Author has written 2 stories for Upstairs Downstairs.I finally made it actually write a bio! I've been a lurker on the site for years, just enjoying the stories that people made. And there are quite a few that are outstandingly good. But I got the courage to write my own story, based on one of my favorite shows, Upstairs, Downstairs. For the ones who love costume based dramas, this is "the" show. Please read and review. I would like to write more, but I need reviews to fuel me.
I have quite a bit of interests if you look at my favorite stories...
I am a fan of Star Trek: The Next Generation. I won't deny it. They had consistently good plots and great acting. And the fact that they made that stuff up on a weekly basis and pulled it off is nothing short of impressive.
I love animation. I always have, since I was a little girl and realized that people sit at desks all day and draw for a living (how cool is that?!). I was raised on Disney Afternoon and I can appreciate a good cartoon. I like some of Nickelodeon's, Hey Arnold especially. But I do have a high standard and there are some that I genuinely cannot stand (Rocketpower, anyone?). But there are 2 adult cartoons that I find absolutely hysterical: Family Guy and The Critic. If they brought those back, I would actually watch TV on a regular basis.
I love reading, it's my first love, animation is second. But my most favorite? I am a big fan of Lucy Maud Montgomery's books. I try to read Anne of Green Gables once a year.
Movies? I'm picky about my movies, too. Some I grew up on like Back to the Future. I can watch that one and still find it funny. Which ones are my favorites? Right now, off the top of my head, Jackie Brown, LoTR (I finally got around to seeing them), classics (doesn't matter who), PotC, Pride and Prejudice. There are more, but the list would get rather long.
Television? Personally and honestly, I can go without watching TV for a month and be ok. And I've done it. I haven't found anything that actually makes me want to take time out of my day to watch. But the ones that have grabbed my attention are either British or miniseries like As Time Goes By, Upstairs, Downstairs, and Taken (you have to see it, it's the best miniseries ever, trust me).
I think that's all for now. If anyone has ideas I can write on, please write and let me know.
