Now back from the Great Hiatus
I have no excuse for why the story was abandoned for so long. At first it was just writers block. The chapter that would link the current story to the end was kicking my butt. Then it was laziness. Then I just sort of forgot about it. However, I made a promise to myself, all those years ago: If I ever wanted to publish another story, The Darling Girl had to be finished first.
So, a few years older, much wiser, and a much improved writer, here I am. I actually cringed when I re-read my profile. Could I have ever been so childish? Yes, yes I could have. And my writing... it was good at the time, but it could have been so much better. I think that might have been why I left The Darling Girl for so long. Because I didn't like how it was turning out. But, while in the process of writing other stories, some fanfic, some original, I kept getting reviews and favorites for my story! It amazed me, that this silly little story, almost a bone fide novel and long since abandoned, was still getting attention. I even got PMs requesting that I come back and finish it. I went back to look at it, and I have almost 200 reviews. Yeah. Almost 200. Holy crap, that's a lot of reviews! And that's why The Darling Girl is going to be finished. Because so many people want it to be. That's my promise to all of you. The Darling Girl will be completed. When, I don't know. But it will be completed before any other fanfic, whether oneshot or novella or anything else gets posted here.
Yeah, this story doesn't have the same excuse as The Darling Girl. Ten reviews, two chapters, and writing that I'm mildly ashamed of. So, sorry to inform you, but this is coming down for now. I will eventually return to it, but that is not now.
Glad you asked. They will only come once The Darling Girl is finished, and not a moment sooner. But I have big plans lurking in the wings. Stay tuned.
