Here's some information about me that you might find interesting... I would much rather you read my stories (and hopefully enjoy them) than read
What are my main hobbies/interests?
First and foremost, my favorite hobby is, obviously, writing. Thanks to a friend, I was introduced to the magic of books at a young age. Unlike some young children who found the task of reading a bore, or perhaps a chore as well, I read to the point where by the time I was in my early teens, I had read all of the appropriate children's literature I could find. Yet by that time, I had since written a smallish book set in the 1940's (historical fiction is my most loved genre), and many other short stories, one of which about a turkey who couldn't gobble. I still have to laugh over the stupidity of it all, yet it was beginning to instill in me the realization that writing was going to become a large and influential part of my life. My 1940's story, which I will call "Hanna", made the rounds through my family, extended family, adult friends (I am an only child, so some of my most loved acquaintances were friends of my parents), and even my local girl's book club. Though I now realize that perhaps most of the praise given to "Hanna" was because of my young age and closeness with the people who read it, it still excited me that I may very well be actually good at writing. After "Hanna" was finished, I had since then become much more involved with school, as those who are getting older all experience. Writing took a very long hiatus...
Ironically, my main interest is movies and TV series. For some unknown reason, motion pictures warm something in me I can't explain in a paragraph, or perhaps even in words. For those who also like these things, I'm sure you understand what I am talking about... It isn't just the acting side of it, but the creation and production process that fill something in my soul when I see it with my eyes or hear it with my ears. Animation, both traditional and digital, also stir something in my heart. So yes, I do watch what the industry calls "children's movies" (which I highly disagree with, as you cannot call something made by adults something of a child's ownership or doing). Nowadays, with the movie industry stained and burned with the sadistic and morally drained excuses for movies, I find myself enjoying the old (and sometimes new) classics of Disney or Pixar, even Dream Works as well. I hardly ever watch live action movies that were made after 2000. I grew up watching Burt Lancaster, Clark Gable, Gregory Peck, Audrey Hepburn, Humphrey Bogart, William Holden, Steve McQueen, Jimmy Stewart... shall I go on? In short, I grew watching the golden age in movie history, and I'm grateful for it!
So, back to writing, I'm sure you have now put two and two together and realized that my love of writing and movies/TV brought me to Fan Fiction, which you are right in thinking. It all started with the 2010 Disney Renaissance revisit called "Tangled". Though I have since then gone on to other films, "Tangled" led me to the world of Fan Fiction, and also to the literary style I have come to enjoy (which is a whole different topic in itself). In recent years, I have become seriously addicted (and I mean addicted) to the Western genre, and to the deliciously handsome John Wayne and equally, if not more so, handsome James Arness of "Gunsmoke" fame. So then, after reading that, you can rightfully assume I'm a girl... :) Back to Westerns, I am currently exploring the amazing show that is Gunsmoke, and any other serious western I can get my hands on. Bonanza (and the Cartwright boys) is (are) another one of my favorites.
Also a given after reading above, my other main hobby is horseback riding, western pleasure to be exact. I lease and help train my dear friend's, who I will call "Arlene", horses. They are my pride and joy... The love of horses was, I truly believe, was instilled in me at birth, as I have been riding since the age of seven, but have handled horses all of my life.
Insert name here have noticed you talk about "God" all the time... Why?
If you were a child of the King of the world, wouldn't you want to talk about him too? Don't let that confuse you, as I am one of the many loved children of Someone who has greater power than any king you could meet face to face. My Father is with me wherever I go, and loves me even though I fail Him, yet He disciplines me to follow His will for my life, and there is nothing I want more than for Him to guide me. My Father made you too. He made the grass, the trees, the tallest mountain, and the smallest cell in our bodies. The Lord Jesus Christ is His sinless Son, and He(Jesus) died, willingly, a gruesome death on a cross made for thieves and murderers. He paid the price for all of our sins, so that we wouldn’t have to die because of them. Without this sacrifice, I would be going to hell. But because I repented of my sins in front of my Father, he forgave my sins and gave me eternal life. I’d tell you more, but that’s a lot to chew. If you’d like to know more, send me a message. I would love to talk to you!
