I'm not a writer, just an avid reader.
I wish I had the talent and the time to write (mostly the talent, as you can always make time).
Just in case any of you writers ever look at your reader's "Bios", I wanted to leave a message:
Thank you for writing and enriching my life!
You are making me smile, giggle, laugh, frown (occasionally), question my sanity (quite a lot), and enjoy my otherwise lonely evenings/weekends.
I truly believe I've become a better person. There are some topics I've never been exposed to before but by reading your stories I've broadened my horizon. Things that were alien, or taboo, or plain weird to me now seem OK, normal, even outright perfect! If your writing hadn't been that good I would have never ventured into "new territory".
Wait: You've turned me into a bookworm and sociopath! I enjoy reading your stories more than spending time with "real people". Is there something wrong with me?
Through your stories and enthusiasm, I've been motivated to:
- Travel more: What is London really like these days? - It's still my favourite city of all! (Hadn't been back in a looong time...)
- Have new experiences: What would it be like to see that awesome actor perform? - Priceless, especially live in theatre! [Hey, how about that: I love the theatre now. Never knew I would. I've been to 3 more performances this year, after Frankenstein. (None were as good, although War Horse (NY) came a close second.]
- Communicate with "strangers": Me, writing reviews - what an alien concept, as I have a hard time expressing myself. Writers responding to my reviews - what a surprise and pleasure. It almost feels like I'm making friends. Ok, let me dream... :-)
Anyway, my life is taking an up-swing. I'm loving it and I have you to thank for it!
Please keep writing!!!!
