"Not all those who wander are lost." (J.R.R. Tolkien)
Hey there - I know I haven't been very active on here and I'm beginning to realise that it's been nearly two years since I've updated my story which is primarily because I've been more active in other fandoms. A lot has happened in these two years. I graduated high school, got a job, went abroad au pairing and now I'm in the UK for my studies which are immensely time consuming during term time. I guess I got only myself to blame for studying three subjects and learning three foreign languages along the way but choosing just one thing I'm interested in is just too damn hard.
That little flag on my profile tends to change a lot since I love to travel whenever I can (from the little money I can scrap together while living in the most ridiculously expensive city in Europe) and I live abroad but I grew up in a little hamlet in the German countryside. Other than German and English, I also speak French and Japanese and I've started learning Italian and Swedish when I started uni. I have absolutely no idea what I want to do with my life (considering my subjects it'll be probably something in business or finance) but I can picture myself doing lots of different things. Growing up and taking on responsibilities still scare me, even though I've been living abroad and been pretty independent for the past 15 months already. But idk, as long as my mom still sends me an advent calendar in late November I'm not -that- grown up yet, I guess.
Besides travelling and languages, I love art and design. I enjoy everything from painting, photography and writing to fashion, cosplay and architecture. I'm also excited by new challenges. When making a new cosplay, for instance, I'm always going for something I haven't tried before - a new sewing technique or working with new materials. I'm also trying to visit a country I haven't travelled to before every year. I got a long bucket list, including skydiving (even though I'm a little freaked by heights), kitesurfing, hiking the Inka trail, and climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.
I'm obsessed with Game of Thrones, but there are many other fandoms I love (or used to love anyway) such as Supernatural (esp. seasons 1-5), SUPERGIRL, True Blood, Sherlock, Doctor Who, the Marvel CU, Harry Potter, Tolkien's works, Star Wars, and plenty of anime. It's been a while since I've been genuinely interested in one. I'm not the kind of person who rants about how things used to be better but I have a feeling that half of the anime made nowadays are about a group of one dimensional characters practising some kind of sport. Where are the well thought out stories nowadays - remember Death Note, Trinity Blood, or Neon Genesis Evangelion? Oh, and I FINALLY managed to binge Lucifer after the end of term 2 (never been so thankful about a term being over) and I'M IN LOVE. How good is that show?
If I get back to my Hetalia story I mentioned earlier, I know it seems like I abandoned it but it's been creeping up in my mind every now and then and quite frankly, I'm a bit unhappy about the start but I have been digging for my notes on the future plot. All I need now is something to revive my love for the fandom, a muse. I don't know how many people still care for or even remember the story (I never expected it to get so much attention in the first place and was thoroughly surprised when I received pms quite recently asking about the story) but fact is that I hate leaving things unfinished so there's definitely hope for it.
