Author has written 17 stories for Tangled, Hunger Games, Ironman, Harry Potter, American President, Brave, 2012, and Cthulhu Mythos.
I'm a meteorology doctoral student a few months from being finished, a woman, historical fashion nerd, steampunk wannabe, lover of Washington DC, former political staffer, and in my 30s.
I'm not expecting to begin any new long fanfics. I'm not ruling it out 100%, but it's not likely. It is quite possible I will write short ones in the future, once I have finished the stories that are currently open.
I move hurricanes:
"Beta drift refers to the southwestward motion in the Southern Hemisphere and the northwestward motion in the Northern Hemisphere of a tropical cyclone caused by the variation in the Coriolis parameter. Also referred to as beta gyres or the beta effect."
Note: Carpe Diem is on hiatus until further notice. There are only a couple of chapters remaining, but I simply have not had the time to work on these stories for the time being. I have real-life ambitions that require me to work on a fairly strict timeline. Highly Reactive has one chapter left.
I've made a Tumblr for stuff related to my FF. On Tumblr, my username is betagyre-penname. I post updates about my stories, the occasional item of commentary, artwork, crafts, or whatever. Also, some of my writing can only be found there, including draft-quality pieces, drabbles, "bonus scenes" from stories I've posted on this website, and items I consider too mature for this site. Fics on the Tumblr include headcanon material, random AU short pieces, and all my Hunger Games crossover one-shots except "Smile for the Cameras."
I've migrated to AO3 (username: betagyre), having joined the list of people who have well and truly had enough of FFnet's constant technical snafus and who have sometimes censored our stories to avoid falling prey to prudes here. None of my stories here are coming down, and those stories that are open on this website (Carpe Diem and Highly Reactive) will be completed here, but anything new I write will go up there.
