by every Mangekyou holder outside of Obito and Shisui Uchiha's Mangekyou Sharingans though. I am referring to how Sasuke has Blaze Release(the manipulation of Amaterasu flames), Itachi had Tsukiyomi, Shisui had Koto Amatsukami, and Obito has Kamui. Madara is an unknown in this respect, but given how he had the Rinnegan that Nagato bore, and has relied mainly on Rinnegan jutsu and Susanoo in addition to Mokuton that was gained after his revival, it is hard to tell when one has so many different varieties with which to attack. This however brings me to my point, which is as the other clan that received a gift from the Sage of Six Paths having so many widely different uses out of their gift, does this imply that the Senju clans' gift is also as versatile in its use?
The main label of the Senju's gift was 'Body' when compared to the Uchiha clan receiving the 'Eyes' and body can be much more versatile in definition then eyes can be, as there is more room for growth or change/mutation. Given this, it is hard to deny that something such as Naruto's healing can be solely attributed to the Kyuubi, but rather enhanced by the Kyuubi due to the sheer amount of chakra Naruto has in his system. Yes I will agree that the majority of Naruto healing does take place due to Kurama's presence in his body as well as when he is actively calling upon it and with the Uzumaki clan being so late in appearance in canon as well as the wide amount of differences in the 5 known canon Uzumaki clan members(not counting the filler character Honoka Uzumaki who has shown Chakra Chains that are exactly like what Kushina had), there is room to argue that Naruto's healing is a result of Kurama. However as I put forth my argument, it is also possibly believable that canon can be retroactively giving Naruto a bloodline due to the direction the plot is taking the story and as such the name of this potential bloodline has been lost to time.
