I love to travel, especially the cheap kind in out of the way places. I'm not that good at directions OR pronouncing languages, though, so I've gotten very good at the universal "look bewildered and point to a location on a map or an address I wrote down." I'm still not sure what I said to that guy in Meknes, Morocco, who tried so hard not to laugh until he gave up and was almost rolling on the floor. I thought I just asked I was heading in the right direction for the bus station...for all I know, he's still laughing.

I also write stories to read to my niece, who is at the age where no story can't be improved by throwing in another dinosaur. Or a dragon, but dinosaurs are best. She draws the pictures and adds in a few extra background dinosaurs.
