Author has written 40 stories for Harry Potter. Alright, I think it's time to rewrite the profile, considering it's two years out of date. Makes sense that I organize it by the things I enjoy :-) Harry Potter: I started writing Harry Potter fanfiction in 2002 because I was tired of waiting for book 5 to come out and decided to try to write it myself. I posted it online at the request of my college roommate, and was amazed when people actually liked it (it was my first time being any sort of an author.) Although there was a break for a few years as I started writing HP-RPG work, I now do both; If anyone's interested in trying out RPG writing (or even curious what it is) feel free to email me about it. Music: I graduated Iowa State University with a minor in music. Not because it was any sort of goal on my part, but because I took enough music classes for fun that by my senior year I was only 2 classes away from the minor. I play the trumpet and the piano, and love doing composing and arranging. For Christmas of 2003, instead of going out and buying presents, I made a music cd for all my family and friends as a gift - and I'm doing the same for the 2005 Christmas. Recently I got a nice little tool - a Xorg Synthesizer that will hopefully let me produce some songs that verge on professional quality. If you're interested in hearing some MP3's - either of me playing trumpet/piano or of songs I've composed/arranged, fire me off an email or YIM message (if you have Cable/DSL - you won't want to try to download them with dialup...) Programming: I've always loved tinkering around and programming on computers. So it wasn't unexpected when I graduated ISU with a degree in Computer Science, and have a job programming here in Des Moines. Working a full time job programming does make it a bit difficult to work up the gumption to program much on my spare time. Nevertheless, there have been a few projects that were finished out. The biggest was my own web browser which featured it's own popup blocker (this was before the version of IE that does it automatically) and a program that tracked the posts, authors, and house points for my RPG site. |
