Hello all. I'm a 46 year old Mom, and wife. And I am completely addicted to Fanfiction. Which comes in handy since I'm stay at home Mom (5 kid's) and love to read. My husband, of course, doesn't understand my obsession. But when I explain how much money this saves us, he shuts-up quickly! :>
I think its been 4 years since I've became a fan of it. My oldest daughter, now 18, was the one who introduce me to it. Started out with my other obsession, Twilight. And its been ongoing ever since. I have written stories for it, under Peachymom, name.
About two years ago I started to look for HP stories...a sweet sounding song with bright light hangs over my head...but then again, that also happened with Twilight fics too.
I adore the HP world by JK Rowling and the fanfiction world for HP, and am so glad that my daughter insisted (actually nagged me into them!) because it truly is wonderous. Yes, it took me until right before Goblet of Fires release to actually read them. We had seen the first two movies, on video, but I kept putting off reading. So, the days before the release of HP and GOF, I read the first three books in 5 days. And after that, it was a fight between Meg (daughter) and I to see who read new books first.
I left her 'win' those fights, but...when Deathly Hallows came out, I was determined I would be first. Yep, I stood in line, for hours...bought it...drove home and walked in as quietly as I could. Turned around from shutting the door and had the book 'snatched' out of my hands and she ran into her room almost slamming her door and then locking it!! I couldn't believe it. Did I mention that she was almost maniacally laughing as this was happening?! She started it that morning, around 8 and handed it to me that evening at about 5:30. So, me being completely obsessed, finished dinner and made sure everyone was eating. I turned to my husband and told him to make sure the two little girls got put to bed at their normal time and proceeded to read. I finished around midnight.
I loved it and was disappointed in it. Just certain things, but then again, each book had those. So, I thought I would tell you them and see how many agree.
My favorite pairings:
Hermione/Weasley Boy's *except Percy and Ron*
Hermione/Lucius-Draco/and some of the other Slyerthin's
Ron/Lavendar *not the creepy/scary one from movie*
The pairing of Hermione with Ron to me was NOT a good thing. As a first love kind of thing, yes, very sweet. But to marry them...NOPE! They should stay best-friend's.
And Harry/Ginny, well frankly after reading several fanfics., its kind of sick. Lily being a red-head and Ginny too. Yea...not a good thing!
I have, just recently read a couple of very good Harry/ Hermione stories. But they wouldn't be my choice to put them together romantically. I understand it, but just not my thing.
Some probably don't like Hermione, Ginny and Luna being paired with Slytherin's, but I love those bad boy's. Oh come on, if you can love the bad-boy Marauder's, surely a little darkness can't hurt?! ;D
I enjoy Hogwart school year's, and Post Hogwart's/War stories. Also like some time-turners, but only back to Marauder era. Haven't read that many next generation ones, so can't really know how I like them. LOL, liked the couple I read...but...
Mostly M rated stories for me, or a T. Love lemons /limes or any other citrus you want to write in a story. Also really don't mind a well written slash story.
Oh, and my avatar...well this is 'Severus' in my stories. :D
