![]() Author has written 21 stories for Smallville, Merlin, Harry Potter, Once Upon a Time, and How to Train Your Dragon. Since this was getting a bit long, and I know that I personally never take the time to read long profiles, I decided it was time for some editing. First up, some basic information. I'm twenty-some years old. I work in retail and I am taking classes at a local college. I'm in to all sorts of things, in case you can't tell from my ever growing favorites list. For the past several years, I've been studying Literature in the hopes of becoming a writer and a teacher. Until I manage to write my own novel and create my own world, I satisfy my inner geek by playing in other people's sandboxes. To be honest, I've found fanfiction to be an excellent way of growing as a writer. In the past few years since I started actively writing fanfiction I've learned more about being a writer than I ever did in school. I'm learning new techniques and becoming more comfortable in my own writing style. Having the support of the fanfiction community means everything to me. You only get so much constructive criticism from well-meaning family members, after all. 19 November 2014 Um...hi? Apparently it's been almost two years since I really updated my profile and it's swiftly approaching a year and a half since I updated some of my fics. I suppose that it's high time I let everyone in on what has been going on. The long and the short of it is that school and work have kept me incredibly busy. I've been taking at least three classes and consistently working about thirty hours a week. What little free time I've had has mostly been devoted to homework, chores, and sleep. It's been incredibly hard to find both the time and the energy to write with everything going on. To make things even more difficult, every time I think that I have my feet under me, a new semester starts and I have to readjust to a new schedule. Recently, however, I have finally managed to fall into a schedule that it allowing me some time to actually catch my breath. I have finally felt like writing again. That said, I fear it's going to be a slow process getting back into my stories. I've not lost the motivation for them, but I have been away from them for so long that I need to reacquaint myself with them. At this point I'm honestly having trouble remembering what I actually wrote and what I only considered writing. It's my plan to go back and edit Return of Merlin for content and continuity before continuing on with new chapters. There are several pages of exposition that I believe might be repetitive and possibly contradictory. Albion Rising doesn't need this editing, it just needs a new chapter, which I am working on, but I'm having trouble pegging the right voice. As for my unfinished Smallville fics, those are still on indefinite hiatus. I still plan to go back and edit Twist of Fate. It will be fully rewritten before I continue on to Gift of Fate. I honestly backed myself into a corner with that one. Nothing has been fully abandoned. I have outlines sketched out for everything, it is unfortunately just a matter of finding the time and the energy to actually do the writing. I can't thank you enough for having patience with me. |
