About Dear Togashi
Well that story is probably the most random thing I've ever written. It's silly, sassy and writing it is pure entertainment for me. But the thing is, writing humor is very difficult, probably more difficult than any other genre. Because what makes you laugh probably won't make your friend laugh. That's why I need to be in a certain mood to write it, so I definitely don't have an updating schedule. It's great to know that it made a lot of you laugh, though! How awesome is that?
About The Lost Night
This story is a trilogy, which means it's probably the length of three books. Currently, the third arc is being written. I'd have preferred to start the third arc in a separate story, like most authors do, but I didn't feel good about separating the arcs from one another because all of them connect and complete each other.
Here's a longer summary for the story:
I understand that this is not a story for every taste. If you need an easy-read, fluffy, happy-go-lucky fic, then I suggest you look elsewhere. There are so many levels to The Lost Night—plots, subplots, shades of gray—it's unconventional, dark, strange, emotionally-driven, ironical, angst-ridden, but nonetheless, real in its own sense. The main theme in this story is the constant struggle between revenge and forgiveness; forgiveness of situations, forgiveness of others, and forgiveness of self. It's a story about family, brotherhood, hardships, heartbreak, overcoming obstacles, trust, and most of all, trying to believe in a relationship that may seem hopeless.
How did it all start?
I was getting fairly sick and tired of the attitude of "Killua is so mind-blowingly awesome and cool" that I find everywhere here. TLN doesn't antagonize him; he certainly doesn't deserve that. But I wanted to explore his matured and improved nature to demonstrate the duality of his dark/human side, along with, of course, his impressionistic/romantic side. Because I believe he has something profoundly deeper about his character than what's on the surface. So I guess another important theme in this story is the battle of evil and good. There's only so long you can sustain that two-dimensional evil before you have to learn about its roots; you have to find out where that came from. You need to sort of understand him if you're going to relate with him in the slightest. So, I wanted to expand upon the character's attributes and his history, and portray him through the eyes of a blabbering, strong-willed heroine.
