Author has written 7 stories for Sherlock Holmes, Mairelon the Magician/Magician's Ward, Shakespeare, and Firefly.

Welcome to the place I exercise my fanfiction-writing alter ego.

Important Note:

If a particular story hasn't been updated in weeks or months, it doesn't mean I've abandoned it. I suffer from chronic health problems that mean I must occasionally take a break from fanfic. I also like working on more than one story at once - it keeps me entertained, but it does make chapter updates less frequent. But if I start a story, I believe I'm honor-bound to finish it, so if you're willing to wait, it will happen, I promise.

About Me:

I have been described by various people as reminding them of Yoda from Star Wars, Kaylee from Firefly, and Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter. So just put those three together and you have a good idea of what it means to be me. I enjoy literature, drama, laughing, chocolate, history, dancing, and good friends. As for my pen name, "Loki" is a Norse trickster god. I am his official campaign manager. And yes, I thought of that before "Avengers" came out.

About My Stories:

You won't find excessive swearing or excessive sexual content in my stories, but there will be some violence and psychological drama. In my opinion (and Oscar Wilde's) books are neither moral nor immoral - just well-written or badly written. You can see individual stories for their individual warnings.

Friday Night Candles is a story in progress, a sequel to Usurer's Mercy (see below). It is set in the universe of The Merchant of Venice, by William Shakespeare, and Chapter 4 is now being written.

Blackout Zone is a story in progress, set in the Firefly 'verse created by the amazing Joss Whedon. Chapter 16 is now being written.

Magician Maligned is a story in progress from the Mairelon the Magician/Magician's Ward universe (by Patricia C. Wrede). Chapter 9 is now being written.

Usurer's Mercy is a completed story, set in the universe of The Merchant of Venice, by William Shakespeare, and written 2011-2012. As stated above, it now has a sequel - Friday Night Candles.

The Catalyst Client and Transforming Reactions are both completed stories, set in the Sherlock Holmes universe (books, not TV series or movies), and written 2010-2011. I suggested at one point I might return to them. I am sorry to say that is now unlikely - my writing has dramatically improved since, and the style I began then no longer suits me. I may write for that fandom again someday, though.

Communities

I manage a community, These Were Hidden Fires, which is a home for canonically-toned romance between Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson (Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, not BBC). I'm also on the staff of the Firefly Romance community, which contains a variety of pairings.

I can also be found on Archive of Our Own, where my username is Prospero. Most of the stories that are here are also there, if you prefer that format.

Quotes To Enjoy:

"Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much." -- Oscar Wilde.

"Put your hand on a stove for a minute and it seems like an hour. Sit with that special girl for an hour and it seems like a minute. That's relativity." -- Albert Einstein.

"Psychic, though? That sounds like something out of science fiction." "We live in a spaceship, dear." -- Wash and Zoe from the Firefly episode 'Objects in Space.'

"It's a shallow person who judges others by how they look. I'm so shallow I'm surprised I don't reflect myself." -- Neal in Tamora Pierce's First Test.

"From now on, ending a sentence with a preposition is something up with which I will not put." -- Winston Churchill.

"In the Beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move." -- Douglas Adams

"Everybody cries when they're stabbed; there's no shame in that!" -- Richard Smith-Jones in Slings and Arrows

"Human salvation lies in the hands of the creatively maladjusted." -- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

"Also, I can kill you with my brain." -- River Tam in the Firefly episode 'Trash'
