Author has written 1 story for Inheritance Cycle.
Starting off, I like anime mainly as it's so different. What I mean is they're more exciting, good for different aged audiences and I like fiction a lot, and I mean a lot. I've read loads and loads and loads of fantasy fiction books and watched a few (not very many) Japanese anime series.
I'm not into yaoi by the way, nothing against homosexuality (I have two friends who admitted they are gay so I can respect and get along with gay people). Just doesn't appeal to me as a straight person. I don't mind yuri though.
I mainly like: yugioh gx (and ygxtas and yugioh the abridged series on youtube), yugioh 5Ds and fairy tail. I may watch more different ones but for now I'll focus on these ones what with school, etc. I also like fiction books set in fantasy worlds mainly.
Something which bugs me, I'm pretty sure it bugs loads of other writers and I mean loads, is that in all the real anime the writers/producers never make the main pairs fall in love/kiss/etc. Just puttin' it out there. And yes, unfortunately, I am a sop for romance. I hate myself, it's like some internal paradox.
Age: Old enough to legally drink in the UK
Residence: United Kingdom
Ethnicity: Indian (N. India specifically)
Religion: Sikhism (if you haven't heard of it... go look it up!)
Other stuff: don't give a damn about politics (if you really want to know, in England it's Conservatives and in America Democrats, the one Obama's with).
Stuff I like to do: play footie (not American football), cricket, basketball, (I hate tennis, it's lame. got a problem? No, good. Also, paintballing is beastly!); I like video games (I have a PS3), I play CoD, Skyrim and Mass Effect series mainly. I have others like GTA V, need for speed, heavenly sword, GT V etc.
I like my food (weird? yes, I know, I get that a lot. food should be good, not something which looks or tastes like something, I dunno, a zombie threw up).
I am sort of nerdy (apparently) but at the same time I have a social life: hanging out and stuff. So yeah, studying's my game (going out with mates and screwing around is as well!). But everyone says I'm super smart and one of the nerds of my class, which is an appreciated compliment. Although I do find I now get excessively paranoid about sounding like some 'mightier than thou' boastful, asshole...
Favourite Music: I like lots of stuff I guess. Rock (but not heavy, heavy metal) like AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Rainbow, etc but new stuff as well like Snow Patrol, Muse, Linkin Park (Five Finger Death Punch is new one I'm into sort of), etc. I like some rap and R&B like Tinie Tempah, Eminem, some Snoop Dogg, Akon, Flo-Rida those kinda dudes. I like house/trance as well, dudes like Avicii, Swedish House Mafia, David Guetta, Paul van Dyke, etc.
An odd thing about me, I like classical mythology a fair bit; that's why I've done greek and latin in school for 4 or 5 years now as well as usual subjects (for the record, greek mythology is so much better than roman; dudes like Homer had the weirdest, yet 'awesomest' imaginations ever, even if he made half of his stuff up. People like Virgil are dead boring in their stories and all the roman myths are lame compared to greek myths). I've finished my final years in them now so I'm slightly sad about that I guess.
-Wheel of Time
-The Belgariad and Mallorean
-Lord of the Rings
-The Elenium and Tamuli
-A Song of Ice and Fire
-Of Mice And Men
And many others which I cannot seem to remember...
-'cogito, ergo sum': I think, therefore I am.
-Inheritance Cycle: Arya x Eragon.
Murtagh x Nasuada
-Fairy Tail: Natsu x Lucy
Gray x Juvia
Erza x Jellal/Siegrain
-Yugioh GX: Jaden/Judai x Alexis/Asuka
-Yugioh 5Ds: Yusei x Akiza
-Maximum Ride Max x Fang
Disliked pairings (take no offence, I do not diss/flame stories with these pairings, I just don't read them and they're not to my liking. Each to his/her own):-
-Inheritance Cycle: Murtagh x Arya: I find they don't really fit together to be honest (Murtagh seems to like Nasuada anyway judging from Inheritance) and sad to say I'm the 'realistic' dude so I don't see this happening.
-Yugioh GX: Jaden/Judai x Jesse or Blair
Alexis x Chazz or Zane
-Yugioh 5Ds: Akiza x anyone else
-Maximum Ride: Max x Dylan or Iggy
-In a lot of fandoms/categories, I often see people complaining about one or two pairings dominating the section and saying some crap such as 'oh, it's so over-rated'. Well sunshines, if it really was, why is everyone still reading and writing that pairing the most? And it's to be expected e.g. in a lot of book series with romance as a background or major genre, there are specific/main pairings built and that are expanded upon through the books. It's also pretty normal for the majority of readers of these series to like these specific pairings. Hence, it's unsurprising to see these series' fanfiction sections filled with stories largely concerned with the one or few main pairings. Not much you can really do about it... it just happens.
-Following on, sort of, smugness. When writing a fic with an unusual pairing, I sometimes (sometimes, not all the time) see people with just that sort of air of haughtiness that they are better than others who write the 'usual' pairings, better than others because they aren't 'mindless sheep' following the trend. That shouldn't be how it goes. Like what you like, hate what you hate.
Inheritance Cycle notes:-
-For people who hate Eragon x Arya, I'm genuinely curious: is it that she doesn't deserve him, or should she stay single due to Faolin, or something else? Or Eragon doesn't deserve her maybe? Just wondering about your opinions.
-People who like Murtagh x Arya, I don't get why they say 'they are very similar' to argue it's better than ExA. Eragon and Arya have very many similarities as well, lots of the characters do. It bugs me a bit. Also people who say Eragon's a whiny child (going after Arya, etc) even in Inheritance, I don't get that either. Ignoring Paolini's sometimes odd writing, I think he's matured for sure after Eldest. Maybe I'm not critical enough, which is highly likely since I suck at english literature analysis. Arguing that the 'angstiness' and unconventional-'ness' of it makes the pairing better is a bit iffy, I think anyway, since it IS a fantasy world and it IS a fantasy fiction where romance is normally pure, true and simple. ...But this is just my opinion and the way I think. (I find it hard to believe Arya would trust Murtagh as well after the events of the war, plus Murtagh's human i.e. Arya pratted on to Eragon during that 'Starry Glade' scene in Eldest about elf/human relationships not working out. It's too hypocritical to see her going against her word; I mean, at least Eragon's partially elf by the end. On Murtagh's side, I doubt he has much love for elves after fighting so many on Galbatorix's side and he didn't express much interest in Arya when they initially found her in Eragon i.e. a fleeting comment about her looks.)
-People who bash Eragon and just say 'Murtagh FTW, Eragon is stupid'. Kinda harsh guys/girls. I'll admit, Eragon acts like a tool sometimes but later on in the series, as Paolini got a bit better at writing, Eragon I would say became a more tempered character (but not at his maximum potential though): he shows more wisdom and intelligence (finally...). And doesn't act like a tool quite as much. As for Murtagh, yes he's a boss for sure but saying 'OMG! He's so much smarter, awesome and badass than whiny Eragon' is quite unjustified. I find this a fair amount in pairings not to do with Eragon and it's pretty lame.
But each to his/her own. These are just my opinions (ramblings and extensive curiosity you might say), take no offence please guys/girls.
