Author has written 12 stories for Stargate: Atlantis, Sanctuary, and Stargate: SG-1.
I am a 29 year old mother to 4 daughters ranging in age from 9-2. I have been married to my sailor for 10 years. As a mom of 4, and someone crazy enough to harvest as much of her own food as she can, live sustainably, cook from scratch, I'm pretty busy. I also work in the 'local' emergency room as a CNA/ER tech a few times a week (12 hour shifts) I write to relax, to de-stress and disconnect from this world. When I do so stories just pour out and may make no sence at all, but I have a new story none-the-less, and who doesn't love a little Crack!Fic???
I have never been a writer and never claimed to be. I am also dyslexic. And while spell check catches anything backwards, other symptoms of dyslexia are leaving out letters, using the wrong letters and sometimes the wrong words. So if my grammar is horrible please excuse me and feel free to help edit! I promise, English is my first language (sort of I was born and raised in DownEast Maine, we have a bit of a different dialect) even if it doesn't seem like it at times.
For the first time in my life I am trying to put pen to my many thoughts and ideas. I have many ideas but not the skills to convey them properly. I hope to grow and learn here.
I have been watching Stargate since I was in highschool. While I HATED sci fi, the guy I was dating nagged until I watched it. Being a lover of cultures and Anthropology and planning on entering the US Army as a Nurse, the show completely appealed to me on that level. I LOVED the cultures and thier portrayl of those cultures from Earth. I also became a huge Sam/Jack shipper. I fell in love with Stargate and the universe it created.
I resented Atlantis at first, chalking up to a poor copy of SG-1. The only benifit was Rodney McKay who while very rough around the edges I found very appealing. He also drove my husband up a wall, and while watching Atlantis with me he rooted for his untimely death in every episode. I now love Atlantis and mourned its cancelation. I have never watched SGU. And since I watch extremely little TV, I have no idea what else there is for shows (other than Bones, but I'm a couple seasons behind), so I get my entertainment fix from writing and reading here and there.
While I'm a Sam/Jack shipper at heart, I also feel the Sam/McKay dynamic is seriously under explored. My first fanfic is dedicated to Sam/McKay (And in serius need of a rewrite). But, After reading Lone-Ranger1's fics I had been converted into a Sam/John shipper. While I'll always love Sam/Jack (but I'm sure it's been done.to.death. which is why I do not write or read Sam/Jack) and think Sam/McKay are halarious, I love Sam/Daniel Sam/John and Sam/Cam so you may see stories of many different pairings. The exception is Sanctuary, the only ship for me is *Teslen*.
As far as what I like to read, I read mostly SGA and Sanctuary with a little SG-1 thrown in. I think crossovers between the 3 are great and add new depths and dimensions, but it seems to be a fairly neglected theme. I'll read just about any genre except horror or anything super gorey (oxymoron coming from a medic I know, but I don't care to be reminded of the amount of cruelty humans can have.) Also not a fan of raunchy slash. I'll read slash if it's R rated or less. Romance tends to be my favorite and if you have any recommendations I'd love to hear them, but I also enjoy action, adventure and angst a great deal too.
I'm very flattered and overwhelmed by the response my stories have created, and I love the new friends I have made from responding to reviews and chatting back and forth thereafter, you know who you are and that I love you!
Even without a ton of reviews on each story I recieve many, many visitors and hits per day. Nearly every day I recieve a new favorite story, favorite author or author/story update acknowledgement.
So far, even though it has been my most controversial peice, 'Atlantis Made them Do It' has remained the most popular. It's also one of the first peices I wrote, and I'm not too thrilled with it, I may re-write it, in fact I may go thru them all and rewrite them as I get better at this writing thing. There are not alot of reviews, and I recieved a few hate mails, but by and far has recieved more alerts, visitors and hits per month than any of the others. Strange...
I do hope to one day return and finish 'Saving Grace' I think I got a little burnt out on it, and/or a bad case of writers block and have no real idea where I am going to end up at the end of the story.
