'Lo! Quick note to my clients (ha!):
Guys, the two weeks have been long, but I now have enough time to finally get out that last chapters you all sent me. Thank you for waiting, it's been stressful. My mum just had surgery, so that's been a bit on the hairy side and school work's been piling up. The university just isn't all what it's cracked up to be! (And neither is year eleven for that matter.)
Updates: Started beta-ing second chapter of Tammie's original story Hip Hoppity, a thousand apologies to TwinkLeToes, you'll have to send me the fic again because Yahoo! ate it (I -know-! Try sending it to another account of mine). Cyrus! I am so sorry! I apologize and will get right on that chapter you sent me now! Never fear, for I will have it done by Sunday. Things like this happen, sometimes. But never stop writing because of a defective beta-reader, my friend, you are a genius. Maintanziao, you're going to have to chat with me on a few ideas, I've got too many to send via e-mail. Your plot is great but I haven't quite figured out how we're going to get you there.
Alright. As always, even though it looks like I have a lot on my plate, in reality I don't. If you wish, send me your fics and I will beta-read them for you or direct you to another beta reader that knows your fandom inside and out! --Vision
Psuedonym: Vision
Fanfic?: Currently beta reader, writes often but does not post fic (will give with request)
Fandom: LOTR, BTVS, AtS, XME, Digimon (S1&2 only), HP, Now and Again, Ranma 1/2, Diadem, Everworld, Animorphs, CCS, and, as always, original stories [list constantly growing]
Request?: Yes, beta--by e-mail (see above) or I'll review and request myself =)
Ship?: Yes, I do ship, but since I am a beta reader, I am open to everyone and everything.
Beta specifics: I do edit NC-17 fics, but only on a case-by-case basis. I will not edit smut/yaoi/yuri. I will edit slash/shounen-ai/shoujo-ai fics. If you want me to edit your fic for syntax only, make sure to inform me, otherwise I will question your plot, your adherence to canon, your characterizations and everything in between from html to your lead-in. I advocate prologues and abhor author's notes. Tip to the wise: when responding to your reviewers, e-mail them if it really mattered to you, or otherwise thank them all at the end of your story with a final "Thank You" chapter. Constant breaks for chatting with reviewers when reading your story for the first time from the first chapter on breaks the mood you've established. The only time these constant respond breaks are acceptable are in badfic, script-form parodies and spastic humor fics where things like that are supposed to be there.
Communication: e-mail address as above or through review.
Query: Go ahead! I'll help you as much as I can, and even if I cant, I'll find someone else to help you.
Motto: Now I have to go all serious and stuff. There are always people to help you out and resources that remain untapped. Go for it, research it, and do it. It's the only way you learn! Also, "Give me the chocolate and no one gets hurt."
Any Last Words?: Today...nitwick, blubber, oddment, tweak.
