Author has written 6 stories for Legend of Zelda, and Naruto.
I'm a student hoping to get better writing skills by writing fanfiction. I don't think I'm a particularly strong writer, which is why I joined this site.
If you're going to flame, do it with an account so I can actually discuss criticism. Otherwise all you come off as is a lame troll, and that's boring and nonconstructive.

So, Naruto finished. I gotta say, it's been a wild ride. It's not exactly a satisfactory ending for me, but I guess it works. In the end though, I've got to say that part two ended up becoming horribly mediocre with values that clash against what part one pushed. It's a neat divergence from ordinary shounen manga, but the inconsistency is annoying and jarring at the same time.
At the same time, I'm disappointed in how many plot holes ended up occurring in the last 100-150 chapters (Kaguya? Black Zetsu magic? Transmigration? Madara being able to take Kurama away in a second for no discernible reason?). Madara was way, waaaaay too powerful and had plenty of ridiculous power-ups that were entirely unnecessary. Yeah, the younger generation surpass the older generation unless you have Ninja Jesus blood. Why even say that bit of pointless information if it only applies to Naruto and Sasuke? Madara should've had his ass sealed by the Gokage and Obito should've been defeated by the allied forces without being redeemed. He certainly didn't deserve it.
The amount of time it took to end those two, I felt, detracted from Naruto and Sasuke's final fight. Their fight was not flashy to me and it wasn't even that interesting. Kishimoto's fetish for parallelism and brotherhood is very stifling and stomps on what could've been a satisfying descent into darkness for Sasuke. Yes, we get it Kishimoto, you like that kind of stuff. It got old after the twenty-seventh time we saw it.
And then we see Sasuke retaining the Rinnegan. I, uh, what? Why does he get to keep it while Naruto can't keep his own flashy Six Path Sage power? How does this make any sense? An explanation would've been nice - but I guess the Sharingan really is all-powerful. He could've at least shown Sasuke being soundly defeated as a decent mirror to the end of part one instead of both Naruto and Sasuke bleeding out on the ground. That's not a victory - that's a draw.
I actually didn't mind chapter 700, though I wish Sakura had become less shallow in the end. Really, all it did besides validating shipping wars is justify Sakura's bashing. Years and years pass by and for some reason she can't dump her attraction to Sasuke? I don't even remember why she liked Sasuke at this point. Oh well, cheers to everyone who went through Naruto, and I hope part three (if it is indeed coming) won't be as scattered as part two was.
I will generally read any story that has decent grammar and paragraph spacing, but excessive bashing, self-inserts, and poorly created OCs will turn me off immediately. I don't really mind most pairings provided any of the characters don't have their canon sexualities violated (like Naruto and Sasuke being gay - that's a big no-no for me), but I will avoid Naruto/Hinata and Naruto/Sakura simply because they're utterly boring. Naruto/Hinata has been done so much and so often that there isn't any story of that pairing that offers something new. It's all been done before, so if you really want to write a story about it, I suggest doing something else.
Sakura is just boring in general, though I've read stories which redeem her as a character.
I will also avoid abandonment stories, where Naruto is ignored or neglected by his parents for a sibling or something. Honestly, that's ridiculous. Kushina didn't even want her child to become a jinchuriki in the first place - why would she begrudge him for not being one? In addition, both of Naruto's parents were seen as super-excited when he was conceived, they were just happy to be parents. Neglect stories make no sense unless Minato and Kushina are bashed or something.
I do have a love for gen fics and fics that have the Kyuubi and Naruto become buddies (not ones in which the Kyuubi gives him everything he could ever need). I also love stories where Naruto and Kurama explore a deeper relationship and have Kurama develop more humanely. Experiments in Empathy by Paradox Jast comes to mind.
EDIT 4/12/15: Yeah, I'm abandoning some of my stories. I simply do not have the time at the moment to write for them and, I feel as if some of them are just poorly written. Rewriting everything from the start is a daunting task and I'd rather not put readers through that. I apologize for this, and I especially apologize for becoming a hypocrite (I'm totally going to finish this story guys!).
A Different Result - The Yondaime and his wife stopped the Kyuubi attack and the orchestrator behind it. With Tobi absent in the affairs of the ninja world, how will Naruto's future turn out? Pairings are roughly decided, but since they're not the main point of the story I doubt anything too romantic will come out of them. First serious story written! ABANDONED
The Peeping Fox - Naruto meets Jiraiya early on in his childhood, resulting in the revelation of several things and the removal of Naruto from Konoha. Jiraiya takes on his role as a godfather and corrupts Naruto in the process! Perverted!Naruto. ABANDONED
Sanguine - How sure can you be that an abused child holding an ancient power is mentally stable? Maybe they should've checked before releasing him upon the world... No pairings.
Alternate Timeline - A Naruto and Kurama from some other timeline are plopped into the canon timeline. Shenanigans occur and the plot somewhat diverges. Definite harem, not a serious story at all, nor a well-written one. Complete, with copious amounts of swearing!
Devour - An ever-hungry orphan and his inner demon figure out a way to satiate themselves, with grisly and horrific results. One-shot, complete!
Curse of the Chosen Hero - Post Twilight Princess. Link laments on how being a hero destined to save Hero has robbed him of his life and innocence. One-shot, complete.
So I decided to put up a challenge since I haven't seen this idea done before. Please let me know if you decide to take it up!
Challenge: Destroyer from the Future
We've all seen stories in which the hero gets sent back in time to fix what went wrong. What if instead of a hero, the villain was unintentionally sent back in time by that villain's enemies? The only catch is, in this challenge, Naruto is the villain! Future!Naruto, once the jinchuriki of the Juubi, is sent back in time in the hopes of being removed from the nearly-destroyed future. Once in the past, Future!Naruto will attempt to once again reconstruct the Juubi in order to fulfill the prophecy - mainly, by destroying every single ninja village ever.
In this story, Present!Naruto must be good. I don't care who he's paired with, as long as it's sensible and not with a male. Bashing must not happen, but Future!Naruto must (I repeat, MUST) kill Sasuke, Itachi, Tobi, and Pain in order to ensure the smooth transition of the Juubi's reconstruction. He does not work with Akatsuki, merely takes advantage of it. In addition, due to once being the Juubi's jinchuriki, he is able to use the abilities of all of the Tailed Beast, and his chakra capacity is unbelievably high.
Future!Naruto cannot be paired with anyone. Future!Naruto does not have the Sharingan or any Doujutsu, either. He should have a Space/Time Jutsu (not the Hiraishin) and his abilities should be related to the special techniques each Tailed Beast can use (such as Shukaku's sand).
Finally, good grammar and spelling is a must.
Challenge: Uzumaki Twins
Yeah, there's been quite a few stories in which Naruto has a twin, and then they both become godlike while damning the world around them. However, my challenge is to create an Uzumaki Twins story with no bashing, no god!Twins, and one created with a believable relationship.
Naruto must have a fraternal twin - female, because Naruto has a lack of strong females that are his age. This twin must not have red hair, some random Uzumaki bloodline, or anything like that. She must look like the Sexy no Jutsu version of Naruto, minus the large breasts and attempts to incite perversion. In addition, her personality must be similar to Naruto's - they grew up together with only themselves against the world and as such, have a close relationship. Each sibling is extremely protective of the other and will perform pranks to get revenge on whoever bothers the other one.
However, they still crave attention - yes, they both share a fondness for orange - and both want to become great, respected ninjas; not necessarily Hokage, but great nonetheless. They're both goofy, but can become serious when necessary.
Each half of the Kyuubi is sealed into a twin. Naruto gets the Yang half and his twin gets the Yin half. This is based upon canon, so both will have large amounts of chakra and be complete crap at genjutsu. In addition, Naruto must still have a wind-aligned chakra type, but his sister must have a fire-aligned chakra type, if only so that the two work together better. The rest of their powers I leave to the author willing to take this challenge.
1. No grim, dark starts to the story. No beatings, rapes, or anything close to that. The villagers distrust and sneer upon Naruto and his sister, actively ignoring them when possible. They do not poison or cheat them, nor do they sell rusted equipment to them.
2. No bashing. I absolutely detest bashing when it's unwarranted and used in a serious story. Because of how common it's become, I will be imposing another rule: if you want to drop someone from the Konoha 9 in order to keep the three three-man teams, you cannot drop Ino or Sakura from a team. You may, however, not drop anyone and instead create an OC - or use Sai.
3. No god!characters. The growth of power must be believable. No learning the Flying Thunder God in under a month, or becoming a sealing master overnight.
4. You cannot pair Sasuke up with either of the twins. Naruto does not bat for the same team, and neither does Sasuke. Furthermore, Sasuke belittles and looks down upon Naruto often enough for a sister to immediately dismiss him. In fact, Naruto's twin should dislike Sasuke as much as Naruto does - at least in the beginning.
5. Both twins must stay relatively close in power to each other. No point in a sibling story if they drift apart due to a strength discrepancy.
These are all the restrictions I have. Their power-ups, conversations, and relationships are up to the author. The main theme of this story is to create a strong relationship between twins who are up against a world.
Now, I'm sure some people will notice I have not restricted incest. This is because I think there's a lot of potential in terms of angst and drama for that kind of relationship. A lot of sibling stories have twins getting together with little to no fanfare. If you want the twins to have an incestuous relationship, then you better not glorify it.
I will only allow authors to do this route if, and only if, they have written a decent story beforehand. Otherwise, stick to having no pairings.
Challenge: Familiar Hard Work
This is a crossover challenge between Naruto and The Familiar of Zero. One thing I noticed when scouring this site was that there are like... no stories of Naruto going over to the Familiar of Zero universe. Pretty much none of him, which is strange because usually writers walk all over themselves giving him a harem of the bustiest women around.
But, naturally, I would find this boring. Instead, let's make it interesting: during the summoning ritual, Louise manages to summon an older Naruto who is tinkering around with his father's technique. Naruto, seeing Louise being bullied and put down, can't help but feel a sort of kinship towards her. In fact, despite him being away from his world, he decides to take her under his wing and teach her the meaning of true, hard work, helping her blossom into a force all unto her own.
Now, when I say "older Naruto", I mean the Naruto from the end of the series. Yes, Hinata is his wife and he has his two children, but this is only meant to help Naruto be more of a father figure to Louise. He's her teacher and should, at this point, be much more mature than he was when he was younger. In addition, he should have wisdom that belies his years due to being Hokage - or something like that, anyway.
Now, because I'm pretty sure since this Naruto could utterly destroy everyone in Louise's world, Naruto will not take too much of a part in the story - instead, he should be used as a tool to flesh out Louise's character and explore her relationships with the other characters. He cannot all of a sudden take a new wife or anything and there isn't any bashing allowed - just good ol' Naruto turning Louise into a badass.
