First I'm French so English isn't my first language -even if I think I'm not too bad- so please don't judge me too harshly if I make any mistakes.
I love Harry Potter books even if I find myself disappointed with the 7th. Honestly I find it rushed, first there's the final battle won by a mere fluke, a simple stroke of luck. Second we come to the final principal couples:Harry & Ginny? Please! It makes me want to puke. She's a fangirl who only sees the BWL not the boy behind the fame or scar. There's barely any hint of their romance, until the 5th year and the battle at the Department of Mysteries I nearly forgot her, then in the 6th they're suddenly in love? Incredulous! As to Ron & Hermione? They've got nothing in common apart from Harry's friendship and they're fighting each other most of the time. I don't really think it's the base of a stable relationship but I'm no expert. Also I find it sad thar Rowling killed the Lupins or Fred Weasley. Dumbledore is a manipulative old coot with far too much secrets and Snape is a bastard who can't let go of his grudge against the Marauders and James in particular for both humiliating him and marrying Lily Evans, his (Snape) secret or not so secret love interest. I like Super/Grey/Powerful/Smart Harry, if a fic reunites all these traits? All the better.
Ouf! Rant finished. Now I love books in general but more particularly J.R.R. Tolkien's books, Michael Connelly's books or R.J. Ellory's.
As for films, mmm...I'd say my favourites are Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill ,Inglorious Basterds, the Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Apocalypse Now and Gladiator or more mafia orientated ones like Once upon a time in America, Taxi Driver, the Godfather, Heat, Goodfellas and Scarface.
On T.V. I appreciate Stargate SG1, the Pretender, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, NCIS and german Der Clown as well as occasionally WWE RAW.
