WELCOME TO MY PROFILE!
BEFORE YOU JUMP INTO READING:
LET ME SHARE A BIT ABOUT MYSELF.
I'm in the process of challenging myself to write better fiction. "When A Veela Cries" shows this, in that there seems to be a significant change between the first few chapters and the last ones - or so I've been told. Hopefully, those changes continue. In order to make that happen however, all of us who write need reviews. We love getting reviews that praise our work, but we also need reviews that highlight areas we need work on. Please take a couple minutes to leave a review on a chapter if you read it. Thanks.
MULTICHAPTER FICS
When A Veela Cries: (Warning - some spoilers ahead)
My first descent into a very A/U universe. It is the end of the Year Four. But Harry recognizes that something is amiss in the maze. He and Cedric stick together, then find Fleur and Krum. All four of them reach to take the cup, and are transported to the cemetery. Voldemort however, has decided that his return was not going to be secretive, and sends out the reconstituted Death Eaters to "cleanse" Hogwarts. When the champions return, the work has already been done. Now, the champions must run for their lives. If they can get to France, they will. Harry however, has a much more disturbing decision to make. No longer under Dumbledore's tutelage, he must decide whether to keep on the path Dumbledore has set in fighting for the side of light, or turn dark, and fight fire with fire, knowing that he will have to end his own life after he kills Voldemort if he does. But in all of this, a Veela's love grows for Harry, reaching out and empowering him in love as well, but can love and joy exist in the same heart as malice and hate? Dark(er)!Harry Harry/Fleur
Note: I've also posted deleted scenes and other tidbits in a separate story with the same name, but designated as "Deleted Scenes."
Update: June, 2018. Well, I had hoped to have this story completed by now, but instead, I just published my first chapter after almost 2 and a half years. Regardless, I promise this is not and will not be abandoned. It's about 6 chapters give or take from being finished.
Taking Umbridge:
No, it is not about taking Umbridge "like that," as a few people have commented. The title is simply extended JKR's play on words with her name. The story is 3rd person POV (Fleur), and is about her and the demons of her past (her father was killed by Death Eaters in France during the first war—the "canon father" is her stepfather in this story) that she must deal with. Fleur is tasked by the Order to protect Harry, Ron, and Hermione at Hogwarts during their fifth year. What she is not ready for, however, are the changes that Ron and Harry have gone through over the previous summer. Especially Ron (at the beginning). No bashing. No Manipulative Dumbledore (as the cliche goes), this story is an attempt to write a fresh look at the fifth year without cliches and overused plot devices.
Update: June 2018. Posting on this story has slowed down simply do to the demands of life and the desire to finish WAVC. However, most of the chapters are written and just need editing.
Update 2: June 2018. I am also proud to note this story has been accepted into the library at DLP, whose standards are pretty well-known in the Harry Potter fanfic world, as are some of the authors over there.
CROSSOVERS
When Harry Met Edward at the Emo Hero Rehab:
Crack!Fic. I really, really do apologize for writing this story, but I couldn't get the meeting of Harry and Edward at a rehab for emo heroes out of my mind. Mainly, it's just a setting for the two of them to discuss their stories, authors, and the author of this story, all in a very humorous though negative light.
OTHERS
Veelas and Accidental Bonds:
This isn't quite a crack!fic, but it is meant to do two things. The first is take loving pokes at the cliches we all love in the Harry/Fleur pairing. The second is to entertain me. You'll see what I mean in chapter three. I don't think I'll ever come back to writing this fic, but it's still fun nevertheless.
