Fav characters? Sunset Shimmer, Applejack, Discord, Rarity, Adagio Dazzle, Pinkie Pie, Twilight Sparkle, Lord Tirek, Princess Celestia and Spike
Least fav characters? Starlight Glimmer, Princess Luna, Diamond Tiara, Prince Blueblood, Babs Seed, Garble, Snips, Lightning Dust, Angel and Principal Cinch
Fav background pony? Minuette
Least fav background pony? Time Turner. Probably because I don't like Doctor Who.
Fav Mane Six member? Applejack. But Rarity comes at a close second.
Least fav Mane Six member? Probably Rainbow Dash, but by default. I don't dislike any of the Mane Six, it's just that someone has to come last.
Fav CMC? Sweetie Belle
Least fav CMC? Probably Apple Bloom. By default. Again.
Fav princess? Twilight. Excellent plan in Twilight's Kingdom, Celestia, to give all your magic to the most competent princess in the room!
Least fav princess? Luna. One, her fanbase is insane. Two, she's boring as hell. And three, she put all of Equestria in danger just so she could continue wallowing in her guilt instead of getting psychological help.
Most overrated character? Luna.
Most underrated character? Sombra.
Fav season? Season 4
Least fav season? Season 1, but I don't hate it. It's just... kinda cringeworthy and extremely girly when compared to the other seasons.
Fav episode? Twilight's Kingdom. But Gauntlet of Fire and Tanks for the Memories come close.
Least fav episode? Somepony to Watch Over Me. Objectively it's probably not the absolute worst episode in the show. But this one pisses me off the most, I mean, it’s just… GAAAH! Applejack being an idiot, terrible moral, missed opportunities, AAARGH!
Most okay episode? Hmm... probably 28 Pranks Later.
Most forgettable episode? Appleoosa's Most Wanted.
Fav episode focused on your fav Mane Six member? A three-way tie between The Mane Attraction, Leap of Faith and The Last Roundup.
Fav episodes focused on the other Mane Six? RARITY: Sisterhooves Social. RAINBOW DASH: Tanks for the Memories and Sonic Rainboom. FLUTTERSHY: It Ain't Easy Being Breezies and Hurricane Fluttershy. TWILIGHT SPARKLE: Twilight's Kingdom and Amending Fences. PINKIE PIE: Pinkie Pride.
And the CMC? Hearts and Hooves Day.
Don't forget Spike. Gauntlet of Fire and Equestria Games.
How about Starlight? HA! Okay, in all seriousness, I guess A Hearth's Warming Tail. But only by default, her character still sucks.
Any episode you hate but everyone else loves? Every Little Thing She Does and Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep.
The other way around? It Ain't Easy Being Breezies, Hearts and Hooves Day and Equestria Games.
How about a episode everyone loves but you find good/okay? Slice of Life and A Hearth's Warming Tail.
Any guilty pleasure episodes? Power Ponies. I know the superpowers are pretty much exaggerated or downplayed versions of their abilities they already have. I know they use superhero clichés rather than satirise them. I know it would've been more interesting if the Mane-iac had come into Equestria. I know it makes the Mane Six incompetent in order to make Spike useful. I know the consistency is off with Rarity mastering her new superpower right away while Applejack, Rainbow Dash and Twilight were having trouble mastering powers and weapons they've pretty much had their whole lives. I know it's an incredibly stupid filler episode... but I love superheroes.
Any episode you didn't like at first but grew to like when you watched it again? A Dog and Pony Show.
Have you ever skipped an episode? As tempted as I have been for episodes centred around my least favourite characters (looking at you, Starlight), I never have. Just in case I miss out on any good lessons or comedy.
Fav season premiere and finale? The Crystal Empire and Twilight's Kingdom.
Least fav premiere and finale? Friendship is Magic and The Cutie Re-Mark.
Fav song? A three-way tie between My Past Is Not Today, The Magic Inside and The Goof-off.
Least fav song? The Cutie Mark Crusaders theme song. This is the only song in the show I downright despise. It's not even so bad, it's good; it's still part of the episode and the writer still expects you to sit through it. The key to cringe comedy is to show others' reactions to the situation and make the reactions as humorously exaggerated as possible. Equestria Games did this very well with the facial expressions during Spike's song (plus he was at least trying to stay in key). This song does not; all we got was Applejack's "oh, God" face at the start, had to suffer through the rest of the "song" (if you can even call it that... I'm not gonna call it that) and finished with everypony else's "duuuuh" faces at the end which makes it all the more painful to sit through. The instrumental itself is fine but the vocals... as if I even need to go into detail. The CMC are capable of singing great, as demonstrated in later songs, so that is no excuse for them not getting a little into it. I know it's supposed to be bad. Hell, I heard Lauren Faust actually sent the song back to Daniel Ingram because she wanted it to sound worse. But sorry, Daniel, intentionally bad is STILL bad.
Best villain? A three-way tie between Lord Tirek, Discord and Adagio Dazzle.
Worst villain? Starlight Glimmer. Childish interpretation of equality plus unsympathetic backstory plus horribly-rushed redemption plus plot armour that allows her to somehow be able to compete with an Alicorn equals UGH...
Best tertiary antagonist? Trixie. But someone tell Sethisto to stop treating her like a goddess.
Worst tertiary antagonist? Diamond Tiara. Am I seriously the only one who didn't feel sorry for her in Crusaders of the Lost Mark?
Do you like the first Equestria Girls movie? No, although I can't call it "terrible" or "unwatchable". It's harmless at best. And definitely worth sitting through to get to the much-better sequel!
What about Rainbow Rocks? YES! A major improvement over the first movie!
And Friendship Games? I like Rainbow Rocks just a little bit more, but I still find this movie pretty damn great!
Don't forget Legend of Everfree! I think Friendship Games is slightly better but this was pretty great too! Looking forward to the three TV specials and the inevitable fifth movie!
Speaking of movies, looking forward to the 2017 movie? Uh, YES!
Fav shippings? SunLight, SunDagio, AppleDash, RariJack and (on occasion) CheesePie.
Least fav shippings? FlashLight, Sparity and TwiLuna
Fav bronies in the community? Silver Quill, Dr Wolf, Lily Peet, ILoveKimPossibleALot, Joshscorcher, Wubcake, Draft the FilmMaker, AnimatedJames and JanAnimations.
Best kind of fans? Animators, reviewers, analysts, writers, artists, cosplayers and video creators
Worst kind of fans? Lauren Faust purists, contrarians, whiners who "leave the fandom" and make a big spectacle out of it, rabid Fluttershy fanboys who demonise any character who so much as makes her shed a tear, fans who believe their headcanons are right and haters who insult the show staff by name.
Any characters you didn’t like but grew to like as the series progressed? Rarity.
Have a waifu? Sunset Shimmer... aaaand Sonata Dusk. Also Applejack. And maaaybe Rarity too... But also Adagio Dazzle. Sometimes Twilight on occasion. And recently, Saffron Masala... SCREW IT, I'LL TAKE 'EM ALL!
If you could remove one meme from the fandom, what would it be? "Applejack is best background pony". So what if she doesn't have crazy moments like Twilight or isn't random and crazy like Pinkie? She's honest, strong and hardworking, acts as the voice of reason, is very encouraging towards her friends, never backs down from a fight, is a great second-in-command to Twilight, willingly ventures into danger to save others, has her moments of stubbornness but still strives to look after her family and loves for her little sister with all her heart. So SHUT. IT.
Can you name anyone you want to guest star on the show? Peter Cullen, Idina Menzel, Stan Lee, Patrick Stewart, Liam Neeson, Kristen Wiig, Jenny Slate, Anna Kendrick, Rob Paulsen, Ian McKellen and John DiMaggio. (I know that's too many, bite me, they're awesome)
And finally, what about a guest star to voice a one-time villain? Tony Todd, Steve Blum, John Noble, Grey Delisle, Jude Law, Ron Perlman, Clancy Brown or Peter Mensah.
Lastly, how did you become a brony? Funny story. In early 2013, I was chatting with one of my Fanfiction friends, A Kiss of Winter, and since she's extremely kooky and incredibly hyperactive, she randomly said "I'm watching My Little Pony right now! :D" I didn't know there was a new show of the original series, so I thought she was talking about the 80s show which I couldn't stand when I was a kid. Whenever one of those toy commercials came on TV in the early 2000s, I would either turn off the TV, change the channel or tauntingly call it "My Stupid Pony". Immature, I know.
Then one day, I was on a random YouTube video and in the comment section, I saw a positive comment from someone with a pony avatar, which I thought was some weird cartoon horse. And he'd gotten a boatload of replies saying stuff like "get lost, brony faggot". And I thought, "what the hell is a brony? Is that a misspelling of 'brownie'? Can't anyone spell ANYTHING right on the Internet nowadays?" But the fact that every reply mentioned this word made me so curious, I looked it up in case it was a thing. And I was shocked to discover this whole fandom of grown men creating artwork, making music and videos, writing fanfiction, chatting on forums, watching and actually liking this new show "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic".
I certainly didn't HATE the show or its fanbase, I wasn't one of those trolls who went on a random pony video just to insult them in the comments. But it wasn't something that peaked my interest as something I really wanted to watch either, so I avoided it. But overtime, after Season 3 had ended and Equestria Girls has been released, my curiosity finally got the better of me so I looked up a few fanmade works and even watched a couple of clips from the show. And I thought, "Huh, it seems innocent, it actually doesn't seem annoying or stereotypically girly".
So eventually in July of 2013, I finally said to myself: "Alright, I'll check out a few episodes and see what makes this show so great." So I got up some random episodes on my laptop (I remember the very first one I watched was A Dog And Pony Show) and sat through them one by one. And I was pleasantly surprised to find myself actually enjoying them. So I said to myself "Y'know what? Maybe I'll marathon the whole series".
So that's exactly what I did. I started from the very first episode and watched every single one late at night without my family knowing until I got to the Season 3 finale. And before I knew it, I ended up loving it. And once I finished watching the last episode of Season 3, I threw up my arms and said "I admit it, I'm excited for Season 4. I'm officially a brony."
And now here I am, over 100 episodes and four movies later. :)
“In many ways, the work of a critic is easy. We risk very little, yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and their selves to our judgement. We thrive on negative criticism which is fun to write and to read. But the bitter truth we critics must face is that, in the grand scheme of things, the average piece of junk is probably more meaningful than our criticism designating it so. But there are times when a critic truly risks something. And that is in the discovery and defence of the new. The world is often unkind to new talent, new creations. The new needs friends." – Peter O’Toole

"I used to be embarrassed because I was just a comic-book writer while other people were building bridges or going on to medical courses. And then I began to realise: entertainment is one of the most important things in people's lives. Without it, they might go off the deep end. “A story being cliché does not instantly make a story bad. How you handle those clichés is what is important.” and "There’s more to a musical number than “Is this a good song.” Where you put it, why you put it in, it’s running time compared to the rest of the episode, and the elements it’s either compressing or extending are all important things to consider." – Lily Peet
