Hi, I'm Ada... very new to the fanfiction realm, but an avid anime enthusist. There are so many random stories floating around in my head (along with all the other chaos in there) and I can't wait to get them written out here. Hope you like at least one of them! Also, if you have any requests, just message me and I'll see what I can do... I work full time in IT, but I'll find time eventually.
So, enough about me! Now it's shameless plug time!
If you live anywhere in or around Pennsylvania, or if you just love anime so much that it's worth the hike to get out to Pittsburgh, there are a few Anime Convention you need to know about!
Tekkoshocon X - Japanese Pop Culture Con (www.tekkoshocon.com)
Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh
LAST DAY TO PRE-REGISTER (and save $5) IS FEBRUARY 29TH!!!
Awesome anime con with something for everyone! My personal favorites include: the concerts, the dance, and the AMV room.
Seriously though, the concerts are totally amazing! If you are into J-pop or VK groups, you are in for a real treat!
This year musical guests include: Exist Trace, Soundwitch, and Mega Ran!
With guests of honor: Travis Willingham, Todd Haberkorn, David J. Fielding, Uncle Yo, and Kevin McKeever
The Sangawa Project- 18+ Anime Con (www.sangawaproject.com)
July 15th - 17th at the Best Western in Greetree, PA
NO, 18+ does not mean it's all porn! In fact in the first run of the con at the beginning of December, there were very few hentai related panels or viewings. What it did have though was an awesome environment where older fans could get together and not only discuss alot of the earlier anime they enjoyed, but also the new fandoms that caught their attention. Combine that with the cocktail hour/meet and greet, sake tasting and the cosplay bathrobe/towel competition, and you got yourself one hell of a party!
PS - If you do come, I will be hosting two "Drink Alongs" (21+) where you bring your Sangawa shot glass, and I bring the movies and alcohols, and we let the shenanigans ensue! Don't have your very own spiffy Sangawa shot glass? Never fear! We will have extras onsite...
Kurokiiro Festival- Educational Anime Festival (www.kurokiiro.com)
Location and Dates for 2012 are TBD
Targeted towards those who are interested in learning more, not only about anime, but also Japanese culture and history, this festival aims to combine educational benefits with the fun you have come to expect from anime conventions. Some of the highlights from this year's festival included a Maid and Host Cafe, a Japanese style variety show, a formal cosplay dance, and panels offering information about travel abroad to Japan or popular Japanese foods and where to find them locally.
