Coalescence- Stargate SG1
..."The Tau’ri are survivors.” Malek stated. “I’ve seen many of the humans survivors grow under the protection of my kin. Several have even chosen to be hosts! Despite the circumstances I must say this is wondrous news. I regret that it took such devastation for our two people to learn to get along.”
“Yes it is a very sad day for all of us, it should not have taken such evil for us all to realise that we better united than divided.” Lantash agreed. “It should not have taken so long for us to notice that something was wrong with the Tau’ri. If only our alliance had been stronger, we would have known instantly if something was wrong and Samantha would not have suffered as she did. We wronged her and her people with our distrust. If only we have trusted them.”
“There is no point thinking about ‘if only’. What’s done is done.” Delek stated. “What we need to do is think about the future, the Tau’ri have no home now and they need our help. Has the council convened and made a decision about the fate of the humans amongst us?”...
Enemy Unseen- Stargate SG1
...“I’ll become his host.”
And so the final piece on the chessboard was finally moved into place. It had taken him several years to locate them and create a credible cover. None would suspect a poor peasant farmers boy of being anything but what he appeared to be. Nor would they question why the ‘boy’ wanted to be host, after all his family was dead from Goa’uld attacks and they would assume he wished revenge. The symbiote he was to take would soon find out that everything, every word had been an elaborate lie; the ‘peasant boy’ had no desire for revenge, he had far more important things to consider.
“Lay back.” He was instructed, he obediently did so as he carefully acted like a nervous human. He kept his blue eyes blown wide and fearful; his skin trembled as he lay beside the aging and dying host...
Paria- Biker Mice From Mars
...“Let’s go!” Large hands pulled Throttle from his seat and pushed him into a forced run, neither looked back as the jumped over fallen cargo. “Damn! This whole ship is in flames.”
“We’ve got no choice Modo!” Throttle called back as he leapt through the flames and ran down the hall, his friend followed closely behind. “Vinnie open the cargo bay doors!” Throttle cried out as the skidded into the cargo bay. The white mouse needed no more encouragement, he hit the button hard before racing to his ride. All three mice were seated, their bikes revving as the watched the large door slide open, all they could see was a wall of fire but they had no choice but to make the leap. “See you on the other side bros.” Throttle stated before taking the lead and flying into the fire.
“Wahoo!” Vinnie cried out. “Yeah baby! Hello Earth, meet your new flaming hero!”
“More like singed renegade.” Modo muttered amused...
Traitors and Assassins- Dishonored
‘One more job shouldn’t have mattered, I killed nobles before. You could float a whaling ship on the highborn blood I spilled. Another noble steps in to replace the last one, all equally corrupt. Why should an Empress be different? But she was.
I watched her bodyguards face as they took him away. Dead Eyes. I knew I’d pay for this one. Maybe I deserved to. A storm is coming that would shake apart everything I built.
But I couldn’t shake off the look in the Lord Protector’s eyes. From the moment I was close enough, his scent told me he was mine. But I had just killed a woman he’d held dear to his heart and kidnapped the girl he called daughter. And now he would be condemned to death, framed for the murder and kidnap I had committed.
My Mate, My Omega, lost to me before I even had the chance to learn who he was or why fate had chosen us as a pair.
Perhaps I deserved this. Punishment for all my crimes.
But no, fate doesn’t punish wicked people. The Outsider, however, would see this as a fascinating development, finding a mate and losing them within mere moments of discovery. Perhaps this was the Outsider’s way of punishing his wayward agent.
Either way it didn’t change the fact that Corvo Attano was mine, and I couldn’t have him.’
