Author has written 2 stories for Mortal Instruments.
Fanfiction for me is a guilty pleasure. I'm able to read about my favorite characters doing unexpected things (some hotly anticipated...btw "oh my !" on the dance floor encounter in "Chaos" By left me breathless and craving more from Jace and Clary ) in unexpected places, in random, mundane and even outlandish ways. I love to read how writers manipulate characters (some incredibly well, even expertly) to fit roles they were not created (in the original author's mind) to play in well-crafted plots that keep readers enthralled. I love falling in love with the characters over and over again as they grow, make choices, self-destruct and rebuild themselves. I'm captivated by the relationships, the trials the couples endure, the demons ( both figurative and literal--it is TMI after all) they must slay, the tensions--between characters, sexual and not, the internal battles, and the violence, the love, the debauchery, the tragic, the erotic, the gross, the dark, the hopeful themes that play out daily in the FanFiction format.
I'm new to writing FanFiction. Writing to me, as it is to most, is highly personal (even if the characters are not originally mine). Sharing writing is unnatural for me. I feel like I'm bearing my soul to the destructive as well as constructive forces that might happen upon it. Dramatic much? Most definitely!
