Author has written 9 stories for Legend of Zelda, and Wizard101.
Interests: Writing fiction; playing video games; playing harp and piano; editing wikis
Current Obsession(s): Shadow of War. Easily one of my favorite games of all time. It's such a shame it doesn't have much of a fanfiction following. I highly recommend it and the previous game, Shadow of Mordor. They're incredible.
Other Fandoms: Legend of Zelda, Danny Phantom, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, Rhythm Thief, Rise of the Guardians, Magic Kaito, Elder Scrolls, SMITE
Hi there. I'm TwilightWakerofTime, but I'm more commonly known as Heroine these days. I'm a grad student who loves to write and read fanfiction. I'm also a musician and avid gamer.
I discovered fanfiction after writing a Wizard101 story, The Tale of Sierra WinterBreeze, back in 2009. However, when I joined ff.net, my fandom for the first four years was pretty much exclusively The Legend of Zelda. Now my favorite fandom can change whenever my interests do. I tend to go through phases where I become abnormally obsessed with one series and learn everything I possibly can about it. I don't know how I choose which fandom I become obsessed with, since all of my fandoms since Zelda have been completely different. (A cartoon, a rhythm game, a short musical, a movie, an anime series... Not exactly consistent.)
I'm still writing... I just never finish anything, and when I do, I'm too much of a perfectionist to actually publish it. In general, I like to write for all types of genres, except for romance. After several horrifically terrible attempts, I decided I would never, ever write romance again if I could help it.
As a reader, I love stories that play around with themes of morality, tragedy, and/or power, but I'm definitely not restricted to them. I'm not terribly fond of fluff, but some people can make it work. I'm pretty open to anything within my beloved fandoms.
I apologize if I don't review your story, by the way. I've gotten better at it recently, but I still do it rarely. Just note that if I followed your story, I'm definitely looking forward to reading more. And if I favorited it... that probably means I've reread your story multiple times and I really, really appreciate it. I only favorite about one story per year, because I only add the truly special ones that bring me back to read them again.
STORIES (For The Legend of Zelda unless marked otherwise):
Awakening (IN PROGRESS)
Next Chapter Progress: 10% (8/3/15: Sorry this is so slow-going. It's really hard to write a Zelda fic when you've barely played Zelda for the past several months. All my time is taken up by other fandoms lately.)
This is essentially Skyward Sword from Zelda's perspective. I really enjoy this project, so it's my primary focus at the moment. It's just fairly slow-going, and I've experienced numerous issues with plot holes in the actual game, many of which I explain in a post on my blog. Also, forgive the romance in this. I know it's dreadful. I'm terrible at writing that kind of thing...
Next Chapter Progress: 0% (12/30/14: Nope, we haven't even started yet.)
This is posted on the profile of my good friend CharizardGirl. We have been planning this story for over a year, but only now have we finally worked up the determination to actually finish the chapter and post it. I'm super excited for it; we've got lots of cool stuff planned that let me explore the Zelda universe in a way that I can't with my other two Zelda stories. We both would greatly appreciate if you check it out and leave a review.
The Tale of Sierra WinterBreeze (Wizard101; IN PROGRESS)
Next Chapter Progress: 0% (11/22/15: Almost a year after I claimed that I was rewriting this... I finished rewriting Part 1. Yeah, just Part 1. It's also over 8,000 words now. I'm not sure if it's really worth posting... Would anyone read this story if it is now so much longer? Like, that's 8,000 words, and I haven't even gotten to the Seekers yet!)
This was my first fanfiction I ever wrote. I was just a silly little girl, so... it's very fanfictiony, haha! I'm working on a rewrite at the moment, but it's going very slowly...
Shards of Time (ON HIATUS)
Next Chapter Progress: 20% (12/30/14: I'll be honest: I don't know if I'm even writing this anymore. I've always told myself I'd never give up on a story if others love it, but this is such a chore to write. I just look at previous chapters and cringe. Perhaps I'll come back to this some day. But right now, I suppose you can call this a hiatus.)
This is my first attempt at romance and humor. Unfortunately, this showed me that I'm not very good at writing either of those genres, so I'm not currently working on this. I think I tried to add in more genres to accomodate my style of writing more, but it just ended up being awkward and confusing for both myself and readers.
An Ocarina of Time oneshot with mild ZeLink. Just something I wrote in my spare time at school a few years ago. It's nothing special, really, but I suppose it's not awful.
A Medli x Link oneshot written for the Across the Fandom project. I'm still not too confident in my ability to write romance, but I suppose this turned out alright.
A Link's Awakening oneshot based on stealing in the game. Honestly, I think I ended up rushing at the end and ruined what could have been an excellent fic. And if there is one thing I completely and utterly regret it is changing how the Shopkeeper is distracted. I don't even know why I did that. There was absolutely no reason to, but I did. I kind of want to edit it back to reflect the game a bit more, but so many people have read this version that I'm not sure I should...
Live with it, Wolf-Boy (ONESHOT)
A Twilight Princess oneshot written around the same time as THIEF, back in September 2011. I wrote it to practice my action scenes and first person perspective.
By the way... this story has a TON of favorites, but only a handful of reviews. I wonder why no one wants to review this story? XD
Final Toll (ONESHOT)
This was initially written for Zelda Dungeon's seventh Writing Competition, my third time entering. The theme was Farewell, and I ended up winning. However, we were limited to 500 words, so I was forced to cut out a LOT from the original, and the ending felt rather rushed to me. I really wanted to expand on this because I love the tale of Cremia and Romani so much, so I did. And here's the final result!
A random AU story I found in a notebook from 2013. It was intended to be longer than it is now, but because what you see here got so long, I decided to end it early. The second part is already partially written and may be uploaded as a second chapter if people are interested.
I guess I should have a disclaimer, right? Well... I'd completely forgotten about that in all my stories... so I'll just put it here. I mean... I hardly see it necessary, considering this is FAN fiction.net, but whatever. Since I am a FAN of The Legend of Zelda, Wizard101, and whatever else I might write for, I do not own them.
