Pictures for my stories:
My fandoms are Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Sherlock, Supernatural, A Series Of Unfortunate Events, The Underland Chronicles, Matilda, Brave, The Avengers, The Hunger Games, and Merlin, among a couple other lesser things.
Harry Potter was my childhood. I've known it since I was four and I honestly can't imagine life without it. It taught me so much. As for the others...
Doctor Who taught me that violence is rarely the answer, that everyone is special and everyone matters, and that there's nothing wrong with never acting your age. Sherlock taught me that everyone can find acceptance, and that's it's okay to be smart. Merlin taught me that there is good in everything, that anyone can be a hero, and that there is a good side to everyone. (Also, that Merlin is my precious little baby and I love him). The Hunger Games taught me that everyone has someone worth fighting for and that sometimes you have to be willing to fight for what is right even if you're scared. Supernatural taught me that every deserves a second chance. And a third. And a fourth. Underland taught me that anyone can be amazing, and you can sometimes find a fantastic person in an unusual place. Brave is just the best movie ever and I love literally everything about it. Matilda taught me that everyone can find a family, and that we all have powers inside of us. The Avengers taught me that everyone can work together no matter if they agree or not. A Series Of Unfortunate Events taught me that there is always good in the world.
My name is Kaitlyn, but I'd rather go by Kit because Kit is an awesome name, I think. Hufflepuff. Pansexual. Aspie. Lunatic with too many ideas and too little time. Aspiring author. Lover of vintage clothing and any merchandise related to my fandoms. I love to travel, shop, porn, and cold weather. I'm half Scottish, half Irish, and wannabe British.

THE TWINS WHO LIVED THINGS:
The Girls Who Lived:This chapter was fast and easy, basically an introduction. You see, I didn't want to verbatim copy Jo, and we didn't need to hear all about Vernon's day, because this story is focusing on how the twins and their friends feel and react, not on the whole HP universe.
The Twins Get Letters:This chapter was freakishly long and basically three chapters in one, but I just couldn't break it up. It was rather easy to write, though I will say that I get emotional with the twins at times when they are so surprised that people actually like them.
The Hogwarts Express:This was fun. I loved introducing the others and showing their personalties. I cut out as much house bias as I could, because I feel like Tabitha and Matilda wouldn't be biased against Slytherin until they had proof many Slytherins were mean. But all in all, I loved this chapter, because they finally make friends. (SPOILERS: Of course, Aaric and Euterpe are made up, and its AU that Neville is a friend, but then again the twins are AU aren't they? I love Aaric and Euterpe like my own children, just how I do all the others. They are perfectly three-dimensional to me, and if you don't fell like they are, please tell me so I can try to explain/fix it.)
The Sorting: It took a lot of research. I wanted to include as many students being sorted as possible. Of course, I didn't get them all. But I tried. Otherwise, this is rather close to cannon and is fun to read.
The First Day:This chapter was filler things about Hogwarts and a lot of background on the other characters. Also, you see the twins interacting together more. Just general character-building.
The Resorting: This literally came out of no-where. SPOILERS: I started this and suddenly Millie Bulstrode and...it just happens. And I love her just like the others. I can't imagine the group without their sly comedian now.
The Flying Lesson: I felt the twins' nervousness as I wrote this. And then they got in the air and...simple. This chapter was just like that. The [SPOILERS] double-seeker idea was my old Beta's, and I love it now. It makes so much sense, because really the risks do almost outweigh the gain.
The Midnight Duel:This was the groups first fight against each other. SPOILERS: With Hermione and Euterpe, the sensible ones, trying to talk the others out of the duel, things got rather heated. Of course, they made up quickly, but it was straining. I hate when they fight.
The Troll: Love the teamwork. I just really liked this in general. It was exciting and funny to write and read.
The Quidditch Match: This was so suspenseful. I nearly cried several times.
The First-Ever Presents: Loved this chapter. Of course, I love Christmas also, so that might be a contributing factor. Also, you get to meet the Burbage family, which is nice. I like them a lot; they're good people.
The Noble Estate: I have Thalia Noble feels. I just feel so bad for her. That's all I can say about this chapter, other than we meet some more kids, which was interesting. And thinking about what everyone would see in the mirror was an interesting challenge.
The Quidditch Match Again: A very fast and short chapter. My favourite part was the fight :)
The Questionings: This was a humours chapter...for the first part, at least (personally I loved Hagrid's revelation . I also loved that they finally got an adult to believe them.
The Hatching (Dragon, Part I): Besides Norbert, there is also a lot of character development in here and lots of friend-stuff.
The Escape (Dragon, Part II): Same as the previous, but also WOW SUDDENLY PLOT TWIST. I don't know where it came from, but there you have it.
The Detention: Kinda creepy. Also a bit funny and more weird plot twist. And Parkinson and Malfoy bashing!
The Realization: I loved Tabitha and Matilda's speech the very most.
The Trap Door: Suspenseful and sometimes scary. I did like this a lot though. It was fun to add the extra puzzles. Also, I love that SPOILERS the others finally learned how bad the Dursleys really are. Then, of course, there's that crazy plot twist in the end. Apparently, I have three per book.
The Truth: I liked this. I like Dumbledore a lot...when I'm not making him evil :) Lots of twin/twin interaction and a little emotional.
The End-Of-Year-Feast: This is where I begin to get emotional. Loved adding up the points!
The End: Not afraid to admit I cried. Lots to look forward to, though, and of course the end bit with the Dursleys made me chuckle.
THE CHARACTERS AT A GLANCE
Tabitha Lilian Jamie Potter and Matilda Violet Alice Potter
Tabitha's middle names are after her mother and father, even though Lily's full name was actually Lily, and not Lillian.
Matilda's middle names are after Lily and Petunia's mother (in my story her name was Violet Jane Evans) and Alice Longbottom. Someone pointed out to me a long time ago that it was likely that Alice and Lily were friends, so in my headcannon they were, and Lily decided to honor that.
The twins are exactly alike in looks, with chest-length black hair (usually braided after they get it styled) and bangs that end just over their eyes, and they wear large black-framed glasses, like Ray bans (during the first book, at least, and in COS they let their bangs grow out and wear their hair a bit longer). Their scars are on their left sides. They are very alike in personality, though Tabitha is a little more commanding and better and Transfiguration, while Matilda is quieter and more thoughtful, and can sometimes be more sensitive, but excels in Potions a little more. (Both are great in Charms like their mother and of course at Defense Against the Dark Arts.)
The twins’ birthday is July 31.
Both girls have wands of the same length (ten and a half inches) and the same wood (Holly), but Tabitha’s core is Phoenix and Augury feather, and Matilda’s is Phoenix and Hippogriff Feather.
Euterpe Imogene Noble - Euterpe was raised by her grandmother (Thalia Jemima Noble) after her parents died. She is kind and generous, and firmly against people being mean to others, especially smaller or younger people. She has been friends with Neville since they were two, and the arranged marriage their grandmothers set up really doesn’t bother her. She has seen how Neville acts when he’s just with her, and therefore comfortable, and definitely has basis in believing that he will one day be ‘very good-looking and brave’, although personally she already thinks he is. Euterpe has medium brown hair that ends just under her ears and kind of half-bangs over the right side of her forehead. She has kind of green/brown eyes. She excels in Transfiguration, Charms, and Defense, but is hopeless with both Arithmancy and Ancient Runes (or any language besides Latin really). Euterpe is very smart and absorbs more material well.
Euterpe’s birthday is June 30th.
Her wand is an eight inch Willow with Unicorn hair.
Neville Alastor Longbottom – Neville lives with his grandmother as well, and as we all know, his parents were tortured into insanity by Bellatrix Lestrange. Neville is not very confident, but is amazing in Herbology. He is also very good at Defense, mastering spells usually right after Hermione does, due to his fierce protective instincts, and righteous anger against Death Eaters. He worries about his arranged marriage with Euterpe not because he doesn’t like her or thinks she has ‘cooties’, but because he thinks that sooner or latter she’ll realize that he’s not good enough for her…or just plain not good enough.
Neville’s birthday is July 30.
After finding out the Neville had partially come out of his shell and made some friends, his gran thought he should have a new wand. Over Christmas break, she bought him a thirteen inch Cherry wand with Unicorn hair.
Aaric Euan MacDonald - Aaric has had a very normal wizarding childhood; He has a little sister named Natalie whom he loves, and his parents, July and August, are both wizards. July works at Diagon Alley in Florish and Blotts, and August works in the Department of Magical Games and Sports. Aaric is more like Harry would be, were he in this universe; good with magic, but not very hard working (though not as… inclined to slacking as Ron), kind of confused when it comes to girls he might like, modest in his abilities, and compassionate, but prone to anger and quick-judgment occasionally, if someone hurts someone he loves. Aaric has medium blond hair, thin and wispy, and dark green eyes.
Aaric’s birthday is January 17.
Aaric’s wand is eleven inches, Cedar with Dragon Heartstring and Demiguise hair core.
Millie (Millicent) Beulah Bulstrode – Millie’s mum was in Ravenclaw, her dad in Slytherin (but one of the decent ones); all of her relatives for several generations have been in Slytherin or Ravenclaw, and by being re-sorted into Gryffindor, she know most of her relatives (besides two aunts, one Uncle, and her parents) will likely cut her off, at the best. Millie hasn’t found anything she particularly excels at yet, but for now she is just happy to have so many great friends. She is what some would call chubby, but she has a lot of muscle too, just like her mother. Her curly brown hair is frizzy and wild, but she immediately looks like a kind and funny person, which she is.
Millie’s birthday is February 10.
Millie’s wand is nine and a half inches of Pine (an unusual choice for wands) and has a combined core of Dragon Heartstring and Unicorn Hair.
Ronald Billius Weasley –As we all know, Ron grew up in Ottery St. Catchpole with his six other siblings and loving parents. Like Aaric, Ron had a very normal wizarding childhood. His mother takes care of everything around the house, while his father is a ministry employee in the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts office. Compared to his brothers – Charlie, the amazing dragon tamer, Bill, the Code Breaker, Percy, the overachiever, and even the twins – Ron feels very insignificant. Three out of his five brothers were prefects, three were Quidditch stars, and most had good grades. In Ron’s opinion, even Ginny is better than him – she’s the only girl, the youngest, and great at nearly everything she tries. It was a huge self-esteem boost for Ron to become friends with The Girls Who Lived, and he’s starting to realize that he doesn’t have to be Charlie or Bill or Percy to be an important person – he’s important just because he’s Ron.
Ron’s birthday is March 3.
Ron has a 12 inch wand made of ash with a core of unicorn hair that used to be Charlie’s.
Hermione Jean Granger –Hermione was raised by her parents Walter and Jean, both dentists. She has a younger sister named Violinta, who is three years younger than Hermione. They were all shocked when she got her letter, then again even more so a few days later when Professor McGonagall came by to explain it all. Her parents, Hermione can tell, are a bit mystified by her, but they’re very proud all the same. Until Hogwarts, Hermione had never really had any friends. Due to her label as a know-it-all, no one tried to get close to her until she met the twins, Euterpe, Neville, Aaric, and Ron.
Hermione’s birthday is September 19.
Vine, dragon heartstring, 103/4 inches
REGARDING LUCY POTTER:
This story was originally posted at one of my other ffn accounts here (http://www.fanfiction.net/u/3116246/PAINTIndigoAndBasalColours), but it's so special to me that I had to move it here, to my main account. [NOTE, POSTED OCTOBER 25 2012: IT'S NOT UP YET. I AM STILL IN THE PROCESS, IT NEEDED T BE EDITED A LOT)
By the way, Lucy's full name is Luciana Lily Potter. Luciana is pronounced in the Italian way - Loo-chee-ah-na. It means 'light, moon.'
Story behind GWL:
I've always had a found spot for stories where girl!Harry is loved by Petunia, whom always wanted a girl. I just couldn't see Vernon caring for a Potter child, so I made him...well, indifferent at best. That doesn't, mind, mean that Lucy has a wonderful life or an easy time at Hogwarts.
I found one, a story just like this, a few weeks before I started this that seemed promising, but when I read it it was one of those spoiled-brat-child-who-lives stories. "Harry" was in Ravenclaw and looked down on everyone but the Slytherins. She talked like she was a hundred. Just because the character is smart doesn't mean they have to talk like adults rather than children!!! I was sick of those Hufflepuff-bashing stories, so that's how Lucy became a 'Puff.
Originally, Lucy was friends with some students from all houses, but I've done this route before, and after a LOT of thought, I decided to make all her friends 'Puffs.
[Hufflepuff information for those who think 'Puffs are idiots, stupid, or 'sheep': http://lady-slytherin-forever.tumblr.com/post/9001123651/hufflepuff-spoilers]
If you want to know the backgrounds and why I picked these characters, read below.
I picked Megan, Hannah, and Susan because they're under-appreciated have loads of potential, and of course they're in the correct house.
I picked Lila (origanally called Lily before Harry's mum was named, so I changed it a tiny bit) because JKR said she was originally a lot like Luna. I could see her and Luna being similar, and I love them both.
Wayne I picked because I use him a lot. He's a bit like Ron in this story, but not very much.
Neville is a BAMF, so that's self-explanatory. Also, I changed his house, yes. Not because I don't think Neville's brave, but because I think he would do equally as well in Hufflepuff. He's fair, hard-working, loyal, and friendly. Mind, Neville won't be any less brave. Remember that Deathly Hallows specified that the only house that had more volunteers to fight than Gryffindor was Hufflepuff.
I wanted 7 main characters. For reasons that should be obvious to any devoted fan ;)
Also, there will be NO anyone bashing. Lucy is a 'Puff (and so am I), and we don't bash, period. Ron won't be stupid or annoying, Ginny won't be an little chit only interested in fame, and Lucy won't hate Draco and Pansy (who will team up to pick on her). She doesn't like them, of course, but only really gets angry when they make fun of her friends - just like a Hufflepuff should.
PICTURES OF HOW I IMAGINE LUCY AND HER FRIENDS CAN BE FOUND HERE: https://plus.google.com/photos/107602844291212146459/albums/5813857705503503793?authkey=CJS_v_LI09yW6wE
THE GIRL WHO WAS CHOSEN:
Madeleine was slightly inspired by another writer's fem!slytherin!harry, but is not very similar in the end. Originally, Madeleine's name was Aurora - Rora, but for some reason Madeleine just seemed better (by the way, that's mad-a-line, with a long I).
FULL SUMMARY AND DETAILS:
Why can Madeleine Potter do such strange things at times? Because she's a witch, of course! Join fem!Slytherin!not dark!Harry as she discovers an endless box, her own powers, and, soon, the Wizarding world. Featuring girl!Harry, meaner!Uncle Vernon, nicer!Aunt Petunia, Millie Bulstrode, Tracey Davis, Daphne Greengrass, and less Slytherin favouritism by Snape. Slight language.
Madeleine will not be dark. There will be no bashing. Snape will not like Madeleine he WILL be a tad easier on her, but not very much. The Weasleys, Hermione, Dumbledore, Lupin, and Sirius will NOT be hated or bashed. At most, they will be ignored. Ron, Hermione, and the other Gryffindors will probably just not be mentioned until book five or so, except in passing. Madeleine will be more suspicious of Dumbledore, but will not hate him. Lupin and Sirius are still father-figures to her; nothing is changing there.
For quick reference, her friends, housemates, and future pairings. PLEASE DO NOT READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE SPOILED!
Slytherin students in first year:
Draco, Pansy, Crabbe, and Goyle will not be good guys. They will be pure-blood fanatics, which Madeleine doesn't like. Draco will be just like in the books. THEY WILL NOT BE TOGETHER OR BE FRIENDS.
Madeleine will be friends with Millicent Bulstrode (Millie), Tracey Davis, and Daphne Greengrass. Some information about them below:
Millie has a black cat (Edsel) and is pure–blood. Her parents are Linwood and Winifred.
Daphne is a pure blood. She has a younger sister called Astoria, who is a year younger. Her parents are parents Camilla and Henry.
Tracey is a half blood. She has four younger siblings - Curtis is a year younger, and the triplets (Dana, Dexter and Drew) are three years younger. Her parents are Amy (a Muggleborn) and Tad (a pure-blood).
POSSIBLE PAIRINGS: (These are only possible, as I have not decided yet. None of them will be explicit. If you don't like them not, just wait until they're developed a bit before you decide you hate me, okay?).
Daphne/Parvati or Padma Patil
Any suggestions for pairings or sublots? Please message me!
