Author has written 32 stories for Avatar: Last Airbender, and Misc. Books.
I'm a 30-something-year-old woman who still enjoys playing dress-up. Now I just do it with other people's characters. ;)
Despite the pile of tl;dr srs bsnss below, I am actually very approachable, by which I mean I spend too much time squeeing and making silly macros. I love getting reviews and comments, so please feel free to let me know what you think of my stories. I have a disability that means I'm not as quick replying to feedback as I'd like, but every single comment is appreciated.
I first watched Avatar: the Last Airbender in late 2009 after a friend recommended it to me and I was instantly fascinated by the series, particularly its plot and worldbuilding. There's many, many characters in the series I'm fond of, but my favourites among the main cast are Azula, Katara, and Toph, and my favourite one-shot characters are Sozin and Hama. I find cardboard villains deeply uninteresting, but I tend to find certain types of Well-Intentioned Extremist (to use the TvTropes term) fascinating. I like Sozin because I read him in the canon as an Adrian Veidt (from Watchmen) or Jordan Collier (from The 4400) type of character, someone who's utterly convinced of the brilliance of his plans and the rightness of his intentions (and that the greater good/utopia justify the means); I like Hama because she's a character who's been pushed into thinking that there's no morality and logic other than retribution. I don't in any way condone either character's actions, but I like moral complexity/ambiguity and shades of grey (and I find antagonists I can sympathise with far more unsettling than cackling villains doing it for the EVULZ) so I was instantly drawn to these characters when watching the series for the first time.
Regarding my fics, I tend to write gen and I like to work both on short fics and long, plotty stories. I also like to explore different characters and settings. I am allergic to angst and indifferent to shipping; the only A:tLA ships I'm remotely invested in are RokuxSozin, RokuxSozinxTa Min, and Azula femmeslash (especially with Ty Lee or Katara). I'm far more comfortable writing f/f and m/m than het. I like writing in a variety of genres, but I'm especially fond of mystery, horror, action/adventure, and comedy. My Hama and Sozin-centric fics try to delve into the aspects of the characters I outlined above, and into their evolution from the young people we see in their respective episodes into... well, we know how they end up. ;) I also like AUs and what-ifs and I'm currently in the plotting stage of a novel-length AU focusing on Azula, Katara, Sokka, and Zuko (and more of the main cast later on) and in which things diverged (a lot!) from the canon when Sozin, rather than Roku, turned out to be the Avatar.
