Author has written 7 stories for Power Rangers, Phantasy Star, and Touhou Project.
Profile go BOOM! I figured I'd just annihilate most of what I had here in favor of something more concise.
Hi, I'm MaxKnight; Let's Player, Fan Fiction Writer, Systems Administrator. I can't stand the beach, nor can I swim. I enjoy mostly older video games and PC games, am a Touhou obsessor (not quite fanatical, despite my YouTube favorites list), and quite enjoy Taco Bell and Cheesecake. I revel in the random and often can be depicted as slightly crazy. I like the well written and the poorly translated.
My interest in Power Rangers started in my youth and waned a little in the middle years, surging back for a single season and then falling again. This should make sense to people who already read my stuff, though. I have ideas here and there and may end up with some collaborative works sometime in the corner future, but for now what you see is what there is (and possibly, if you will, then some).
I have another Phantasy Star fic in mind, again focusing on the 3rd game in the series. I'll write it soon, I'm thinking. It will be independent of the one that already exists, though. Or not, as I said that about writing it soon months ago, and only just remembered that I was going to write it...
So I've obviously thrown in fully as far as the Touhou fan fiction is concerned... I've started rewriting Adaptation after getting some advice from the New Writers' Contest over at shrinemaiden, and will rework The Other Side to fit with the new work. I'm going to attempt to not be afraid of how much detail I want/need to put into the story... It's what made Adaptation not be everything that it could be... There's a lot that I could have elaborated on that was just left alone...
I shall admit that I enjoy the idea of 'shipping. Readers of my twin PR stories will know that as far as those characters are concerned I am a full supporter of Conner/Kira and can't really stand Kira/Trent unless it's really well written (on par with Of Love and Bunnies well written). In addition to them, I'm indifferent in most other pairings out there (equal between Tommy/Kim and Tommy/Kat, Jason/Trini and Jason/Kat, Billy/Trini, Billy/Kat, and Billy/Hayley... the list can go on). I won't comment on seasons between In Space and Dino Thunder, nor anything past Dino Thunder, as I don't know them as well. I'll simply say that I have nothing personal against slash, but the chances of seeing something like it in any of my PR works is very low.
Now Touhou on the other hand... By now you've seen that I quite enjoy MariAli as a pairing, and have no qualms with pairing up others... The Valentine's story was spur of the moment, as were most of the pairings implied... The thing is, I can't stand -dere Alice for the most part. I'm tired of seeing a strong character have to beat herself up over her own feelings and being indecisive about things... So I refuse to write it. This is why I had her be the one to set everything up, while the usually more forceful personality went on a wild goose chase (where she invariably found the goose). It should probably be expected that my other two stories are likely headed in one direction or another... But it's the execution that one must anticipate!
I have revived my old LiveJournal and have subsequently annihilated all my old entries from 2004-2006 so I can use it as a kind of a whiteboard for story ideas, among other things (I may drop a post on a game I may be playing or my LP's from time to time). Anything that I am currently working on that I want to flesh out the idea by writing it down in one way or another will go there so that I don't actually forget it completely. You can find it.
Well, that should be enough. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. Oh, and review my stuff after reading it! I'm not so callous as to require reviews before releasing new chapters (the joy of writing the story slightly outweighs the confirmation that it's getting read), but it still feels good to read what people think about what I'm writing. Oh, and please be brutal; constructive criticism is the most important thing you can do for a writer of any kind.
I still can't stand the beach.
