Hello I am Miss-DNL. You can call me DNL for short.
I am a fan of many things and I often hop to one to the other.

Me and Fanfiction
When I write I do my best to stick to what was given to me from the what the creators make, and what is cannon. Of course being a fanfic writer I do tend to do things a bit differently at times and interpret things in ways others might not. In that case I try to be logical with what I do and not go crazy and ruin the fandom that I love. Which many tend to do, not all but a lot. To me as a writer and artist with my own characters I wouldn't want some person coming along and fucking everything up for their own uses. I've seen many characters ruined by their supposed fans. To be exact I'll go into detail about how I feel about certain things used in fanfiction.
AU or Alternate Universes: I actually like this idea it does liberate writers and allows them to do more. I believe people should mark their stories as AUs to cause less trouble for themselves and give their readers a heads up to avoid confusion. How far one should go with an AU is a bit hard to say, at least it should make sense and try to stay true to the characters personalities and traits so its easier to pictures the character in that role.
Shippings: This regards Non-cannon shippings. To this...there are ones I hate, dislike, am neutral on, okay with and love. There are some characters out there that I believe should NOT be paired with anyone. Other times I may like a pairing with a character that has a cannon pairing. Shippings can be fun and I have a few that I do love that are odd. People get VERY defensive of their favorite pairings becoming rabid fangirls as I call them, as it is typically girls though boys can get pissy too of course. I have yet to meet a rabid fan though I have had the "I don't like this pairing but this is nice" sort of people which I find this a bit rude...its like "I don't like what you wrote but it's nice"...yeah pretty rude. Anyhow like all people I feel differently about different pairings like most and in some fandoms like Invader Zim I don't care for any pairings.
Genderbends: I avoid these, I don't hate them per say it's just that making a guy a girl and pairing him with another guy just doesn't seem right to me especially when the one turned into a girl acts completely different. I don't think becoming a different sex would change ones personalty so much and it bothers me further as being on DA they often dress as a slut for some strange reason.
Yaoi/Yuri:...I'm just going to say this. Sorry, I mean no offense. I don't like it, that's all. It's not in my tastes.
Ocs: I'm touchy on this...a lot of stories I've read...their often paired with a character and are often in a relationship of sorts...and it often doesn't go well...their often mary sues to me. Pushing a relationship onto a character who obviously wouldn't be interested. If its not hinted or mentioned in the cannon DON'T MAKE STUFF UP. If you really want a good ocs, try don't go the lazy rout and make things up. If an oc isn't in love with someone I'm more interested. Personally I won't even touch oc x cannon because that just tends to go south real easy for me. It's predictable and far too cliche now. Now whenever I see some girl character not mentioned in the cannon I can tell that this story is going down romance creek and it bothers me especially when things were going so well. Good writing or bad writing it doesn't matter I don't care for it.
Smut & Rape: No...just no.
How I Write:
Process: I suppose I write very offhand. I sit down I got at it. I don't plan much per say, which I know isn't very professional at all but it's what works for me. When I feel like it I go back and re-read a chapter to find errors and correct them. I'm not 100% strict on grammar, if I get my idea across then that's good enough. I want to get my work up soon as I can because I can never tell how far I'll get with something. So I have plenty of respect for people who put that effort in, but that doesn't mean that their stories are good. I mean Twilight sold a lot and the story was, in my opinion, terrible. Kudos for the success but I didn't care for it all. When I type I try putting a good amount of detail in but i'm not gonna describe every grain of sand it slows the story down in my opinion. If it's important I'll describe it.
OCs: Being as I don't really like them outside of completely original works I won't make many. If I do they have a specific purpose and won't have any romance dealing with them. Otherwise their just space fillers, characters taking a role and gave them a name so I couldn't have to keep calling them by their role.
Requests & Commissions: I have my own stories I'm working on all the time. So no, I don't have time to take up works for other people.
