Most Recent Activity and Updates:
Here I post silly or serious (mainly silly) updates about me, my writing and my FanFiction.Net website activity. I predict (badly) when I plan to update what, explain why it's taken me so long and share with you my future writing plans. Some updates may stay longer than others, depending on what I feel like and what is still relevant.
8th March: Where are all of you new people coming from? It's pretty awesome, but it confuses me at the same time. To any new followers, I hope to post a new Amnesia chapter very soon, a new NaruSaku Collection chapter also, and a new short story (I think the next one I post will have a Team 7 focus).
I'm a sucker for re-writing this profile. A new year is a good excuse as any though, right?
Amnesia: Inspired by real life Psychology and brain damage. Amnesia was posted to this website randomly. I had plenty of choices. It was my first multi-chapter story I posted. It's given me the chance to speak extensively, or fleetingly, to lots of great people. It's given me the chance to be more of a writer on this website rather than a reader and so I have learnt everything that comes with that. I've written it over a couple of years from early on, when I first started to write, to present day. I plan to finish it in 2014. On the update front, it was a poor year for Amnesia in 2013, but it played on my mind a lot during my website inactivity. The plot is all planned. Important events have finally been decided. Notes are written out extensively. Now all I need to do is put the ideas down in a word document. I know for a fact it will expand beyond what I have planned, so I'm excited for the end result. I want to achieve monthly uploads at a minimum. Someone kick me if it nearly reaches the end of the month please. 8th March: I hope to get the next chapter up this weekend :).
Awkward Friendship and the NaruSaku Collection: Or as I like to call it: NaruSaku Cheesy Fluff. NaruSaku one-shots are a lot of fun to write. A lot of the stories posted in this collection will be happy fluff or comedy, but there will be some serious ones thrown into the mix. This series is a lot more interactive. In fact, it was turned from a single one-shot into a collection at a reader's suggestion. I'm open to genre suggestions. I do ask for your opinions and votes on what short stories I should post next. I always have something lined up.
The other stories I have posted: Some of them embarrass me greatly. When I first made this account, I must have been uploading every completed story I found. Some of them are my earliest attempts at writing. Some are just random, short scenes. I would love to remove some, but I won't. If one person likes it, it stays. At least they are a reminder that you can improve. Other short stories I have posted are more thought-out and recently written. Unfortunately, 'date posted' isn't too much of a quality promise because I can write some stories over several years, and who knows when I'll get the urge to spice up an old story. I'm looking forward to posting some of my other long stories too.
WARNING: Very long ramble of information.
A little about me:
I am a nineteen year old female from the United Kingdom. I work Monday-Friday, nine to five (what a way to make a livin’). I used to have much more time on my hands before this, so my uploads have become a lot more sporadic. I plan to upload much more frequently in 2014.
A little about my writing:
I believe I was 16 or 17 years old when I decided I wanted to try writing. I write for fun and to improve writing ability, as well as to entertain some of you. I always welcome and encourage constructive criticism - that’s highly appreciated. Feel free to point out any errors in my writing (no matter how small and don’t worry, I don’t bite). I've been gradually improving over time, but I still have a long, long way to go. I don't have a beta reader although I'm very happy to discuss plot, grammar, sentence structure etc. with any of you. It always interests me to hear your opinion.
I write the majority of my stories on the ‘Notes’ app on my iPhone, usually very late at night (after I've gone to bed) – that just has to be the time inspiration strikes me (and nowadays, the only part of the day when I find time), therefore my sleeping pattern is totally messed up. It’s a habit I need to break, unfortunately. Yet for years now, I've rarely gone a day without reading or writing – I think I’m hooked.
I have written some original stuff. I plan to write a book or five, one day, when my writing is a lot better - that, or I plan to write a couple of bad ones on the way. My attitude on writing long, original stories in 2013 was 'I want to wait until I've improved', but I think I will give it a go this year regardless of where my ability is currently at.
You and me:
I reply to every PM and review - sometimes even if I just see your name pop up a lot if you’re favouriting lots of my stories - so feel free to drop me a message. I’m very happy to spend time talking to any of you who want to talk to me. Even if your first language isn't English, don't fear leaving me a review or PM, I will still write back and always appreciate your feedback all the same. I wish I could personally say thanks to you all for just reading, following or favouriting one of my stories also – thank you :).
Favourite Character: Sakura (if you couldn’t guess :D).
Favourite Shipping: NaruSaku
For canon that is. Despite my favourite pairing being NaruSaku, I write and read just about every other Sakura pairing (in fact, there’s very few Sakura pairings I haven’t written, due to creative interest if anything). I’m not a fan of Naruto x Any other character apart from Sakura either, to me that breaks the consistency in his character. Naruto is Naruto, if he didn’t like Sakura, he feels out of character for me.
I’m really far behind with both the manga and anime, though I have been keeping up with some of the more recent manga chapters. One day I will catch up… One day!
Writing-wise, I’ve started hundreds of Naruto stories and have written all sorts of pairings and genres. The majority of my fanfictions are long, multi-chapters, I just don’t like to upload stories until they’re finished. A lesson I’ve learned from uploading Amnesia is no matter how far you are in front when you start uploading a story, time and life will catch up to you, so I won’t be uploading any of my really long stuff until it’s finished, or Amnesia is finished. I don’t want to keep anyone waiting unfair amounts of time – the guilt kills me! I’ve got tons of stories I want to finish and a lot I want to upload, so much so I don’t know which to pick.
My Story Covers:
I make them, if you want to know, this is how:
- I screenshot images from the Naruto episodes.
I do find it fun. I’m all into that kind of editing side of ICT – in fact, I’m probably going to start up video editing again (Naruto AMV’s etc.). I was a video editor before I was a fanfiction writer.
My Favourite Stories/Favourite Authors:
Once I get up to speed with my own writing and uploading, I'm going to time travel and find all my old favourite stories and authors from way back, (from years before I made my own FanFiction account) and add them to my Favourite Stories and Favourite Authors lists. For now, I'm going to be reading a lot, then I'll probably go back to the ones that stuck out to me and add them all to my favourites at once. That's my plan anyway. A favourite to me can be several different things: something I've really enjoyed, something that is worth re-reading, something that has history, memories or significance to me, if I've talked to someone and share their ideas/values which usually comes out in their stories, something I gave feedback on or helped create, or if I somehow inspired a story or if it was written for me, that's usually instantly awesome :D. There are so many great stories on this website, I’m just trying to pick my top favourites – a story I read and don’t favourite in no way shape or form means I didn’t love it.
Thanks for reading my profile/stories – in the future, I do hope to upload a lot more variety and some of my longer stories. Have a lovely day! Or night (go to sleep! I can’t talk, the majority of my time spent on here is when I’m in bed and should be sleeping).
Important Side Note:
I wish to say a big thank you to you all. You’re awesome!
