Author has written 11 stories for Katekyo Hitman Reborn!, Lord of the Rings, How to Train Your Dragon, and Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
Hello curious reader! Thanks for taking the time to check out my profile! I'm Syrlai and I'm mostly known for writing fanfictions for Katekyo Hitman Reborn which is my favorite anime ever. I'm fully aware that its a far cry from perfect and that's absolutely why I love it - there's so much material to be used but due to its premature ending a lot of fans were left with huge gaping hole in their hearts including me. So I made it into a personal mission to rectify that through my fanfics. I provide a solid background as I weave my stories and I hope that readers would enjoy my take on KHR's lore. I don't think I'll ever feel better about KHR ending the way it did but I am very thankful that it left so much space for the imagination to take hold.
However I'm very famous for not updating for months at a time sometimes. I was hit with a very dire condition called "Writer's Block" and the occasional plot bunny. It's mostly the reason why I don't update when I should. So do forgive me if I'm taking a long time. I do intend to finish my stories one way or another.
But back to me, the writer. I'm going to leave a brief summary of what sort of person I am and what sort of fanfics I read.
Just to clarify that last one, I am indeed a bona fide woman
Shout outs to my friend who I shall call Cyrim for the lovely drawing of me! I dare say it depicts my outward intentions well.
Also, to the readers who stuck with me since 2011, I'd like to thank you all. I hope you guys will continue to stick around. Lastly, if anyone has any questions about anything feel free to ask me. Questions are always welcome so long as you ask me nicely.
If you don't like it then stop reading it.
I honestly do like to receive constructive criticism however if it's written in a roundabout way of your personal feelings being the main point then don't bother reviewing. This section of my profile is dedicated to the annoying twats that just doesn't seem to open their minds to many possibilities that fanfiction offers and what I mean mostly, is when they don't particularly like how this one aspect of the story works. I don't cater to your whims. I write what I want to.
"I don't like how you've written this character." - well everyone has their own take on a series of characters. I've read fanfictions where the characters are beyond out-of character. If you don't like how I portrayed your obvious favorite character then by all means, there's plenty of others that I'm sure are better suited for your opinions. No need to bitch about it. That's what I do when I see things I don't like. I don't tell the author of how offensive I find their character portrayals sometimes, I just leave because while I disagree, I do think their writing was good. No need to hurt the author's feelings.
Things I hate in correlation to the one above.
I don't mind guest reviewers. Some people are too lazy to get accounts like I did when I first came to this site or just lazy in general to open their account. What I hate are the anonymous guest reviewers who leaves a review as mentioned above. They're not even constructive. It's cowardly. They didn't have the guts to tell me in their account or a temporary name how much I've done injustice to them so they go all 'keyboard warrior'. It's childish and really just annoying. Hiding behind anonymous is just downright spineless. I would have taken it much more calmly if they had used their account but they didn't and now I feel like I'm wasting time on a troll.
The worst part is when their name is literally "Guest"
Well, you are indeed a guest when you start reading my story but when you leave you are no longer a "Guest".
"If you don't have anything good to say then don't say anything at all."
That's basic etiquette right there. You don't need a full high school and college education to learn that. FF is a place where authors can go wild with their imagination. You putting a damper on that just because it doesn't fit with your taste ruins that. The story is not yours to dictate and if it's not for you, don't make it about what you want.
